  4. Thanks ! It works very well, and I don't need stop/loiter the plane
  5. But I see before, when you set the speed of a ASW plane to "loiter", the plane stopped and launch a sonobouy, but now no, How I can drop a sonobuoy manually, there's a key combination ? (And now I remember, It was a key combination to drop tanks and ordnance, is implemented now, has some utility ?)
  6. 7. Even worse, the Genie was an UNGUIDED rocket, not a guided missile !!! http://www.designation-systems.net/dusrm/r-2.html
  8. broncepulido replied to wombat1417's topic in General
Some others previous conclusions about this topic here: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?s...entry9465 Some of my personal deductions in the same place: I supposse the victim is jammee because at 210 n.m. range a lightning bolt icon is positionated over the victim.
  9. Some references about the Kuznetsov's air wing: The last Flight International World Air Force inventory list only 23 Flanker in the Russian Navy (Su-33 and some Su-27 for proficiency/training). The production of the Su-33 is estimated near of only 24 planes. The space occupied for the 12 x SS-N-19 (angled mounts) in the front of the carrier precludes the use of a big underdeck hangar (In my own DB I use a estimated capacity of 52 planes). In the 1995 deployment to Adriatic Sea, his composition was (as Air International and other media of the time): 16 x Su-33 8 x Su-25UTG (carrier training variant, unarmed, production estimated in 10) 10 x Ka-27/32 (maximum 28 x Ka-27/32). Jane's Fighting Ships 2004-2005 (we can read also: "... the russian claim a top limit of 60"): 18x Su-27K 4 x Su-25UTG (carrier training variant, unarmed, production estimated in 10) 15x Ka-27 2 x Ka-27 RDL (Ka-31 AEW) Conway's All The World Fightings Ships 1947-1995: 18- 24 x Su-27K 12-6 x Helix a/C In service estimated dates: CV Kuznetsov: 1991. Ka-25PL Hormone-A: 1967 Ka-25Ts Hormone-B: 1967 http://www.aviastar.org/helicopters_eng/ka-25c.php Ka-27PL Helix-A: 1981. Ka-31 Helix-AEW: 1992. (Or 2002: http://www.deagel.com/Tactical-Support-Hel...a000767002.aspx ) Ka-29TB Helix-B(Assault): 1985 http://www.aviastar.org/helicopters_eng/ka-29.php i.e. only the more modern Helix in Kuznetsov, I never read about Hormone in the carrier air wing. Also, I think is redundant the use of Ka-25Ts Hormone-B and Ka-27 RDL.
  10. I suppose the author talks about "intelligent and autonomous" mechanical beings, capables of own ethical decisions. We are far of this situation. Our war "robots" are only semiautonomous or remote controlled drones. And this and other relationated topics are well know themes in traditional Science Fiction, as most evident in the "Robots" cycle of Isaac Asimov: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Laws_of_Robotics mmmm, now I remember the up to date digital cameras have face reconigtion sofware, and can detect a face smiling and shot when we're smiling, and in a picture with some subjets, the camera can detect the (previously registred) family or friends faces, and shot the picture only when the registred faces smiled. May be this is a shape of the things to come in artificial intelligence.
  11. The are dead links, and I dont saw the pictures !Buy I finded in this site: http://www.dlund.20m.com/MMC1.html these pictures: http://www.dlund.20m.com/aa_slideshows/USS...re/gallery.html
  12. Searching for data, I finded a interesting link of a personal study of North Korean warships: http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthrea...aval+Power+2007
  13. Another topic, increase the range of the A-7 radar APQ-126/148, from the unusable 10 n.m. to a more realistic 80 n.m. (but I see now in High Tide is listed with a 150 nm. range). I know our idea of use of the paper rules data, but I read this data clearly some days ago in : http://www.tpub.com/content/MIL-SPEC/MIL-F...81898A00025.htm in 3.4.2.8.3 we can read: "Range coverage: range scales of 5, 10, 20, 40 and 80 sea miles shall be selectable by the pilot"
  14. And in relation at the pirate launch data, I think good the values of RCS=91 and Speed=60 of the pirate launch/missile in the DB, but I've not tested the concept yet, mmm.... more thinking ...
  15. mmmm, a very simple and almost indetectable pirate launch, for pirate scenarios based in the operative procedures of the pirates, the DB has a mother ship (the entry 2450 "Pirate"), but I think we need the autonomous, detached, previously released for the mother ship, pirate launch, i.e. for scenarios based in time of presence of pirate ships and launch in determined sea zones, undetected and potentially hostile. I've read in the paper today also about dhows with occult engines, capables of 25 knots. Hehehe, looking for data, and thinking from the morning about the pirate scenario, just now in the news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7736885.stm ... and with a useful map
  16. Change the Runway from Small Helipad to Large Helipad ?
  17. Very difficult matters to simulate in our HCE, I fear !
  18. Thanks you very much !!! My latest paper copy of Flight International Air Forces inventory is of 16-22 november 2004, but I miss the comments about each air force ....
  19. Finded today by hazard, a schematic view of PLUTO: http://www.up-ship.com/eAPR/index.htm
  20. About Regulus and other rockets and missiles, his demise, and evolution of this and others high speed-high flight cruise missiles, I think the best internet source is http://www.astronautix.com/ If do you want serious knowledge about this topic, this is a basic source. Two fundamental entries for old supersonic cruise missiles, and some fancy flights .... (My aestetically favorite ? Navaho, of course. Warning !!!! Sometimes very deep text on this site!!!): http://www.astronautix.com/lvfam/uscsiles.htm http://www.astronautix.com/lvfam/sovsiles.htm And the most impressive, Tu-123: "Exotic design for an intercontinental missile using a gas core fission reactor for cruise propulsion. Studied circa 1957. The Tu-123 was an exotic missile design using an airbreathing kerosene/nuclear mixed propulsion engine." http://www.astronautix.com/lvs/tu123.htm
  21. Impressive personal studio of present and future aircraft carriers: http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?t=144822
  22. Another option, finded today in a curious site: http://radarproblems.com/calculators/horizon.htm
  23. Postman arrived today. After 16 years or so, new paper rules and books received, South Atlantic War, White Ensign, Sea of Dragons and High Tide, next days I'll do suscription to Sitrep and old issues. What a lot of stuff! Hurrah !!!
  24. Incredible, we've missed in the DB a plane shot down in air-to-air combat the last month: Zlin 143 !!! hehehe (but I remember, this planes destroyed some Sri Lanka jet fighters in air-to-ground strikes, and I remember, too, some previous request for An-2 and/or Po-2 (WWII and Korean War), we can also think in the MFI-15 in the Biafra's War): Some news reports and some comments: http://www.sundayobserver.lk/2008/08/31/sec03.asp http://www.dailymirror.lk/2007/04/18/life/02.asp http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-44...-Sri-Lanka.html http://www.asiantribune.com/?q=node/13151 http://s188567700.online.de/CMS/index.php?...4&Itemid=47 http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthrea...8922&page=6 The aircraft: http://www.varman.com/product_aircraft_Z143L.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu_J-7#Sri_Lanka http://www.aeronautics.ru/m/gallery008.htm Some pictures: http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?t=111061 The MFI-15 and the Count von Rosen, and relationated topics: http://www.combatreform2.com/killerbees3.htm
