July 25, 200817 yr Where do I put the 4 files and how do I access them? David David, You can put the four files anywhere, I put them in my main HCE directory. Then start up the game, choose the EC2003 Battle for the Atlantic Ocean battleset then click OK, choose your options (you get another try) and click OK. Now you'll be at the scenario selection screen, click the User Scenario button. Find and select the scenario wherever you placed it and click Open. I think you'll make it from there. Welcome aboard

July 28, 200817 yr In my "Sub Forms", by Marc Miller, GDW 1989 (paper rules), I can read: "Red October: Typhoon Mod Unit "Red October" has 26 vice 20 SS-N-20 and special caterpillar drive (-10% passive detection chance when in use). Any torpedo hit has a 50% chance of disabling the caterpillar drive. At 10-15 knots on caterpillar, any turn of more than 10º has a 1 in 6 chance of causing a rudder casualty. Special caterpillar drive speed breakdown: 15/11/8/4/0". I.e., as game effects we can assign for the caterpillar drive a 15 knots speed as creep speed to Red October.
August 31, 200817 yr Hello guys, hi Mark, played it through. It looks like I was lucky. South of Iceland three torps materialized straight from nowwhere, but I evaded. Shortly after that, I was awarded with the minimum vic cons fulfilled. Then nothing more happened. Maybe I found the golden path. My Typhoon made its way straight through the Atlantic to Norfolk. But there I didn´t achieve the Total vic cons. Despite I was close to Norfolk and had about one day to go, I was not rewarded. Mark - maybe the on station rectangular is a bit too small? All in all an interesting experience. How to make it harder? More subs lurking in the Typhoon´s path. More long range ASW birds... Regards, Ralf
