As my available time decreases I'll be pushing for all of you to make better and better issue reports. Hehe, thank me when those abilities actually return . Yes, I sleep, more is needed but most people would probably say that. To save some time I'm going to be consolidating my websites. The Harpoon (harpgamer.com, harpoonpages.com, harpdb.com) and Stratsims sites will probably all fold into HG. I have to say we would very much welcome more people stepping up their participation like donaldseadog has. If I could spend all of my game development time mentoring and architecting it would be a very good situation.

Last night I finally figured out why the AnnexIDs in the database have to be contiguous. It is because they aren't actually stored in the database at all, they are generated when the GE or SE is loaded and are assigned contiguously. This was part of figuring out a way to have 4096 items per annex instead of 2048 which is itself part of deciding whether to continue with the experimental line of builds or to abandon them and go back to the stable builds.

My vote this year goes to Gunny. He has served the game for many years and has taken the bold step of maintaining the HUD4 database. Thanks Gunny!

Our new forum style/skin is in place. Comments welcome as usual. If time permits I'll swap in some different graphics here and there for a second option.

We need: HC_EURO_DB_080321.zip and HC_WW2_DB_090118.zip The rest of the reported files have been restored. I have been keeping a minimum of 2 months of backups. The trouble is that we didn't see the corruption until long after it happened. This weekend I will be implementing long-term storage of backups to help avoid similar events in the future (not the corruption per-se but the inability to recover certain files).

You are not blind, the donation button has disappeared in the forum upgrades. Once the new forum skin/style is ready in a couple of weeks I'll look at getting it back into place. The donations so far are actually covering 2/3 of the cost of the new skin! If anyone absolutely positively has to send us money before the end of year, PM me and I'll give you the PayPal URL.

I really will start to fix the ones reported broken, too busy this weekend though!

Had a day off today and made it farther with cross-platform than I have to date. The back-end code is the same across the four builds (Win32, Win64, OS X, iOS). The UI is laid out once for iOS and once for the other three platforms. Screenshots from each platform below and the Win32 executable in the zip in case you want to click the button lots like I did, kinda fun! As at least one of you has found, many of the older downloads have lost the links to the actual files. Your help would be greatly appreciated in finding those files so that I can manually re-link them. I am going to suggest you reserve a category here on this topic in a manner like, "I'm checking Downloads → Harpoon Classic/HC/HCE/HUCE → Scenarios → GIUK " then check them all, using the "Is this file broken?" link on each one that has no actual download and enter anything in the reason (probably something short so it doesn't slow you up, like the letter A. When done with your category come back here and say, "I'm done checking Downloads → Harpoon Classic/HC/HCE/HUCE → Scenarios → GIUK " That will in theory prevent multiple people from testing the same downloads. Thank you for the help, we're not sure yet if some of the files are really gone but a couple of the broken ones we checked (HCStrikerFictDB, Pinger Charlie) still had their files and just needed to be re-linked.

Tonight I updated the forum software and the Downloads module. Now we'll finally get to work on skinning the board.

If I had to hazard a guess, and that is all it is without more detailed information on the errors from you, I would say you have not updated to an HCDB version equal or greater to what the scenario download specifies, HCDB-120426. Grab it from http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/files/file/235-hcdb-120621-1980-2015-era/ and unzip it into your HC directory, overwriting the existing files. You will want to have that straightened out before playing for hours because you might have a fishing dhow in place of a CVN if using a database that doesn't have the units the scenario implements.

Grobbs, there is something similar and we use if for testing the game engine. The keyboard shortcuts are Show All (Ctrl-Alt-s) and Autoplay (Ctrl-Alt-z). This is not, however, equal to what H3 is doing as in HC the AI is not fully activated in this situation. I should also note that it works better on scenarios that have formation patrols set up for both sides otherwise the normal 'player' side won't have much for air activity. It is a great hope of mine to have the AI fully play against itself eventually.
