  1. A very easy, add a pair of aircraft entries for: - Rafale C F3 (AESA) - Rafale M F3 (AESA) Both in service from 2014. We can employ the same loadouts of - Entry 10382 Rafale C F3 (in service from 2008) - Entry 10384 Rafale M F3 (in service from 2009) Simply adding RBE2-AA (AESA radar, terrain following capable), but not employing any loadout with Meteor missile. Another pair very easy: The Meteor missile will be employed only from 2018, and in the variant now designed Rafale F3R, also to be employed only from 2018 (changing the previous designation Rafale F4. "R" stands for "Roadmap"). Only main changes are a pair of designation changes: - Change entry 10383 Rafale C F4 name to Rafale C F3R. - Change entry 10657 Rafale M F4 name to Rafale M F3R. Another one very simple: - Add the loadout 55336 Tanker to entry 10382 Rafale C F3. - New weapons to be integrated in Rafale F3R (forget about the loadout space problem, not yet to be in service) are: - Meteor (from 2018). - GBU-16 Paveway II 1000 lb LGB (at present no aircraft on French inventory capable to load them, after the Mirage F1 retired). - SBU-54 Hammer (employed with emergency IOC on the 2014 Mali crisis). - TALIOS targeting pod, previously named Damocles XF (flight tests from 2016, includes air-to-air night capable TCS mode. At current times the Rafale OSF integrated optronics are not capable to be employed in air-to-air mode TCS type, I suspect are neither capable those in Typhoon and previous types!!!). - GBU-12 Paveway II 500 lb LGB. - GBU-22 Paveway III 500 lb LGB. - GBU-24 Paveway III 2000 lb LGB. - SBU-38. - SBU-64. - NARANG (Nacelle de Ravitaillement in Vol de Nouvelle Generation/new generation in-flight refuelling pod), to be tested from 2016. At current times French Navy Rafales employ as standard use an old Douglas/Intertechnique D827 buddy-buddy refuelling pod. The D827 is employed from the standard F1, current configuration is a D827 pod centerline, 2x2000 liter DT + 2x1250 liter DT + 4xMICA missiles. 3. File Name: Duel in the English Channel, mid-February 2015. File Submitter: broncepulido File Submitted: 02 Mar 2015 File Category: GIUK Duel in the English Channel, mid-February 2015. Alternate history scenario. A Harpoon Commander's Edition scenario for the EC2003 Battle for GIUK Gap Battleset and the HCDB-140909 1980-2015 era Platform Database. Image: HMS Argyll in 2009, UK MoD photo, from Wikipedia Commons. Author: LA(Phot) Caz Davies. This scenario is designed to be played from the Blue/UK side or from the Red/Russia side. Is a very simple and introductory scenario, but you should play first a few times the Blue/UK side to avoid possible spoilers, and only later play the Red/Russia side. After the eventful year of 2014 and with the World beginning the so-called Second Cold War, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin (ex-KGB lieutenant colonel) was showing clearly his plan to recover the Russian Empire and later Soviet territories for reinstitute the greatness of his Russia, and to guarantee his passage on the History as savior of the Rodina. From May 2014 Putin provoked in succession the Crimea, Ukraine, Donetsk, Baltic States, Swedish submarine incursion, G-20 Brisbane meeting naval crisis, November 2014 Faslane submarine incident, and constant and multiple overflies with military warplanes causing potential incidents with commercial flights. After UK did retire all the Nimrod MR.2 ASW and maritime patrol aircrafts in 2010 (and his ill-fated projected replacement Nimrod MRA.4 in 2012), the island nation was hopeless without a credible defence even of his nearest sea lanes (we can add to these very erroneous decisions others recent ones, losing full weapon capabilities in others fields, as the air-launched Sea Eagle anti-ship missile in 2000, the Sea Harrier in 2006, the Harrier in 2009 and the anti-radar ALARM missile in December 2013). Also, from near 2010 only a warships was available for "escort" foreign or potentially enemy ships sailing the English Channel. One of the first naval incidents of 2015 was the 17 February "Channel Dash" by the Neustrashimyy-class frigate Yaroslav Mudryy, returning to her Baltiysk base near Kaliningrad. This scenario shows as the incident did could go wrong. Enrique Mas, March 2015. Click here to download this file

  4. Now only a 4xGBU-53/B load fits on the F-35B bomb bays, and not 8xGBU-53/B as pretended, at least not yet (perhaps in 2020 or 2022...): http://insidedefense.com/share/167668
  5. About Sea Wolf SAM mounts: - Entry 60234 Sea Wolf GWS26 VLS x16 has a ROF of only 1, the mount is in consequence almost useless. It should be probably 15 as in mount 59781 Sea Wolf GWS26 VLS x32. - Entry 60614 Seawolf GWS26 Mod1VLS has a ROF of 8, it should be probably 15 as in mount 59781 Sea Wolf GWS26 VLS x32. - Note also in entry 60614 the "Seawolf" spelling can cause confussion when working with the DB.
  6. Even a fifth the size of a real carrier, a sitting duck in wáter, undefended and without decoys, ECM or damage control, the Iranian CV mock-up is not sunk!
  7. About TA24 (ex Italian Arturo) and TA29 (ex Italian Erídano): Both were Ariete-class derived from the Spica (Alcione), 745 tons standard, with a speed of only 31 knots. Weapons, as in page 35 of Beute-Zerstörer und Torpedoboote der Kriegsmarine: TA24: 2x100mm/47 single mount (Italian), 10x20mm/65 Breda(3xtwin mounts, 4xsingle mounts), 2x450mm triple mount torpedo tubes. TA29 (and TA30 and TA36): 2x100mm/47 single mount (Italian), 10x20mm/65 Breda(3xtwin mounts, 4xsingle mounts), 1x450mm triple mount torpedo tubes. Both were equipped with radar, as stated on Beute-Zerstörer und Torpedoboote der Kriegsmarine, page 16, in concrete also these ships of the 10. T-Flotille: TA23, TA24, TA27, TA29, TA31 and TA32.
  8. Some of the few sources and bibliography: About the Ligurian Sea Battle: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Ligurian_Sea About the curious and interesting German ex Yugoslavian and ex Italian destroyer TA.32, aside Jane's and Conway's : http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubrovnik_(Schiff,_1931) Two very interesting books, mentioned also on Wikipedia: Zvonimir Freivogel: Kriegsmarine in der Adria 1941-45; Ex-jugoslawische Kriegsschiffe unter deutscher Flagge - ein Stück weitgehend unbekannter Marine- und Seekriegsgeschichte. (Marine-Arsenal Band 40), Podzun-Pallas, Wölfersheim-Berstadt 1998, ISBN 3-7909-0640-9. On page 11 profile of TA.32 on her last configuration. Zvonimir Freivogel: Beute-Zerstörer und Torpedoboote der Kriegsmarine. (Marine-Arsenal Band 46), Podzun-Pallas, Wölfersheim-Berstadt 2000, ISBN 3-7909-0701-4. Clear profile of TA.32 on page 17. Two generic books about Kriegsmarine: Erich Groner et alt.: Die Deutschen Kriegsschiffe 1815-1945, Volume/Band 2,page 106, Bernard & Graefe Verlag, Koblenz 1983. No detailed weapons stated, but an interesting profile with her initially proposed radar-ship configuration to direct fighters against incoming enemy aircrafts (Nachjagdleitschiff). Erich Groner: Die Schiffe der Deutschen Kriegsmarine und Luftwaffe 1936-45 und ihr verbleib, J.F. Lehmanns Verlag, Múnich 1954. A simple but useful and complete book, TA.32 is showed on page 16, but only with Yugoslavian weapon configuration. I think is very doubtful she was equipped with 105mm/65 SK C/33 gun on single mounts, I don't find any reference about that gun on single mounts, but I'm not 100% sure: http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNGER_41-65_skc33.htm She was probably equipped with the more usual 105/45 SK C/32: http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNGER_41-45_skc32.htm From images on books and other references in German service (commissioned from Juny 1944 to 1945) was equipped with 4x105mm, 10x37mm/83 SK C/30 (4xtwin mounts, 2xsingle mounts), 32x20mm/65 SK C/38 (7xquadruple mounts, 4xtwin mounts), 1xtriple torpedo tube mount(with German torpedoes, very probably G7a), mines, and as in the illustrations three pairs of depth charge throwers and 2 depth charge rails with 6 or so depth charges on each rail, perhaps with a grand total of 30 depth charges: http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WAMGER_ASW.htm As sensors on photos (poor photos of this vessel) is showed at least a FuMO21 (but it should be also a late-war FuMO24/25), very probably ESM as the rest of German destroyers in 1944 (FuMB 3 Bali?), and some sonar equipement, probably SB (Bug S) and GHG (2x32 elements) as other German destroyers: http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WRGER_08.htm

A Harpoon Commander's Edition scenario for the EC2003 Battle for the Mediterranean Battleset and the HCWW-101110 World Wars era Platform Database. To avoid spoilers is better to play first a few times the Allied/Blue side, and only after play the German/Red side. Image: Camouflaged Yugoslavian destroyers Dubrovnik (left, then Italian Premuda), and Beograd (then Italian Sebenico), probably at Bocche di Cattaro (Montenegro) after their capture by Italian forces on 17 April 1941. Origin: taked from Wikipedia Commons and from Propagandakompanien der Wehrmacht - Heer und Luftwaffe (Bild 101 I) and German Federal Archives. Battle of the Ligurian Sea was a small little known naval battle, last surface battle of Kriegsmarine executed by the last elements of Kriegsmarine's 10th Torpedo Boat Flotilla, composed by previously captured foreign warships of diverse origin, and fought near places with one of the world older naval history recorded, Returning to Genoa after a minelaying action near Cap Corse and Gorgona Island, the small German force was surprised and attacked by marauding Allied light units. Some months before, on 2 October 1944, the same German flotilla and ships encountered USS Gleaves (DD-423) in a similar minelaying mission towards San Remo (now Sanremo) but they did avoid contact and returned to Genoa undamaged, and this ill-fated encounter is depicted as the labelled LIGURIAN44 bonus scenario. Both mini-scenarios are introductory scenarios or historical representations more than full-scale scenarios (but probably addictive on his simplicity). Enrique Mas, February 2015. 10. I think must be some type of errour, or to obtain a very sharpened radar image (and useless because the 40 minutes of exposition to capture the target in image!!!).

Taked from Wikipedia Commons. A mining scenario based on the 12-13 December mining incursion near Newcastle by German light surface forces in the Phoney War. Both sides have limited resources and many task to do and many paths to victory. The present forces are all the historical correct as I can get them. Are depicted the historical surface and subsurface naval forces, the complete RAF Coastal Command order of battle at 12 December 1939, and the on the German side in the same date the near to North Sea units of Kustenfliegergruppen, Seeaufklarungsgruppen and the only and one Tragergruppe 186 with instructional land-based aircrafts to ready Luftwaffe air crews for future naval use in the Graf Zeppelin aircraft carrier, ship who never entered in service. Notes: Some very few British DD/DE not are of the exact time period represented, but almost all of them are historically correct and present as in the operations in December 1939. The number of aircraft in the air units of both sides are hypothetical and not strictly historical. A very few of the German aircraft types subvariants are not historical accurate. Some aircrafts of the RAF Coastal Command are represented by similar types because limitations in the Database: 30xAnson MkI=15xHudson MkI/II. 4xLondon I, London II, Stranraer or Skeeter represented by 1xSunderland III. 2xSunderland I represented by 1xSunderland III. 15. Great! Thanks Tony!
  16. Spoiler Alert: - - - - - - - - - - - - - At last Total Victory achieved by the Blue/ASEAN side with 3 days, 3 hours, 53 minutes remaining. The amphibious ships are yet at some at least 205 nm South of their first destination, the destroyed Chinese airfield ZTa, and the Chinese Tu-16 apparently did not in action against land or naval targets. - A total of 16 Chinese warships sunk and 5 damaged at this moment, most fast attack missile crafts, except some 5 DDG. - 79 aircraft (most Flanker variants,at least 4xJ-20, three Il-38SD and two Y-8MPA) are the Chinese air losses, including some 8xSoar Dragon high altitude drones. Also 11 naval helicopters. - A Chinese submarine sunk (actually a mine), and later a Kilo II approaching near Labuan. - The ASEAN loses at this moment are 51 aicraft, including many Australian F/A-18A, a few Flanker variants, 1xP-3T updated Thailandese Orion,2xTanker, and a lot of Hawk Series 200 and F-16 and two F-15SG. - The higher loss of lifes came from the previously mentioned Singapore ex-Sweden submarine sunk in a minefield, probably by an ATM with a SET-65. - Chinese ZZa airfield ZZa damaged at 67%, and ZTa airfield destroyed. - No more Chinese attacks against the ASEAN bases, only the previous light damage in three bases attacked by groups of some 24 Chinese cruise missiles, another bases were attacked but after a hard defense not damaged (HMAS Darwin exhausted all her SAMs defending Labuan of a single first attack, but the base was not damaged). Damaged bases are: Ho Chi Mihn City, Vietnam, 28%, U Ratchathani, Thailand, 9%, and Udon Thani, Thailand, 4%.
  17. Spoiler Alert. Mínimum victory condition achieved when 3 days 23 hours 28 minutes game time remaining. - Victory achieved just after some Australian F/A-18A did sunk a Chinese DDG (Type 52C?). A total of 12 Chinese warships sunk at this moment, most fast attack missile crafts, except another DDG. - 37 aircraft (most Flanker variants, two Il-38SD errant in the Vietnamese shores and a Y-8MPA) are the Chinese air losses, including some 6xSoar Dragon high altitude drones. Also 3 naval helicopters. - A Chinese submarine sunk (actually a mine). - The ASEAN loses at this moment are 18 aicraft, including some Australian F/A-18A, a few Flanker variants, 1xP-3T updated Thailandese Orion,1xTanker, and some Hawk Series 200, F-16 and F-15SG. - The higher loss of lifes came from a Singapore ex-Sweden submarine sunk in a minefield. - Only light damage in three bases attacked by groups of some 24 Chinese cruise missiles, another bases were attacked but after a hard defense not damaged (HMAS Darwin exhausted all her SAMs defending Labuan of a single first attack, but the base was not damaged). Damaged bases are: Ho Chi Mihn City, Vietnam, 28%, U Ratchathani, Thailand, 9%, and Udon Thani, Thailand, 4%. (I play with my personal DB, with slighty reduced PH values, most in old missiles, and increased ECM values. Because that very probably other player can higher shoot-down numbers and losses in both sides). A great scenario, indeed!
  18. Spoiler ALERT As it should work in the real world, problems detecting and shooting down Chinese very high and stealty drones ...
  19. Very interesting and realistic scenario, thanks!
  20. Great! Very interesting but not too different to Harpoon series, hehehe (In the colloquium after my very little academic lecture about military simulation games at Universidad de Granada, October 2014, I constated with horror (as suspected) Spanish Armed Forces, top brass, have not idea about operational simulators! They answered me things as "We have a high mountain rescue simulator capable for 6 people in Jaca (High Mountain School), or "we have a simulator of the 155mm artillery piece!).
