  1. I hate to sound like a broken record, but what database name & version and game version? Now that there are multiple HUD-4 RCs to enjoy, multiple HUD3 versions, and all of the other databases... These behaviors are often very database specific.
  2. Looks like a quite good Perry replacement and candidate for a number of Coast Guard classes. LCS imho should still be smaller than this 2,000 tons but heh, if one could replace Perrys and maybe some Sprus with something like this there would be some dough for quantity to be chewed up in the littorals. Disclaimer: Still in lust with the Streetfighter concept...
  3. You can always take the scenario for a spin and spy on the opposing side by using the Show All cheat, Ctrl-Alt-s. http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?a...mp;showfile=417 Welcome back!

True only ANW allows multiplayer but I doubt more people play ANW than HC.
  5. Hi guys, the HUD3 sequel will be the HUD-4 and is being maintained by Gunny. Please make your requests, ONE PER TOPIC as per the example, over at the HUD-4 Requests/Issues forum. http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showforum=56 Thanks!
  6. Split into one topic per request. http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=15495 http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=15496 http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=15497

  10. First guess is that it is inexpensive as compared to Western systems so the Russian systems get sold to a class of buyers a fair bit different than Western systems (in general).

Welcome to HarpGamer and welcome back to the games! I think there have been many good topics here lately from Steven and mgellis as they have started playing more ANW. Feel free to ask questions as you have them.
  12. The future development of the HUD3 will be the HUD-4. I've set up forums with Gunny's input. To help track requests I'm hoping you'll make one request per thread at http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showforum=56 . As each is implemented the post icon can be changed and thereby the chance of missing something decreases greatly. If you are willing to transcribe your existing requests there it would provide a nice set of base data to test out the idea.
  13. I have had the issue and have no solution. What little research I did indicated that the blitting method called does not exist in WINE (just a stub) so the icons would have to be drawn a different way and I did not get into that at all. There are a few other Linux devotees around these parts, perhaps someone has had more success or more recent experience? Oh, and welcome back!
  14. Is there something everyone isn't telling is about tail-end stealth? Given the Russians, Chinese, and F-35 with some radar encouraging nozzles are we missing something?

Thank you HUD4 maintainers! The Tomcat 21 is shooting down scores of F-14D, thank you! I've updated the original post's icon to the to recognize the completion and verification of my original request!
  16. TonyE replied to TonyE's topic in Requests/Issues
TonyE, we've added the Tomcat 21 as ID 56874 in HUD4 1.6.5. Please update this thread when you have tried out the new platform.
  17. ANW 3.10.1 HUD3 1.6.3 I would like the Super Tomcat-21 added to the HUD4 along the lines of the "Tomcat 21" section at http://www.topedge.com/alley/text/other/tomcat21.htm Service years should be 1990 - 2025 Missile loadouts to include AIM-152 AAAM per http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/sys...itions/aaam.htm I would like to use this platform in a scenario pitting the actually built F-14 against a prolonged Cold War alternate universe F-14 Tomcat 21. Thank you!
  18. Hmm, actually I haven't. Is it a book of warfare or some spy thriller? If Bond, Carlson, Clancy, and a few others can get back to writing mil-Fi instead of spy-Fi I'll be an even happier reader. This decade+ of CIA and Spy novels has been killing me.

I hate to ask when I'd like to help out myself, but has anyone got some time to help Steven with the UNREP? My schedule is looking challenging to say the least.
  20. Or an impressive number unmanned air vehicles.

Thank you Steven, looks like an honest to goodness bug or corrupted save. Your next move is to send your zip and the attached .txt file to Russell Sharp, programmer dude for ANW so that he can load up the save using the debugger. rsharp@advancedgaming.biz If you don't hear from him in say 2 days let me know and I'll knock on his virtual door. debug_H3_b0.txt
  23. TonyE replied to Steven's topic in General
I can take a look later if you zip and upload the file in question and let us know what database version and game version you are using.
  24. Right you are, I picked up a copy 3-4 years back and will surely wear the pages ragged! I really like the Naval Technology section from page 10 to 83 as it explains so many of the mechanisms of warfare at a very Harpoon level, not super deep but yet still more than the surface glance most books offer. Sonar is described very well including the various states and depths of 'layers' across different bodies of water. I highly recommend a copy of the book to anyone who isn't super hard-core.
  25. Seriously? They may get a financial award for proving their design is sub-optimally designed? Only in defense procurement!
