Hi I am using harpoon commander's is edition. Using the scenario editor, I am editing a harpoon scenario, I want to add Sam sites. Please tell me where I will fine the instructions on how to add the Sam sites. Thank you, John Perry

It's been quite some time since I touched the Scenario Editor, and a question came up but I can't recall the answer: Is it possible to have an air strike in-progress or at least imminent at the start of a scenario... or do all air attacks have to be launched from a base? In other words, is it possible to set it up so that the player will be under attack as soon as he starts playing the scenario, or will there always be the time required for the AI to launch a strike from a base and travel to the attack position?

Hi All Returning to HCE after a considerable abscence and trying to remember how most of it all works. In putting together user made scenario I've been trying to place a generic airbase but when you create the base it doesn't seem to appear on the map. Experimenting a little I found the same problem with all the non geographic bases. Analysing the scenario showed they were listed as being present but invisible it would seem ...is this a glitch or am I missing a step someplace? On an unrelated topic, do shipborne decoys have any effect in game ....they seem to have numerical loadouts but I've yet to see any deployed.

Can someone give me the file name for the latest version of scenario editor? What I have now is ScenEdit32. It still crashed when I try to set the time limit. TIA, Byron

Hello, Scenario Editor suddenly became accessible. It may have happened after on of the MS updates to WIN 7, but I'm only guessing as nothing else had been loaded. I have tried an un-install and re-install from the CD and from current download files, but no joy. Anybody have any ideas? Cheers

no matter what i have tried i can't get scenario editor to work with my 64 bit system, i have tried compatiblility modes of all sorts with vista and still no effect, i miss this editor, any great minds have a simple solution?

I just purchase HCCE from matrix games and I cannot access the scenario edito or the orders writing software on my windows vista laptop. Is there a work-around to this problem? best regards John

I recently downloaded HC2015.028SE to get access to the Scenario Editor in Windows & (64 bit). I would like to stop using the old editor in virtual XP. The editor that I downloaded seems to work fine with a couple of exceptions. 1. When I select ships or planes and use "DISPLAY" in the selection window, a box with a picture and text comes up. However, when I select "Weapons" the resulting box has internal windows which are too narrow. The damage is outside the right edge of the lower box and the ranges of some aircraft are truncated. 2. I can create bases from the pull down menu, but when I use CTRL+B, I get a position box. I was wondering if their is a la…

I haven played with the Classic Scenario Editor in some time, so maybe I just forgot the answer to this one. Under the Misc pull-down menu, what does AI Settings do? If no group is selected, it says an active group is required. If a group is selected, it doesn't do anything that I can see. I find no mention of it in any of the documentation. Thanx, Buddha

Hi Folks, Apologies for the cross-posting - I put this up at the MatrixGames forum, it was getting a lot of hits but no replies. guess all the action is now with HUE. In any case... It's been a while - I finally upgraded to a Win64 machine, only to realize afterwards that I don't have XP Mode (Home "Premium" - what exactly is premium about it???). Anyways, I'd like to continue running the HCE editor - I saw the guides here on using XPMode that comes with Pro, Ultimate, etc. Can anyone confirm that VMLite will do the same thing? Other options I haven't heard of? Appreciate the guidance. Thanks, -Armando

I finally tracked down a copy of Harpoon Classic (DOS) & installed it. However, Scenario Editor won't launch (error message: :Missing HARPOON Resource File(s)" I have uninstalled & re-installed several times now, but get the same error. The game itself runs great. Any thoughts?

Ok, this is driving me nuts, LOL I'm producing custom Harpoon scenarios, but the AI seems not to do what I am asking him to do. I have programmed multiple air patrols and air strikes to take place from starting from different AI bases against players units, yet when I play the scenario it seems that only half of the assigned attacks come at me. I looked again if the aircraft had enough range to accomplish the tasks they were given and it all looked fine. Does anyone have an explanation for this? Could it be that by programming too many aircraft launches in the scenario editor, the AI gets some kind of an "overflow" and only launches part of them? Cheers,…

Editing a new scenario with the new SE, apparently everything OK. But I'm not sure about the scenario size limit, it's keep at circa 64 Kb?

I tried playing FONOPS off Venezuela 2020. Historical/Alternate History Scenario. 1.0.0 on HUCE. I couldn't play it because it needs scenario version 5, and I have version 3. I can't find a version 5 anywhere. Anyone have any thoughts?

I understand how to load a user scenario (my experience with Harpoon goes back to Classic on floppies) but I am unclear about databases and mods (when I need them and how to install them). I checked the FAQ but still don't know how to begin so here I am. I downloaded the "Lisbon we have a problem" scenario ver 2 from the WestPac section and assumed it would run without a problem but I got an annex error. Not a clue what that means or how to remedy the problem. Can I assume that if the scenario is in the GUIK, NACV, MED, IOPG or WestPac sections it should run without any database or mod addons? What about those South Atlantic or Caribbean or other scenarios -…

Basically, if like me you have a "new" PC or laptop, chances are you're not only running vista, but vista 64. As you might have noticed, it doesn't run any 16 bit programs, and HCE's Scenario Editor (WScenedt) is most definitely a 16 bit program. The first obvious solution, is if unlike me, you have a second home PC that runs XP. Then, it's simple : set the old PC to receive a Desktop Remote Connection, and connect from vista. Voila. Hey all: Went and bought the Harpoon Ultimate edition and have been enjoying it immensely. However I noticed something that for me is a little offputting. Down the bottom of the game screen there seems to be a scrolling text advertisement for various image packs and the like. It also speaks highly of buying the game, which is a little strange since I bought it online from Matrix games. Is this stuff supposed to be there? Can I turn it off? Thanks Ant
