  1. I believe in the original DB that the F-111 couldn't.
  2. I recall seeing another post about this awhile ago as well. Is there a way to have this show up in game in the platform display or something? David
  3. Okay, thank you. I just downloaded those 3, so I'll give them a try later on. I tend to like the larger, more going on scenarios, just because of the added difficulty in management and the fact that there is always something to do (more realistic IMO). Hopefully we'll see some more! David
  4. Hi all, I saw this article today and it spurred some interest: http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?i=626...c=SEA&s=TOP Combined with the news about the Varyag almost reaching completion and US talks about selling or updating Taiwan's F-16's, I think there are some cool possibilities for scenarios here. 1. Growing escalations have led to increased US deployment before crisis. A more balanced scenario with the US having 2 CVBGs, increased air power from Kadena and Andersen, and subs already in position in the Strait and near key Chinese strategic areas. Objective would be to eliminate Chinese air and missile bases. 2. Surprise. US CVBG is out of position, subs are on their usual patrol assignments, regular Air Force squadrons, P-3s shot down (lack of US patrol aircraft), basically the objective would be to hold-onto Taiwan for a day or two as the US gets in gear. 3. World War. Sort of like Brad's scenario 'Lets Go to War', except without Russian aggression, and a CVBG backed Chinese invasion of Taiwan/Japan/Philliphines. US has a CVBG in position, 2 more a day or two away, LOTS of aircraft at Andersen and Pearl, etc. Just thought I'd throw some ideas out there I'm pretty sure there isn't a Chinese carrier/Taiwanese stealth ship in the DB as of yet, although I could be wrong, but it just seems like there is a lack of scenarios in general for this very volatile area of the world. I have 'Lets Go to War' by Brad Leyte, but I don't think I've seen any others that include the Taiwan Strait region as a major AO. Am I correct, or have I just been overlooking stuff? Regards, David
  5. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but I have Win7 Home Premium, not Pro.
  6. Roberto, If it makes you feel better I am 16 and purchased Harpoon for the very reasons you feared it would become 'extinct'. Unfortuneatly, too many of my peers are much to enamored with the whole 'killstreak, headshot, last stand' gameplay. I laughed when one of my friends asked "When does anything happen?" as my CVBG was under fierce SSM attack and I was frantically trying to get more fighters in the air. But of course, no bright and flashing colors to satisfy the eyes, so its ruled as 'stupid'. I too have Windows 7 64 bit, but I don't even want to try to fool around with an emulator or anything of the likes. However, a SE compatible with my computer wouldn't be un-appreciated..... David
  7. Oh wow, those are some pretty neat pictures! Thanks for sharing! David
  8. Okay, thank you. I just found another source confirming this. Any guesses on the transportation? That seems like an awfully long and slow way to get a ship that far via towing. David
  9. Is that all the way around Europe or shipyard-->Black Sea--->Suez?
  10. So I was just reading about the Iranian navy and was wondering if anybody knew how the Iranians got their Kilos to Iran? I know they could have gotten them to the Caspian Sea by river but then how to Bander Abbas? Any knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks, David
  11. Okay, sorry about that. I didn't see those in there. David
  12. I was looking at the Strategic Defense Intelligence site and came across these three articles: http://www.strategicdefenceintelligence.co...hvi_II_missile/ This one appears to just be a range increase over the one already in the DB. http://www.strategicdefenceintelligence.co...dified_cockpit/ This appears to be a typo (helicopter?) but I did some more research and I believe its about this aircraft: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/india/lca.htm I looked in the in game platform display but didn't see it in there. And last: http://www.strategicdefenceintelligence.co...vladimir_putin/ Not a very informative article but an intersting platform IMO. I didn't see it in game either. A better article about the aircraft would be: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/wor...ssia/pak-fa.htm Any chance on including these in the DB? Its not really a big deal for me as I don't really care about those platforms but I saw them so just thought I'd chime in. Sincerely, David
  13. Wow, that looks really cool. Not exactly what I was looking for but I'll like it just as much I think. I'll try to get to play it ASAP. Thanks!! Its too bad its for the old NACV though David
  14. I've been playing around with some compatability stuff and I think I'll be able to get it to work . I did the whole "Windows Compatability Mode" thing so it was starting in Win2000 but the thing didn't even open. Am I doing something wrong here or.....? David
  15. I apologize if this is not the proper place to post it but...... Has anyone done a scenario where the Soviets have overrun Europe much likes the Germans did and the RAF/NATO is faced with having to defend their bases and industry against Soviet bombers? And based in the EC2003 GIUK battleset/database. I was thinking something along the lines of all the Soviet heavy bombers coming out of Norway and then Frogfoots and such out of France supported by Flankers, etc. and then on the English side NATO Tornados, Eurofighters, F-15's, F-16's, E-3's, etc. And maybe some cross channel Special Forces stuff (Pave Low's, MC-130's, SEALS from subs, etc.) Victory conditions along the lines of Blue: Defend the UK (Bases and Industry) for 72 hours or eliminate Soviet bases across the channel (5?) Red: Destroy 5 (out of 7?) airfields and 10 (out of 15?) Industrial sites. Just thought it sounded like it might be interesting. Any thoughts? I would just try to make it myself but Win 7 64 bit David
