Weapon entry 26636 Mk ASTOR anti-submarine nuclear torpedo is rated as 40 damage points against submarine, it should be nuke, 38915 as in damage points against surface ship.

The CWDB lacks a submarine entry type Balao (G II/50), with the names: Catfish, Clamagore, Cobbler, Cochino (sunk 1949), Corporal, Cubera, Diodon, Dogfish, Greenfish, Halfbeak, Trumpetfish, Tiru and Tusk. (Tiru is listed on two separate entries on the CWDB, but only on her Guppy III conversion, not in the previous Guppy II configuration). Or as provisional measure add those names to entry 6346 Tench (G II/50), with very similar systems. No, it's not an easy matter that of the US submarines post-war conversions (SSK (SSK-I Gato, SSK-II Gato and three Balao more in 1954), Guppies, Fleet Snorkel, "Fleet Streamlined" (that's my personal designation, Fleet boats without deck guns and with a very light streamlining on sail and periscope fairings, as example USS Balao) , and that without thinking on the SSR and SSG and SSL and SSO conversions!!!).

The 6349 submarine entry Balao (G II/67) lacks the boat's names. They should be all the Guppy II conversions with origin in the Balao class not sunk (Cochino, 1949), converted to Guppy III (nine conversions)or converted to Guppy IIA (Diodon, 1953-1954?). Very probably at the time of conversion of Diodon all were refitted with Guppy IIA sensors (BQR-2, BQS-2, BQR-3. Later at the 1950s end BQR-3 deleted and BQS-2 replaced with BQS-4. DUUG-1 added circa 1962). Most of the data came from the analysis of "US Submarines since 1945" by Norman Friedman, US Naval Institute 1994,pages 40-94, and as mainframe support the Guppy entry on Wikipedia. The names of the 6349 entry should be: Catfish, Cubera, Dogfish, Halfbeak and Tusk.

File - GIUK - Four Minute Warning
SPOLIER ALERT After some 9 hours 30 minutes play time a Victor B.1 (second plane of the first wave, planes launched in attack missions against Olenya in groups from 1 to 5 planes, the last remaining Soviet base with 25 Soviet nuclear bombers and some 22 fighters on the ground at the moment of anhilation, a previous Victor B.1 was shoot-down by a Yak-25 patrol some ten minutes earlier) destroys Olenya and the game is clearly over for the Soviet player, no more air incursions against Britain after this strike. Meanwhile, a Foxtrot was detected on the English Channel hostigating the HMS Blake CL surface group, but evaded ASW action. Also, as last act, a Type T-43 minesweeper converted in radar picket and beached in a Baltic island overkilled many times by a Vulcan B.2 with one Yellow Sun Mk2!

SPOILER ALERT By the end the last Valiant with the last Red Beard was shoot-down after 5 hours and 15 minutes of game (fly) at some 140 nm SE of Oleny, and his escorting Vulcan B.2 flying at very high altitude jamming enemy radars and dropping chaff barrier (window) to attract the enemy defensive action only some ten minutes earlier. But now the V-Bombers are almost rearmed and refuelled on the UK airfields, and the second wave of British nuclear bomberts will take-off in a few minutes towards Olenya ...

Russian Navy receives first Ka-52KM
I think it can't not to be practical (as the old proposals of the Sea Apache or SV-22 with Harpoon), but it can be an image boost because the Russian carency of shipborne aircrafts. The Kh-38 is not in the HCDB (neither in service, I think), but here some useful data: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A5-38 (states in service date December 2012).

SPOILER ALERT After 3 hours 52 minutes play, Leningrad was ultimatly destroyed by the last in-flight armed nuclear bomber, a Valiant B.1 firing a tactical Red Beard (keeping another in reserve on the bomb bay). At the same time, ulterior nuclear bombing of UK is prevented by refuelled and rearmed Lightnings fighters with Firestreak air-to-air missiles and 30mm guns, shooting-down a wave of second rate Tu-4A Bull (B-29 copy) nuclear bombers. Now, the last Valiant with the last Red Beard is going North escorted with one solitary Vulcan B.2 with GP loadout with his conventional bombs expended, but jamming enemy radars and dropping chaff barrier (window), towards the last Soviet base, Olenya ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Beard_(nuclear_weapon) http://www.skomer.u-net.com/projects/redbeard.htm http://nuclearweaponarchive.org/Uk/UKArsenalDev.html https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ту-4 http://www.airwar.ru/enc/bomber/tu4.html http://b-29s-over-korea.com/shortstories/russianclone.htm

SPOILER ALERT After 3 hours 47 minutes of play time, one of the two last in-flight armed nuclear bombers (a Victor B.1A with 1xYellow Sun Mk2, the other is a Valiant B.1 with 2xRed Beard tactical bombs) penetrates the Leningrad defenses, damaged the city 83%, destroy all the planes bases (22xfighters and 2xMiG-19 in flight!) and obliterates the near SA-1 site and an AAA placement.

About the first marks of the English Electric Lightning and his unguided air-to-air rockets. The loadouts 56000 and 56001 are employed on the Lightning F.1/F.1A/F.2,and are equipped with: 56000 2xFirestreak, 2x51mm rocket packs, Decoys Gen 1. 56001 6x30mm gun, Decoys Gen 1. But the Lightning design of the early marks is actually equipped with 2x30mm guns (ever intalled) on the upper nose, and with the option of install on the belly or another 2x30mm guns, or 2xFirestreak, or 2x22x51mm rocket pads. As consequence the loadouts, should be something as: 56000 2xFirestreak, 3x30mm. 56001 2x51mm rocket packs, 3x30mm gun. Other notes: - I don't see any references in any site or book about decoys employed in Lightning. - On the Thunder & Lightnings site is stated the F.2 and later Lightning were not equipped with air-to-air rockets, but it's not clear is true or not. Some references: http://www.airvectors.net/aveeltg.html Were is clearly explained: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_Electric_Lightning (a lot of details) http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/aircraft/types/english-electric-lightning.htm http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/lightning/history.php

Fascinating. SPOILERS ALERT Another try (and remember, the Soviet bombers coming at Low height, and the Bloodhound 1 and Thunderbird 1 SAMs only can be shot at targets from Medium height and over). After one hour and three minutes of play time I've loss some six Vulcan bombers, shoot-down by long-range Tu-16Ye Badger-H (60) (1960+)OECM planes! Casually I ever reduce on my DB the number of shots of defensive guns in bombers to only one shot by barrel (on this case 6x23mm guns) but casually when I did tune-up the CWDB I did change from 22 to 6 the number of 23mm shots in the Tu-16Ye (1970+) and in the Tu-16Ye (1957+), but not in the Tu-16Ye (1960+) present on this scenario shooting down my poor and armless nuclear bombers!!! On the first minutes of play SLBM did smash one of the RAF bases, but then all the V-Bombers were on flight, far of the land bases. As consequence, I get nuclear reléase and can fire the Thor missiles and were obliterated Kaliningrad, Leipaija, and almost destroyed Riga (75%) and Splive (96%), with 38 Soviet fighters and bombers, some destroyed in flight, and two Air Defence placements. But with the V-Bombers losses mounting over Denmark to 10 V-Bombers (by Tu-16Ye action! The V-Bombers sere flying in formations from 2 to planes) after another minute of play, I will probably stop the scenario, change values on the Tu-16Ye, and start tomorrow the scenario another time ...

At last starting the scenario (btw, after some days tuning-up all the platforms displayed on the scenario. Incidentally in CMANO all the V-bombers types have the same speeds!!!). (but not cheating reading the victory conditions or force disposition previously, only analyzing the platforms). And with a lot of real life incidences and interruptions. It's one of the more evocative scenario ever. SPOILER ALERT First try, only two and half hours of game time. - Mínimum defeat, because the Soviets poured the limited Lighting defence and did nuke RAF Waddington and the Thor missile site!!! (three bases , RAF Waddington, Thor missile site and RAF Dunholme Lodge, 1xfixed and 2xmobile SAM emplacements destroyed by a single Tu-16A nuclear bomb. Also to point in my personal CWDW the decoys as in the Tu-16A are enhanced from 5% to 10%, and the Firestreak PK lowered from 20% to 18%) - Some 6xTu-16A and 6xTu-16 EW (many types) shoot-down. - One Lighting shoot-down by an unseen enemy (By an armed Tu-16? By a long range Yak-25?). - Some Soviet submarine launched missiles received, but without damage perceived because them. - My main error was to disperse the scarce Lighting fighters chasing Soviet Tu-16 EW/pathfinders previously to the Soviet bombers coming. And after was impossible to stop the true bombers because many of the fighters were unavailable. - The main lesson, probably also in the real world because the limited supply of nuclear bombs in 1962: A very credible employ of EW planes and bombers with GP bombs previously against the same targets to be attacked later (with a short interval, some 20 minutes) by a small number of nuclear bombers (some two to each target), to disperse the defending fighters, and to force the enemy to shoot SAM missiles and expend them.

F-22 combat debut ... in Syria?
That is my idea of long time ago, from the start some F-22A were earmarked for silver bullet stealth strike the first hours of an all-out open war, as the F-22A was IOC in 2006 and the F-117A retired in 2008, very probably just when those F-22A strike capabilities were developed.

LCS fires Norwegian NSM
Oh, yes, and it was only a point defence RAM! And also the idea about "we don't need long range anti-ship missiles because LCS can't detect anything at long range" !!!!!
