For labor day weekend the goal was to challenge the laws of physics and go from electricity + water -> combustibles -> surplus of mechanical energy + electricity. In other words, run an engine from water and end up with more electricity (via generator) than we put into the operation. Sadly we didn't accomplish that small feat but we did blow apart the choke mechanism on a 2-stroke engine when we fed in a bit too much of the combustibles . This project was undertaken by my friend Mark and I after being sent very ambiguous documents and 'plans' by friend Amy. The physics laws challenging idea is that if you apply a certain frequency signal into water, elec…

So why is it that there are treaties against Anti-Satellite Weapons and combat shotguns, which everybody uses in violation of those treaties, yet everyone almost without exception follows the Gevena Conventions to the letter?

The RAF has two official museums- this is the one I can get to on my Oyster card... Understandably, it focuses on the RAF, but there are some American and German stuff, mostly from the WW1 and WW2 period. Information boards could do with an update in some cases, but there's plenty of aircraft there. Will be pictures uploaded.

Hi all, As some of you know ive been moving home and have been settled in for a about 2 weeks now! British Telecom have managed to screw up the installation of the communications line to my apartment, so while I should have been able to order my broadband yesterday, that is not going to happen now until BT can sort out the mess they have made. Once ive ordered the broadband it should be another week or two before I get back online.... Sorry to Tony and the beta team for my absence, I will hopefully be back soon, ill update when the broadband is ordered. Cheers

Today my dad and I left on the great journey to Origins (http://www.originsgamefair.com/) where I'm to show the Harpoon colors, meet UncleHarpoon and Bond. We zipped 450 odd miles from Minnesota to Bloomington, Illinois. The hotel borders the airport where the Prairie Air Museum is located (http://www.prairieaviationmuseum.org/). It isn't open until tomorrow but once the heat of the day subsided I couldn't wait and walked over to the museum. It is small, but it has an F-14D as promised! I thought I had the self restraint to wait until tomorrow to see it but alas I couldn't and man is she beautiful! There is a ladder up to the cockpit too so at least I'll get to see …

When I was in the KSA during Gulf War I, a picture was printed on page 1 of the local paper showing a cormorant covered with oil as a result of Saddam's despicable decision to pump crude into the water of the gulf. I believe the photo was distributed fairly widely at the time, and I'm trying to find it available for download someplace. I was working in Saudi Arabia as a civilian at the time, and one of Uncle Saddam's Scuds went off in the desert and blew the windows out of the back of my house. Passing out on the couch that day was the luckiest thing I ever did. Strange as it may sound, seeing that poor bird covered with oil ticked me of more than anything else I e…
