Is there a work-around to this problem? best regards John Vista problems, what a shock. Are you getting any sort of error message? Also, did the install run OK? That infuriating User Account Control may have caused a problem with your install. I had some difficulties myself before I wen t back to XP, but never to the point where anything wouldn't run at all. Is there a work-around to this problem? best regards John Hi John, Please see http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=2449 for the SE not running. Usually players find they have the 64-bit version of Vista (or Windows 7) and that is why they can't natively run the SE. As for the orders writer, please provide more detail about any error message or prompts or how it isn't working if it is loading. Welcome (back) to the fray!

Buddha I am not getting any error messages at all. I click on either one and absolutely nothing happens. Harpoon runs fine. Just these two particular functions do not. regards John
October 31, 200916 yr orders writing software Perhaps try double-clicking OrdWrite.exe directly from the game directory and let us know what happens (even if all you see a window flash up and go away). This one mystifies me a bit since I haven't had the orders writer not run.
November 1, 200916 yr orders writing software Perhaps try double-clicking OrdWrite.exe directly from the game directory and let us know what happens (even if all you see a window flash up and go away). This one mystifies me a bit since I haven't had the orders writer not run. Before I went back to XP, I had some pretty strange Vista experiences with various things not running. Occasionally they are caused by things running in the background that seemingly have no relation to the problem. I had an RPG Character editor did the same thing mentioned here until I disabled a Virtual Encrypted Drive program running in the background. What I'd suggest, if all else fails, is to use msconfig to disable all start-up programs and see if that solves the problem. If it does, then reenable them one at a time until the culprit is located. A little time consuming, but I've solved more than one problem this way. Buddha
