I understand the principle, function, purpose of Command and Control in a real operation. However, what I don't understand is what, if any, benefits accrue to using them - and here I thinking specifically of EC-135K Head Dancer - within an Harpoon scenario?

Since I installed 2021.005 every time I open the game I have to resize all the windows to my own idiosyncratic settings. Its hardly the end of the world but I feel that: a) I'm probably doing, or have done, something wrong or, b) I've failed to spot a 'fix' that's already been posted in the forum. Any help, advice, guidance would be appreciated. On an unrelated matter - just sheer curiosity on my part - why is it that, in the older Battlesets, the standard loadout for ASW Seahawk and Oceanhawk helos was generally "ASW" (i.e. 2 torpedoes) whereas in the later Battlesets the loadout is generally "ASW-LR" (i.e. 1 torpedo)?

Eric finally got me over the weekend to revisit how the game sizes windows. I had re-worked the logic in 2013 and since then haven't really understood why as players we continued to see windows get cut off, the Formation Editor platform list dialog not showing any buttons for instance (since the window was drawn too narrow so the buttons were invisible). Okay I give up trying to continually adapt my new computer or components to run harpoon (classic, ultimate, etc). I am committed to a standalone old computer for just games like this. Can someone tell me the ideal old computer (hardware, software, video, etc to buy on some recycle site. Please be specific and if you know of sites that sell such complete systems, please add CAUSE I GIVE UP

I tried playing FONOPS off Venezuela 2020. Historical/Alternate History Scenario. 1.0.0 on HUCE. I couldn't play it because it needs scenario version 5, and I have version 3. I can't find a version 5 anywhere. Anyone have any thoughts?

Ladies & Gentlemen: I'm returning to Harpoon. Purchased Harpoon Ultimate Edition from Matrix. Had DVD shipped because of poor internet connection. Just installed on a new week old Windows 10 machine. Installation went find and the game is running. Checked the version # and it was 2009.050. So I conclude that I must run updates from Matrix website. Do I need to run the 10/10/13 V2009.097 update then run the 1/4/16 V2015.027 update? Or can I run just the 1/4/16 update (does it include the 10/10/13 update)?

I just purchased the harpoon game from Matrix,when I open the game the window is small the maximize button seems to be disabled any help would be appreciated

I got an email from matrix Games today which reminded me of the Harpoon series, and it occurred to me it had been ages since I poked at it. I've purchased the Harpoon Ultimate Edition from Matrix. There are many different versions of classic harpoon that you can play with it. I was wondering if there is any info out there on what was changed from one version to another. I'm sure a lot of it was fixing bugs, but more interested in what features were added from version to the next.

I don't know if anyone else has tried this scenario (I wasn't able to find any opinions/topics on it), but I have some observations that might be interesting, along with some questions. First, the observations: - Blue a/a weapons are very effective, especially those AIM-120s. - Blue F-15s armed with the AIM-120s are a good counter to Iran's F-14 with the Phoenix, especially when "double-teaming" the enemy group. I used to play Harpoon back when there was only one or two versions of it, so getting back into it I'm confused about all the versions available and how to work them. I've read thru various items in the FAQ, but either I didn't read the correct ones or I'm just getting senile...very possible. Anyway, I run HUCE (don't know if that's actually called something else here; I don't see it mentioned much). I just downloaded the "Iran Israel 2010" scenario, and I'm trying to load it. Howdy folks! jeffteacher23 here. I read RSR way back when and stumbled onto Harpoon v3 paper game about 1989 or so. I really like to run/referee a game between different players, As soon as v5 drops I plan on getting a copy and learning it. Then I'll need some players. I'm in Mainland China just north of HK, so it will probably be slow going until action is joined, then it will have to be on a weekend for the resolution via zoom and email for privileged communications. HC 2020.006 is seeing refinement of how nuclear weapon effects are distributed in the game. 2020.004 had a quick fix to prevent the game from crashing when a nuclear weapon destroys units from 2+ neighboring groups in just the right order. 2020.006 comes back and makes the nuclear weapon damage application more correct than ever. I just reloaded HUCE then updated from reload to 2015.27 to 2018.002 to 2020.04. I still get AI aircraft running dry and crashing and if I do not keep tabs on my formation patrol aircraft they on occasion will still do this. I was wondering if virtual memory settings would help to remedy this as it seems to happen in scenarios in which large amounts units over whelm the ram. I am currently running 12GB ram. The scenarios do not freeze up so I think virtual memory is not the problem but thought I would check. I run the block 2 med scenario and planes and helos start dropping about 4 hours game time. Been playing for a long time - and frustrated with the speed of the simulation. Plenty of horse power to run HUCE but simulations crawl. Restarting scenari from saved games helps for a little bit then slow to a crawl again. Windows 10 I7 3 gHtz 12gig ram. Any ideaas?
