For those of you not active on social media, you may not have heard that long time Harpoon community member Byron 'JClark' Audler passed away on 15 April. His notable contributions included being a knowledgeable ship fitter (irl), scenario author, HC2002 program manager, and HULL mailing list moderator, and a Lifetime Pooner award winner. His bio can be found at Ed Ladner's website Dr Who's Harpoon Pages here : https://www.harpoonpages.com/Bios/bio022.htm Fair winds and following seas.

My family will be in Ohio March 19-22. The main event is visiting the National Museum of the USAF the 20th and 21st. Can I count on you to meet up either of those days (or night of the 19th or morning of 22nd)? If we manage to get any kind of a crowd, I'll see about renting a spot to hang out and get our gaming on. Thanks for considering! https://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/ The museum is an amazing place. I've been twice and have zero qualms about going again despite my favorite aircraft being a Navy bird and as such, not present.

A tool for aspiring warship designers to crank out some reasonably accurate numbers on how your ship will perform from a staying afloat and tooling around perspective. I suggest looking at the 3.0 betas rather than version 2 for something that is easier to get running. http://www.springsharp.com/

If you haven't seen this movie already, I recommend it for the adrenaline and nostaglia rush alone. Put your technical knowledge in park, of course, and enjoy the ride. ** Spoilers ** For the F-14 lovers out there -- our own TonyE included -- you won't be disappointed. 😁

I had hoped to get one more build out before being swept away by the holidays but didn't quite make it. We had a day of maintenance (hair cuts, snow shovelling, bank deposits, laundry, cookie making, Christmas show watching, paper snowflake making, dentist & doctor visits) before the main attractions start tomorrow! Be well and joyous, see ya next week or a little sooner if I sneak away

This was sent to me by an old shipmate who lives in Illinois now. There were some images with it, but I can't figure out how to post them with the text. Buddha This makes you think twice before complaining True Story..... Luke AFB is west of Phoenix and is rapidly being surrounded by civilization that complains about the noise from the base and its planes, forgetting that it was there long before they were. A certain lieutenant colonel at Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the back. Apparently, an individual who lives somewhere near Luke AFB wrote the local paper complaining about a group of F-16s that disturbed his/her day at the mall. When that in…

Should anyone want to buy me a present, Mizu Super Yachts look a whole lot like warships on the outside and would be a prime choice of gift. Now if anyone does give me such a gift, I'll take it for one cruise, put it up for sale, quit my job, and write warfare simulations for the rest of my life. So win-win for all of us, right? MIZU 174' Oceanfast Superyacht For Sale Oceanfast Yachts (denisonyachtsales.com) [just an example]

The pandemic has encroached again leaving us as a family of two full-time working adults with a 100% distance learning child and a daycare child whose room at daycare is closed for two weeks of quarantine. Pray that we don't get sick (the daycare protocols are pretty strict so we're not too worried). See you on the other side!

Thank you veterans for your service. The very human aspect of war detests me, the individual stories of comradeship and overcoming adversity inspire. Oh, and the weapons of war are just amazing! Carry on Harpooners

Our hosting provider is doing infrastructure upgrades (from spinning disks to SSD as well as ancient AMD to somewhat less ancient Intel Xeon machines) on February 28 into the 29th so there may be more downtime than usual but hopefully a faster forum on the other side of the upgrades!
