Database Design & Discussion

I've a problem with the new DB, when i import it, even with a fresh new install, in the PE editor REV.2003.16b5, it prompt an error "Execution error 3061, not parameters enough, 1 waited". When in chosse "end" ("FIn" in french version), it seems to freeze (waited 35 minutes). What is it and what can i do to resolve it? Thx

Brad, just downloaded Don´s latest scen, Diego Garcia, which will bring me a lot of fun and nerve-racking battles Included is the F-35 Lightning. I was surprised that both loadouts Intercept and Patrol only allocate four long range missiles to this aicraft. Thought it carried short range IR guided ones, too. Six to eight all in all. Is that bird really so poorly armed and thus not really well suited for dogfight? Regards, Ralf

I have a question about the dfferent databases. Are they all compatible with HCBB that comes with the game? I installed the latest HC65to95 and it removed most of the more modern platforms. Is there a way around this? Thanks -Tanthier

Question: If you install this Database does it screw anything else up (Other Databases) or you can switch back and forth. I know it stalls a new Common file, what does that affect? Thanks

Hi all, re the latest couple of HCWW data bases (090605 &090618). I like the idea of playing back in WW2 with out all them there modern stuff, but I can't get my blue pilots to fire their guns at other planes. I've even sicked them onto planes with no armament, but they just fly around them looking stupid. Any one else having this happen.? Don Thomas [CV32: Edited]

Hi, I am trying to track down which Gearings and Sumners were updated while on Turikish service with Harpoon and 35mm dual guns - the DB shows only 2 of them, but I have found photographic evidence 3 were so updated, so I am trying to find out how they looked in the 90s, and it seems all photos on the web were taken from the bow! Hi Is the distancte to the Horizon a fixed Value in HCE? Or how is it calculated? I found Values around 10 to 20km depending on the high for the observer and a Ship on the Horizon. How does this affect Weapons like SM-1 or SM-2 in surface mode? When i set the Surface range to 0 they get "horizon" as a range in the Platform display...

I'm back after a long hiatus (real life work takes up too much time but I gotta eat) - anyways - I managed to get HCE working in a VM sandbox. I'm trying to build some test scenarios to get back into the groove - looking for suggestions on how I can create/substitute some China Marine Surveillance Vessels. Greetings, I have been working on a few scenarios in the Caribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa region and have seen there is a lack of any airfields in the HUCE DB for these areas. While I was driving into work this morning and idea hit me - INTL Arfld Lg and INTL - Arfld Sm. Like any other unit in the new group, they can be placed anywhere. Basic numbers could be assigned for their air defense and any additional SAMs can be separately placed around the units. Large airfields could handle all large fixed wind aircraft, while the small version would only be capable of suppporting VSTOL and helicopters. Brad, I believe that you indicated that most of the new units are now derived from H4.1 paper rules. I hope that this is somewhat the case for the ground units as I would like to request the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Brigade found on page 37 of Dave Schuler's Harpoon Naval Review 2003. Do you have access to these stats? Can you work with Adjusted Unit Ground Combat Strengths (GCS)? With the addition of Westpac, a recreation of WWII in the Pacific would be on my wish list for HCE. What are the obstacles in creating a new database using Japanese, British and American platforms and loadouts? Is it even possible to do? Your comments, please. Regards, Terry
