I know that some, perhaps many, of you HCE players out there must have played with the Scenario Editor and perhaps built scenarios of your own. I'll get to the point: why aren't you sharing them? Scenarios are the lifeblood of this game, folks. Without scenarios to play, enjoy and share, we're toiling away at improving this game for what? If you're worried about 'quality', please don't be. There's no one around here that is going to wag their finger and say your scenario doesn't meet their own self-conceived standards. And, if your scenario could use improvement, or you'd like help to make it better in some way, there are plenty of folks who would be glad to…

Ok, so time to test some modern UK forces post cuts. So we have no Harriers. We have the Tornado's still however, which are fairly formidible. We have, I think 2 Carriers? or none, some are to be scrapped but we have some underway. We will be sharing in some capacity with the French, maybe then the carriers could contain some Rafaels? however I tried this in the Scen ed, they didnt fit on HMS Invincible Our likely/simulated/semi-ficticious/made up enemy shall be......... NORTH KOREA. Fighting MiG 21's.... but due to the fact they are a piece of shit rather old, any ideas on Russian/International fighters they could have? Apparently they have some M…

As part of the run-up to the release of Harpoon Commander's Edition, I've decided to dust off some After Action Reports that I did for Harpoon Classic's first battlesets, GIUK, NACV and MEDC. It is hoped that, besides enjoyment of a Cold War era story played out in Harpoon scenarios, this series of AAR's will stimulate one or more of the community's scenario designers (old and new alike) to fashion new Cold War scenarios for the Westpac theater. Enjoy. Scenario 1: NACV 1.0 – Any Port in a Storm Background Although war at sea has been raging for several days, many merchant ships have not yet made it to safe haven, and additionally, many NATO warships have…

I'm planning on doing a Falkland Islands scenario or possibly a few to study the various different force capabilities that would be available to the Royal Navy / RAF to mount a re-taking of the Falkland Islands should Argentina decide to invade depending on the timescales for attack. Looking at 2011 / 2015 and 2020 Basically 2011: Patched up Carrier Group with HMS Ocean, Illustrious and maybe even a rusting Ark Royal, with a few remaining Harrier GR9 planes any maybe some Harrier II's "borrowed " from the US Marines. Possibility of regional intervention from Argentine Allies (maybe Brazil - Carrier Sau Paulo ex Foch) 2015: Potential scenario with no …

Greetings everyone, I just completed my 3rd attempt at Fortress Keflavik scenario. The simulation gave me the opportunity for victory after achieving the minimum conditions, but I decided to try and sink all Red force surface vessles. Mission accomplished. Does this make me some sort of scoundrel? For those of you who have played this particular battle, have you found a way to compeltely anihalate and sink ALL Red Force vessles, surface and sub? Also were you able to do any damage to the Red Force airfields? I sank all the Red Surface forces, and 2 subs at a cost of 10 aircraft. Any ideas or suggestions?

Okay, here's the situation... I just upgraded to Windows 7, and I love it, but the scenario editor no longer works. The game itself runs fine, though. I understand this has something to do with the difference between 64-bit and 32-bit systems. I know there are some work-arounds for this, including Virtual Machines, etc., but I don't have any of those set up yet and I'm honestly not sure when I will get around to it. Any chance someone is working on a new version of the scenario editor? You know, one that will work under Windows 7? In any event, it occurred to me that I can still contribute to the Harpoon community by posting detailed scenario ideas …

To anyone who tried my Falklands test scenario -- thank you and I do appreciate input. Thank you to CV32 who has updated the HCDA database to allow planes on the Atlantic Conveyor & its sister ship. I have just figured out how to simulate the Black Buck raids -- the bombing of Port Stanley from Ascension Island -- by using enough tankers and the split/join function to create groups where the tankers get refueled. With this we ought to be able to create a nice battleset of the '82 conflict. More to come.

I tried several times due to the fact it crashed repeatedly – normally towards the end. At game start time I found my main asset for this scenario - a 2*CV CVBG - about 450NM directly south of Iceland. Again, I had a strong suspicion that there would be Backfires – or at least Badgers – based there, and I sen…

AAR: NACV4 Side: Blue On we go. This is the first scenario of this battleset I try. maybe I would be better to start with 1GIU, but IIR each one has its own story. The setup is really interesting: I´m used to play Cold War scenarios and never played a scen in which the Russians build a coalition with European forces. fascinating setup. My first steps are to set up formation patrols, thus no base will fall victim to a surprise attack out of the blue sky. Next step is to bring the long range recon birds and the bombers into waiting positions.

I apologize if this is not the proper place to post it but...... Has anyone done a scenario where the Soviets have overrun Europe much likes the Germans did and the RAF/NATO is faced with having to defend their bases and industry against Soviet bombers? And based in the EC2003 GIUK battleset/database. I was thinking something along the lines of all the Soviet heavy bombers coming out of Norway and then Frogfoots and such out of France supported by Flankers, etc. and then on the English side NATO Tornados, Eurofighters, F-15's, F-16's, E-3's, etc. And maybe some cross channel Special Forces stuff (Pave Low's, MC-130's, SEALS from subs, etc.) Victory condit…
