When you use TonyE's game launcher (and everyone should, it makes life so easy) you might get an error message saying the serial number can't be validated and contact Matrix Games. Hi everyone I wish I could describe how happY i am to have found the game again with which I wasted most of my teen and tween age years. Great price to pick up some nostaligia for me and big thank you to everyone who helped continue this great game. That said, I have two questions I hope to get some help with: a. Though I'm no expert, I have done my best to put together a history of Harpoon. It's posted at my blog: Harpoon – Retro Viator. I have had a wonderful time pouring through old forums, abandoned websites (thanks to the Internet Archive: Wayback Machine), and reading through manuals and strategy guides. Hi first post. I had the urge to try HCE again after a long hiatus so logged into my Matrix account and download the two files (install & patch) but there seems to be a file size error in the downloaded files. I have the orginal HCE cd but I dont have a cdrom drive in a pc near me. Have I done something wrong?

While playtesting a scenario (attempting to get bombers to attack a CSG) I had some seriously strange stuff happen. A base with 36 Badgers and 36 tankers was tasked with launching 18 tankers and 18 bombers. Several times the bombers got within 200 miles of the CSG but turned around. Added 3 recon aircraft and launched one with two tankers 1 minute after scenario start, then launched 12 bombers and 12 tankers one hour later. Saved it as a different name entirely. Not only did 18 bombers show up (just like the original) but a second flight I didn't order PLUS the recon birds with 12 bombers on their heels! The 12 bombers attacked (proving that I needed a recon bird to put …

How does this happen? I've looked and I don't see anything in the list of platforms (except for barges) but I know scenarios are writen with specific numbers of SAMs. It would be especially nice if we could add Aegis Ashore and THAAD sites to high value targets like...Guam. Does the game allow for the seasonal variation in daylight and darkness in the high northern latitudes? I ask because I'm about to launch an attack on some bad guys in Iceland using some sneaky B-2s. Obviously, I'm sending them in at night but then I paused for thought (Yeah! unusual for me I know) because it doesn't get too dark for too long around Keflavik during August and, no matter how stealthy the aircraft may be, all that cool high tech wizardry doesn't count for much if my billion dollar bombers can be detected by a chap using MKI eyeballs! So, is 'nighttime darkness' a set parameter in the game or does it vary as it does in the real world? And, while I'…

I've got a scenario that requires airborne personnel to dropped onto a beachead. I've simulated this by flying the aircraft with the troops/equipment to the beach head but I have no freaking clue as to whether this worked or not. Can someone lend me a clue?

Hello! When making air-launched harpoon saturation strike against multiple targets in a Red surface group, I find that if the weapons 'pointed' a large ship manage to score a hit then the other weapons, aimed at other units in the group, tend to forget about what they were told to aim for and make a beeline for the ship that's already been hit. I'm guessing that this mimics what the weapons do "in real-life" (so to speak). So, I was wondering if there's a 'tactical/operational' trick to avoid wasting a lot of pricey-gee-wizardry kit from blasting an already stricken target into ever smaller bits? Any and all hints and tips, greatly appreciated!
