  5. File Name: New Russia Part One File Submitter: JSF File Submitted: 10 Aug 2014 File Category: GIUK Scenario Background: September, 15th, 2014. One month ago, Russia invaded the Ukraine. This had been well prepared and the Ukrainian forces were outgunned and overrun in a month. Russia has taken control over the whole country amazingly fast and installed a Moscow friendly regime. Nato acted helpless and chattered in different tongues. The US look weak and are heavily involved in the Middle East where the IS forces gain territory by the day. Russia has decided to make use of this perfect strategic situation. It has massed troops, armored vehicles and …

  6. Started by Akmatov,

Looking to create some low unit density scenarios for experimenting with possibilities. Wondering if the AI does anything. Examples: CIS base has MiGs with an AA loadout. I fly in and shoot down the 2 plane CAP and no other ac are launched - the interceptors just sit passively on base. CIS base has bombers with a surface loadout, victory conditions are based on the CIS damaging a Blue base and a CIS recon flight flys into radar range of a base. Nothing happens. Back to wondering if the AI does anything. Information and advise would be very welcome.

  8. Would anyone like to volunteer to recreate the [Original IOPG] scenario "12.0 ...and then there were two"? This would need to be tested and ready to go by mid-December 2024 at the latest. Parameters: 1. Similar groups, units, victory conditions to the original scenario. 2. Use EC2003 IOPG or Custom BattleSet. 2. Use HCDB or HCDB2 (HCDB2 would need a custom BattleSet from the BS Builder to make distribution reasonable). 3. Adjust design for increased realism (would Kuzenetsov really carry that many planes in that timeframe, similar for Nimitz, ...) 4. Add two submarines per side

A Harpoon Commander's Edition scenario for the EC2003 Battle for GIUK Gap Battleset and the HCDB-130818 1980-2015 Era Platform Database. A submarine-only scenario without other diversions, inspired by some old scenario booklets of the Harpoon 3 series, good for testing submarines, submarine tactics, sonars, torpedoes and other ASW weapons. Perhaps the Western submarines are numerically over-represented, but it's reflecting the original and very reduced in number of submarines paper scenarios. Also it's configured …

I was designing a scenario and trying to get the sensors on the ships to be active at the start of the scenario. I entered the sensor command at waypoint #0 in the course editor, but when I start up the scenario all the sensors on the home players ships are turned off. Is this normal or did I not do the right procedure to start both sides with sensors active. The base sensors are on only the home ship sensors start in the off position. Thanks, Steve

File Name: Four Minute Warning File Submitter: CV32 File Submitted: 15 Sep 2014 File Category: GIUK From 1953, British citizens were told that they could expect four minutes of warning before an impending Soviet nuclear attack. Once the alert was given, television and radio networks all over the country would be interrupted by a broadcast warning, as well as activation of the national air raid siren system. In practise, the warning would have likely been much less than four minutes. The RAF Bomber Command Main Force, and its V class bombers - the Valiant, Vulcan, and Victor - was intended to guard against this threat and to prevent the neutralization of Britis…

  17. Hey, I was just about to dive in and revise this old classic when I found myself wondering if anyone through the years had already done so. The problem with this scenario (as reiterated by the AAR I ran across in my search) is that, with the new sonar modeling, subs are much harder to detect. That, plus those 54nm-range wake homing torps, makes it nearly impossible for the CVBG to escape US territorial waters without losing the majority of its ships (including the CVN). Anyway, once I'm done I'll be sure to post it up here. My goal is to go back and revise all the original Cold War Gone Hot scenarios from the GIUK and NACV battlesets. I have really fond memories…

  18. Started by pmaidhof,

I'm toying around in the 1.0 Vengeance found in the Mediterranean Battleset. I am maneuvering the CVBG back out of the Adriatic Sea and have both a CAP and an AEW + CAP up. The AEW aircraft detected a DDG Suffren in the Libyan port of Tubruk, which I investigate, outside of game, to find out it is a French built AAW destroyer. I believe that the French have had an on again off again love affair with Libya - is this ship considered hostile Libyan Navy, hostile French Navy, or friendly French Navy? Enjoying HCE...again.
