  1. Very good news. For years I observe the same actuation when a helicopter porter ship is sunk (the same thing observed for carrier based planes, when the carrier is sunk). The helicopter leaves the ship group and the previous formation, and flight 0º northwards. The helicopter from the sunked ship should stay in the formation, and look for a alternate unsunked ship as base.
  2. Sea Dart ? A very slow rythm movie, but you must wait to the end of the film .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IosXz9rNsJw
  3. Modified historical complement of II Brigada Hispana, 3-G-28, 4-G-28, 5-G-28, 6-G-28, from 40 to 27 x S.79. Added nominally II Brigada Hispana, 3-G-28, 4-G-28, 5-G-28, 6-G-28 (S.79), Valenzuela/Zaragoza (ZXa) to the OOB.
  4. Perhaps we can eliminate the ground attack effects of guns with caliber inferior than 30mm, as of negligible effects.
  5. In my Battle of Ebro scenario the oposition consistently bomb AND strafe my airfields. If my airplanes are in range, the game engine request me about use the guns against the enemy airfields.
  6. Small, beautiful, realistic and ... dificult scenario. This scenario reafirms my opinion about the excessive PH and range of anti-aircraft artillery. Requieres a precise planification, and a lot of luck to evade the ship and land based AAA.
  7. File Name: Battle of the Ebro, Summer 1938, Air Operations File Submitter: broncepulido File Submitted: 17 Oct 2009 File Category: MEDC Battle of the Ebro, Air Operations, near 14 August 1938. For use with the HCE World Wars (HCWW) database. Image: The museum at the former Spanish civil war airfield at La Sénia in the very south of the Catalonia region features this two-dimensional mock-up of the Bf 109B-2 as flown by Harro Harder, commander of Fighter Group 88 of the Legion Condor and participant at the 1936 Olympic Games. From Wikipedia Commons. Air Strikes and some AAA added in the new uploaded file. The fight for the air dominance in the first days of the II Spanish Republic last offensive. After the "coming to the sea/llegada al mar" by the Nationalist land forces in Vinaroz (15 April 1938)(ZVa), the Republic owned territory was divided in two parts. The Republican land operations initiated 25 July 1938, and were centrated in the river Ebro crossing and staigned in the take of the cross-roads town of Gandesa (ABa). 14 August 1938 marks the first encounter with the new Polikarpov I-16 Type 10 Rata/Mosca. This is a scenario only historically inspired, I regret. The fragmentary data, bad records, erroneously transcripted airfield names in very obscure and secondary places, confuse airfield denomination (as example, the mentionated case of the twin airfield of Sanjurjo/Valenzuela/Garrapinillos/Zaragoza) and constant controversial issues about everything prevents more precision in the orders of battle and number of planes employed. The aim is the same for the two sides, shot down enemy planes, to bomb enemy airbases (historically also direct support of land forces, not represented), and to obtain air supremacy to guarantee so the success in the terrestrial actions. About the command, control and communications issue, remember in this time very few planes where radio equipped. 8. broncepulido replied to Joe K's topic in General
The Stalintc designed scenario "Operation Philippine Crunch" is a very interesting small scenario, with plenty of land forces action: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?a...mp;showfile=297 I've played it many times, and I will do it many times more. And was my motivation for the development of more detailed Tanks/AFVs, SP air defence and ground units in my personal databases.
  9. Very good, forgeted and transcendent scenario. And I've not thinked on it. I will play it tomorrow (or this night after my home return, if I drink only a small amount of not-mentionable-drinks, hehehe).
  10. Thanks for the tip about"FastStone Capture" (and the scenarios), I will try it.
  11. I don't hate LCS, we can't hate picturesque and very erroneous projects, as Me-163, FICON or Ford Edsel, they're the salt of the technology story. But we can't depend on it, neither. The spanish small AEGIS alternative, Fridtjof Nansen (and his sisters with other evocative names), smaller derived from the proved F-100 design and in service from 2006 in the Norwegian Navy without known problems (rough seas in the norwegian seas, and a traditional seafaring nation, remember): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fridtjof_Nansen_class_frigate KDX-II, KDX-IIa with AEGIS, not yet in service: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chungmugong_Y...class_destroyer
  12. How do you capture the scenario screenshot ?
  13. The new french ASMP-A, a very advanced nuclear strike cruise missile, is now in service, from 1 October 2009: http://www.defense-aerospace.com/articles-...ch-service.html http://www.meretmarine.com/article.cfm?id=111326 http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air-Sol_Moyenne_Port%C3%A9e http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/france/bomber/asmp.htm
  14. Yes, for years I was not using the grid lines, I don't note the absence of grid lines in the last versions of the game !!!
  15. HCWW-090925 has interesting stuff (He-59, He-60, Ju-52, He-111B-2, Ju-87A, Hs-123, Hs-126) for Spanish Civil War scenarios, perhaps this weekend ....
  16. There has been a strong polemic in Spain last months between the Basque autonomous government and the Central government, asking the Basque Government for armed soldiers (Tercio de Armada/Spanish Marines) in the fishing ships in the Indian Ocean, following the practice of the French, due to the complications and limitations that we have the spaniards to use firearms. This incident will be therefore more problematic than it shows off. It has based a P-3 Orion between Djibouti (Summer) and Mombasa (Kenya, in Winter) to protect the fishing ships, but his use is very limited. Rear admiral Teodoro López Calderón said publicly in the recent summer course of El Escorial, at which I was present, and said it fully of pride, that from January until July, 2009 the P-3 Orion had flewed 9 missions and a whole of 50 hours (which, Harpoon players as we're, gives us an idea of his scarce real coverage). It is necessary to remember also that similar coverage can be provided by only one german P-3 Orion Alemán and only one French Atlantique, both based in Djibouti. From July 2009 a french E-3F is also present in Djibouti. Some links (in spanish): http://www.ucm.es/info/cv/subweb/prog/programas/71104.html http://www.ucm.es/info/cv/cursos2009_pdf/71104.pdf http://www.abc.es/20091002/nacional-nacion...0910021020.html (a today press article saying the ship was 800 miles out of the protected zone, but I doubt it can be so far away, and some mention to the spanish Orion flying over the ship).
  17. I remember serious test with Kaman Seasprite and AIM-7 Sparrow. http://www.aviastar.org/helicopters_eng/kaman_sea.php (but I don't remember the mentioned usage of AIM-9 Sidewinder)
  18. More ideas about pilot's quality in http://www.avalanchepress.com/SWWAS_pilots.php with statistics and data, but too complex in this level of HCE WWII DB, we can return to this subject after more air combat tests.
  19. More news about the Air Wing of Kuznetsov: MiG-24K to replace Su-33 (in french): http://www.meretmarine.com/article.cfm?id=111215 In short, Russia to replace the Su-33 with about 24xMiG-29K from 2015.
  20. Big job Wombat. I'm returned at home, thinking in new scenarios for old times ....
  21. Very detailed job, Brad, I see the HF/DF station too. I'm yet in Pyrenees. New platforms and new ideas, the next week, about some Spanish Civil War scenario.
  22. For me, Streetfighter is the same mess as LCS. Somebody in this forum sayed "forget LCS and purchase a well probed design of european frigate". I'm of the same opinion, also about Streetfighter, first step to purchase cheap and probed PTM of a traditional source/shipyard, and only after fantasize about innovative, technologically risked, designs.
  23. Thanks for the new HCWW-090917, more platforms for more scenarios, but no the next week, I will be at http://www.ieee.es/archivos/subidos/Activi...%2020090925.pdf
