OK, I have recently saw how to indicate database, battleset, author... But this scenario is .sc1, it is for Original GIUK Battleset, not for EC2003.scm.

Yep, still goes under GIUK. Your battleset particulars are in the posted info.

It is a major engagement between NATO and Soviet forces. Objetives are to sunk as many ships and subs as you can, and to destroy enemy land bases. Soviet side can achieve tactical victory with a patrol around Reikjavik (Iceland) or Orland (Norway) for 48 hours.

Congratulations on your first scenario.

I ran it through from the Red side. It's pretty challenging. I followed your orders here and could not achieve victory. My ships arrived off Norway without loss and most of them reached Iceland. I did not realize that there were other ViConds as you didn't mention them here. I did not know that I had to sweep for submarines and thus did not sink the 10 subs required for victory.

You might want to check the Red groups. Several of them have no starting speed and thus won't move when controlled by the AI.

One thing that you might consider adding are some Russian Bears or Mays for ASW.

Thanks for creating and sharing it.

I thought that all ViConds were ORed, so you need only to reach one of them. But may be I had a mistake.

I will include some Bears and Mays ASW.

I will review the file and update it at the download section if I can. Perhaps I will be able to add orders file, if OrdersWriter doesn´t found any bad characters this time.

I´m glad you like it.

When I was trying to set initial speeds at "Enter Group Course" command, "Edit Order" command wasn´t available, although I can set other commands like "Next", "Prev"...

So I couldn´t set any order to the group and they haven´t got initial speeds. :o

Can you help me with this trouble?

Try:

1. Select the group that has no starting speed

2. Edit Group Path

3. Hit "Previous" button until you are able to enter orders for Point #0

4. Enter a new speed with F2 for Point #0

Initial starting speed should now be set.

I took a second look at your ViConds and there may be some ambiguity. There are two On Station ViConds that are "And" conditions and 3 ViConds that are "Or" conditions. I don't know how (what order) the game evaluates the various conditions or the connectors. I know that 10 ships arrived at both of the locations specified. I also killed sufficient ships, and bases. AFAIK, the only ViCond in doubt was the number of submarines. Unfortunately, no victory was awarded.

I have already find the solution to the problem. Thanks.

P.D.: I hope "Bear Goes South 2" will be posted. It is an improved conversion from Original-GIUK.sc1 battleset to EC2003-GIUK.scm battleset. I have included your ideas and set start speed. It also has another features more.

That´s right. I think you should reach both ANDor ViConds and another one ORed Viconds to get tactical victory. If you sink enough ships you should get tactical/minimum victory.

Well, I destroyed all the bases, every Blue ship, and the ships arrived on station. No Victory awarded. :(

I am examining your Bears Go South 2 and see that it is for the EC2003 battleset.

Did you write a new scenario from scratch? or did you simply change the *.SC1 suffix to *.SCm and start editing it with the EC 2003 GIUK battleset?

If you just changed the suffix, then you may have some problems. Another fellow was updating old *.SC1 scenarios to EC 2003 standards and tried that. He was advised that he should start over from the beginning with an empty file and re-insert all the bases, planes, ViConds, orders,...

I don't know if it is a problem, but that is where the discussion and advice went.

Sage advice it was...

As I can´t edit the file because I´m not the submitter, who is CV32, I attach the new file here.

[CV32: I've taken the file from your attachment and uploaded it to replace the previous file].

I think the problem was that the ViCond said that they should be 12 carriers instead of 12 ships. I have already change victory conditions.

Yes, I change suffix from .sc1 to .scm and I had to redesign all the scenario. But I had the same groups with the same orders, so I didn´t do so many work.

I'm not quite understanding what you are saying.

If you started with a blank/new scenario in EC2003 GIUK to make "Bear Goes South 2" then you are in good shape.

If you took your .SC1 scenario and renamed it to .SCm and then made changes, the scenario isn't in the right format for EC2003 GIUK. It may run, it just isn't a good practice and most likely won't run correctly.

That will drive you into trouble!

There´s some expierience that this aproach doesn´t work!

If you rename the scenario (from sc1 to scm) you get the same groups and orders. But there is a problem. Individual units inside the group may not be the same as they were in the original scenario.

When I renamed the scenario I got some Tu-95 Bear taking off from Kiev carriers. So you have to edit the individual units again.
