I am doing some platform editing and i need info in the f-14 upgrade that was proposed by grumman In the same vein i would like to know how i can copy individual items from one db to another easily without having to print them each time. And when will the upgrades for the PE and SE will be coming out ?

In my main computer something has happened with the DB editor, and is destroying the DBs in modification. Each time I try to import a common.res file, the DB is in blank,even importing correct DB files from the other computer, or downloades from the Harpgamer site. It says the error is here in "Modules" and in the section "cFileIO" , but I don't know as to repair it: With rsArray .AddNew ![Annex] = LastAnnex ![iD] = LastID ![subAnnex] = SubAnnex ![Array] = Format$(ArraySize, "0") & ArrayVal .Update End With LastID = -1 Were I should to look to find the LastID = -1 and change it?

WARNING !!! Aircraft entries 10469 Yak-38 and 11592 Yak-38M are rated as with "Propulsion: Jet, CVL cpbl", if that is not changed to "Propulsion: VTOL & Helicopter", they can't be loaded building a scenario on the Kiev-class and derivatives CVH (ship entries 2147, 3325, 2148, 2263), rated correctly as with only a VTOL runway. And if I changed it on my DB and make a scenario, the scenario very probably will crash when playing in a not-modified on that sense DB.

I had one of this insane ideas the other day, the problem with simulating amphibious warfare is that the only way to do it now is to have the landing ships x time on station, but would it be possible to create standard weapon loadouts simulating the troops and something similar for the defences, like assault helicopters have now? So you will have platoon, company, battalion weapon loadouts with LAND attack capability and something similar (which already exists in terms of brigades and divsions) for defenders - probably the battalion would be superfluous and could be replaced by x Cos - there's something similar on subs and the LCS in the form of SF teams - but this w…

When I downloaded and installed HCCE 2005.b09c, I noticed that the installer didn't create a Start Menu shortcut to the Platform Editor. For any users who also noticed this problem, I created a shortcut pointing to the file pfBuild2002.mdb, and it seems to work fine. I hope this helps anyone who has noticed this problem. Tom

In HCDB 080406, I note that the RF-5S Tigereye from Singapore seems to have the loadouts for an attack aircraft, rather than a recon bird. As I was hoping to use it as a stand-in for South Korea's RF-5, which is not in the DB, in a Second Korean War scenario, I was wondering if it might be given a recon loadout, as well or instead? JS Taigei (SS-513) is the first boat of the Taigei-class attack submarine of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The submarine was ordered from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in 2017 and laid down on 16 March 2018 at Kobe, Japan. Taigei was launched on 14 October 2020 and commissioned on 9 March 2022. How many different platforms, weapons, installations, etc will the database handle? I went into the PE and made a new missile entry. The scenario editor/game would not accept the new entry, either gave a warning and closing or it wouldn't open. Same thing happened when I created the BCGN USS Colorado class. (Although I created a new OPV class surveillance vessel and a Chinese C-14 missile boat class that have been accepted.) I deleted the new entry and the the editor and game worked. I also went in an deleted a "do not use" JDAM bomb (ordinance) figuring that I had simply too many weapons. I replaced the deleted ordinance with a "RATTLR" hypersonic land attack…

I'm back after a long hiatus (real life work takes up too much time but I gotta eat) - anyways - I managed to get HCE working in a VM sandbox. I'm trying to build some test scenarios to get back into the groove - looking for suggestions on how I can create/substitute some China Marine Surveillance Vessels. In 2015 the Japanese defense budget allocated funds to study the construction of a new "compact-type hull destroyer with additional multi-functional capabilities" as well as a new radar system for the destroyer. In the same year Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) unveiled the frigate's first concept model (30FF) which they had been developing with their own funds. I didn't see harpoon missiles as a possible loadout for the JSF. I would expect that they will be able to carry them?

I recently read (from a link in harpgamer) the article "Mig Alley" re the korean war. It sounds like a great basis for some harpoon scenarios. I've looked at databases and don't see one that seems to fit the era, is that correct? If I use the new weapons/sensors database (good one) any tips on good places to get suitable info on platforms, particularly planes, from the era. Early jet fighters like the Mig 15s and sabres would be a start.
