  1. Neutrals are still far from perfect. The 2010+ series of game engines set out to remedy that (among other things) but that required lots of unstable builds as opposed to the stable but more limited 2009.### series. We weren't able to maintain any kind of testing momentum with those unstable builds so I abandoned them last year but naturally would like to revive them at some point if there is enough interest.

Right, the art files themselves come with Ultimate, do you have Ultimate Enrique?
  3. TonyE replied to cdcool's topic in General
Do you have a bunch of files in the DigMilArt subdirectory of your game? i.e. 444AgAlt9.jpg.enc, 737Storm6.jpg.enc, A3Down2.jpg.enc, ...

At the bottom of the HC GE you'll have the link, "Click for all installed Art". Click that to see the whole ball of wax. Otherwise if you select a unit in the unit window that has associated art the "Click for Art" link will become active. You cannot have the art without the window at the bottom of the screen, to disable the window, rename or delete DigMilArt.dll in the ExportDLLs subdirectory of HC. If you rename, use an extension other than .dll.
  5. An early start of a list of issues from the old issue tracker, http://harpgamer.com/issuetracker_old/issue_list.php
  6. The AI forgets to attack new player threats after a while in scenarios (as of 2009.076). Most scenarios don't last long enough to show the issue but it is there nonetheless. Long range patrols, attacks, etc. continue on as they should but the AI response to newly detected player threats falls flat after a while.
  7. mavfin, migrating the 'legacy' issues into the newer version hasn't exactly been a high priority for me (not fun and very time consuming). I think I can hack together a page or two that lists them though. It may be a while but I'll get a start on it.

Thanks mavfin, you nailed my initial logic (making sure upper-left of each window is visible, ignoring the other corners). Now that I know there is a tester I'll work to improve that logic.
  9. Really depends if the ATA rating of a plane is solely by loadout, or changes when all the weapons are gone. I'm guessing the ATA is solely by loadout, but, jettison code could take that into account, too, and change to a clean ATA rating. Correct on both accounts, ATA rating is based entirely on loadout whether the weapons have been used or not. Also true that jettisoning could change to the clean ATA rating.
  10. The unit name (better known as classname is 48 characters and is null terminated so you can have a maximum of 47 characters in the name followed by a null. You can use the attached little (incomplete) tool to see inclusion percentages. ScenViewer_v0202.zip
  11. Yep, the unit names are stored plain text. You can change them with you hex editor.
  12. Use the "Upload a new version" link at the download page. You can leave everything else the same, just plug in some tags. When you save the changes they will show up.

That might be a wishlist one yes. I've dreamt of auxiliary information on separate devices (i.e. show me all of my aircraft statuses on my tablet, the scenario orders on my phone, etc.). Interestingly enough there is a up and coming programmer who has been writing ExportDLLs that could do just this sort of thing.
  14. My wife and I had our first little one 9 days ago so I haven't been and won't be terribly active for a while. I see no issues with your approach and I very much like the detail and thought you have put in to the proposal. It is this kind of approach that jumps you to the front of the line . The aborting is very attractive but also somewhat difficult. I'd like to start with everything short of the aborting and then take a look again at the aborting.

HCE - 2009.076 - 2013/03/25 =========================== - Chg:I012 GE Look for SPIR sensors in the Radar annex across all sensors on the unit instead of just the first six sensors. Also, SPIR sensors can have zero range in the database and they still work. This helps deconflict them from actual radars. (thanks Miller7219) http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/tracker/issue-12-low-level-light-ir-ship-flags-working/ - Chg:I011 GE Widened OOB report class name information since we're not terribly memory constricted anymore in the GE. However, the SE will keep the narrower approach since it is memory constricted. (thanks Miller7219) http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/tracker/issue-11-order-of-battle-unit-field-too-short/ - Chg:0000 GE More work on three digit Unit IDs. - Chg:0000 GE Save and restore the main window position and size between game sessions. This needs lots of testing and issue reporting.
  16. Any complaints with Grumble's posts #8 and #10? If not we'll give it a try, ideally before Fall but no promises.
  17. That I agree with, it isn't a fundamental human right but I am also quite sure it is a right guaranteed by the US Constitution. I would go so far as to say it is a right key to maintaining the authority of the Constitution when government no longer represents the Consitution. I imagine there will come a time when the ideals of a Republic fail and the last chance for the Republic will hinge upon that second amendment right. I'm betting on that being a very long time from now (well after I'm dead and gone). Once we all get done disagreeing on firearms, knives, steel toed boots, and good old fashioned fists we could discuss whether there are any fundamental human rights and what they might be. Haven't come up with any while typing up this message.
  18. now we're talking, much better. Grumble's approach is mostly possible with the exception of the attacked aircraft knowing when the attacking weapons go active and such.
  19. Dreaming big, I like it when it doesn't depress me
  20. Thank you Mark, your efforts for H3 are great plenty but anything you want to contribute to HC is great!
  21. Okay people, I'm not seeing much discussion, let loose your thoughts! Think about an air force that only has Mig-21s going up against F-14s. Should the Mig-21s jettison on every sortie even when their dear dictator says attack or don't come back? When my B-2 comes within AAM range of a Su-27 but probably isn't detected by radar, should it jettison and run? The answer to that one is no by the way .
  22. Hehe, you have been Don and I'm looking forward to future creations as well.
  23. Still unlikely to change, good project for an enterprising programmer.
  24. Well that is unfortunate! I liked the look of the ship.
