File Name: HC_95to10_DB File Submitter: divefreak File Submitted: 30 Nov 2010 File Updated: 12 Jan 2011 File Category: Databases Authors: René Haar Game Version: HCE This is the former EURO_DB. The DB is no longer focused on GIUK/Atlantique Ocean/Mediteranean only, it covers the whole World except the Westpac Area due to Space Limitations (County Names). It is a worldwide DB for the period from around 1995-2010. The main difference to the in Game db is the changed philosophy for base structure. All long range weapons (SAM/SSM) are removed from Harbours/Airbases. So a Scen-Writer has to add mobile Units to replace the SAMs with improved design posibilit…

I have a question regarding to 'upgrade of the graphics database EC2003 in my copy of HCE. I'm inserting images that are "missing" in the directory "HCE \ commondb \ rsr" with the PIC on their ID in the database "pfData2005.mdb" with the procedures " PIC ID = (resxxxx.bmp -154) " , once finished (and exported database) to save the job done for a subsequent installation is sufficient save only the directory "HCE \ commondb \ rsr" and the database file "pfData2005.mdb" ? or are needed also commondb.res and commondb.rsr from the game root directory HCE. Thank you and I apologize for my bad English.

The other day (while washing dishes) I wondered about how far back reverse compatibility of Data Bases is necessary. Does a current database need to be reverse compatible to before the last commercial full release? The 'new' (post EC2003) battlesets that use external databses have now been around for quite some time. When a new release appears necessary databases for the older scenarios could perhaps be provided separately in a 'legacy' section or the like. At some stage we might see built in scenarios from the WWs or cold war period so some way of organising multiple databases would need to be built into the setup anyway. If at every commercial release the data base co…

Brad, just downloaded Don´s latest scen, Diego Garcia, which will bring me a lot of fun and nerve-racking battles Included is the F-35 Lightning. I was surprised that both loadouts Intercept and Patrol only allocate four long range missiles to this aicraft. Thought it carried short range IR guided ones, too. Six to eight all in all. Is that bird really so poorly armed and thus not really well suited for dogfight? Regards, Ralf

File Name: HCCW-140314 (1950-75 era) File Submitter: CV32 File Submitted: 26 Oct 2010 File Category: Databases HCCW-140314 by Brad Leyte (replaces the earlier version, HCCW-140220) The HCCW (Harpoon Commander's Edition 'Cold War' Database) is a custom database for the period 1950-75. The stock HCE scenarios for EC2003 and Westpac will NOT function with this database installed. Use the stock HCE 'commondb.rsr' to ensure platform pic compatibility. The HCCW adheres to a policy of adding platforms but not deleting to retain backwards compatibility with all HCCW scenarios. Copyright @ 2010-2014, Brad Leyte. Well according to the game's database, a South Korean Aeigis ship(?)(KDX-3 King Sejong) is a frigate(FF). But I want to say that, it is actually a Destroyer(DDG). Its weight is 7650 tons, there is no way to be the huge ship is a frigate (considering KDX-2 is a destroyer(DDG) which is lighter than KDX-3) http://blogfile.paran.com/BLOG_959842/2009...5283_kdx3-2.jpg Conclusion, can you guys change this little mistake and upload it as a next official database please?

I still haven't found my old copy of Office 97 and I'm wondering about Access 97 Runtime that you guys have made available to us. Is it more than a viewer or can it be used to modify and save DBs? Create report formats, etc?

Scenario Editor/EC2003/GUIK/Groups/Platform Display Selecteding UK CVH Hermes, CVH Hermes (Falkland), CVH Invincable, CVH Invincable (Falklands) = "error in ReadRescourceHeader () - probably a corrupted .RES/.RSR file" clicking OK = CTD various other platforms display properly this is true of both the 19 May and the 30 May versions I also reDLed to check also the RU Kirov I unzipped the download and overwrote the commondb.res file, is there a different way I should be installing? I would be sure of that, except other platforms show up just fine.

I was looking at the Strategic Defense Intelligence site and came across these three articles: http://www.strategicdefenceintelligence.co...hvi_II_missile/ This one appears to just be a range increase over the one already in the DB. http://www.strategicdefenceintelligence.co...dified_cockpit/ This appears to be a typo (helicopter?) but I did some more research and I believe its about this aircraft: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/india/lca.htm I looked in the in game platform display but didn't see it in there. And last: http://www.strategicdefenceintelligence.co...vladimir_putin/ Not a very informative article but an intersting platform IMO…

Hi Thanks to the HCE launcher it becomes more and more easy to switch between differnet DBs What i have tested so far is that with the launcher the commonddb files need no longer to be in the HCE Mainfolder and we can edit the name of the files. so my idea and proposal is that we db-designers, those who publish databases regulary, provide them in a zip container, containing a folder named "databases" containing the db file named like hcdb_20100506.res, oder HC-50to65-DB_20100427.res, etc... + the "normal" commondb.res file outside the folder for those not using the launcher... Maybee at a later point we can distribute the db files as an installer file? …

File Name: HC-50to65-DB File Submitter: divefreak File Submitted: 13 Apr 2010 File Updated: 31 Dec 2010 File Category: Databases Authors: René Haar/Enrique Mas Game Version: No Information Hi this is an attempt to create a db for the old times when missiles were not the most important weapon.... The last changes to HCE make this possible.... It is a derivate/follow on of the merged Euro and Atlantic DB, therefore it is covering 90% of the world´s navys It is still at a Beta Stage, so you can expect errors, faults and changes.... So all scen designers are welcome to create scens for this db. Fixed some crashes with faulty Loadouts and m…

I recently read (from a link in harpgamer) the article "Mig Alley" re the korean war. It sounds like a great basis for some harpoon scenarios. I've looked at databases and don't see one that seems to fit the era, is that correct? If I use the new weapons/sensors database (good one) any tips on good places to get suitable info on platforms, particularly planes, from the era. Early jet fighters like the Mig 15s and sabres would be a start.

Hi guys, Was browsing the platform editor and size of the F-22 Raptor caught my eye. Raptors size in the game is very small 'though in reality it's almost as large as F-15 wich is large in the game. Does this reflect F-22's stealth capabilities? I thought it's done with RCS? My database is HCDB-100308. btw allthought this is my first post, I have learned so much about HCE by reading HarpGamer forums. So thank you everybody -Anssi

Hello, i am really impressed about the recent versions of Harpoon HCE. I am spending long and funny hours playing this game. However, I would like to know if the following could be improved. I have noticed that some platforms have not picture assigned. Is it possible that we, users, could add some of them by ourselves? Could someone explain me how to do it? If so, could it be possible to add pcitures for different national planes? For example, F-16 is operated by different countries. Is it possible to show a different pictures depending onf the country you are playing? The last question is about the whether the option of of coast guard/boarding by an as…

While working on those EC2003 Giuk scenarios I've noticed, that for some reason you can't put F-35A on CV Mitchel. I know Mitchell is a "what-if" platform, but when F-15E or F-117 can operate from it and F-35A cannot, it seems illogical. In Platform Editor F-117 has a runway class "Small Aircaft", F-15E - "Large Aircraft" and F-35A - "Small Aircaft". CV Mitchel has a runway class "VLarge Aircraft" - so F-35A should be fit, just like F-35B and F-35C.

I need a little help. I have downloaded several different databases from the downloads section. In every case I have attempted to unzip the DB only to get a message that the DB is either corrupted or empty. Downloads from the scenario area are unzipping properly. Does anyone have a suggestion here? DK

Looks like i stumbled over an error and some missing infos... No Info About Dipping and localizer/ranging and HF(3d) seems to be wrong. dipping should be easy to fill. => Sonar used by Helos and Ships, lowered when in use. In the game helos use dipping sonar only while hovering at vlow..... But for the two other fields I need more info to fix it.... How is it working in the game?

Which are the estimated values of runway length for take-off and landing? Is this hypothesis correct? I will wellcome any values: STOL aircraft: 50 meters or lesser. Small aircraft: 51-500 meters. Medium aircraft: 501-1000 meters. Large aircraft: 1001-2000 meters. Very Large aircraft: 2001 meters or more.
