I'd say your database is messed up, throw in a new copy and see what happens. commondb.res is the key but it won't hurt to have commondb.rsr as well. Tomrorow I'll put up the release HCE installer, finally got permission on that front.

The effects will not combine (except as they do where there are two standoff jammers, one protecting the other). It uses the ECM with the largest modifier to reduce missile PH. Now the dreaded question, do you database designers need these things to work in multimounts?

No AAR yet, but I did read all the way thru the rules. Interesting point that Fred actually pointed out in chatting, SAMs are an infinite resource in the game, SSMs are not. That said, SAM equipped units are nowhere near invincible, engagement limitations are harsh (ships can be paired for mutual support, but if only one of those is a LR SAM shooter, the ship has to decide whether to protect itself or protect its buddy, they get another chance with SR SAMs, then point defense).

HCE - 2007.025 ============== - Chg:0000 GE Game could crash when splitting tanker from group if there is no group selected. Fixed so that landing for split is based off of tanker group, failing that, base it off group tanker was part of. - Chg:0000 GE Game could crash when using Full button display on report window. Fixed it up to use Unit instead of Group where needed. - Chg:0000 GE Added ECM ability to mounts. Now a ship may carry ALQ-99 for area and point defense jamming. Flares and Chaff will also now work for units other than planes. To Test: I expect the non-plane ECM will not work if placed in a multimount, please test. Suggest a command line of winharp32.exe -l ecm -f c:\ecmtest.txt What you are looking for in that file are entries that start "ECM Point". Testing still needs to be done on 2007.024.

I'm going to need more detail about this one. I drove group ACS until it grounded. It didn't ground until it was 1nm from shore.

Can you clarify if you have HC Gold or HC2002. I can get you 2003.15 for HC Gold but not for HC2002. In your game you should be able to go into the Help menu and About... 2003.10 would indicate HC Gold.

Mini AAR: Okay, with 2 days, 12 hours to go, total victory was awarded. Minimum victory at 2 days, 13 hours. My approach was not to run away at first, I proceeded towards the Red base. Despite heavy CAP I could not prevent Red detecting my carrier group though they didn't do it early so the bomber force was already well worn. ASMs were fired and both my Tico and other AAW ship were taken out, no damage to the carriers. I scurried to join the carrier group with the Japanese for some more SAM capability, it worked. Then I departed the plotted course, ran away for a bit, then took a NE approach. Many subs were killed, all Red, none got a shot off. Later Tu-95 picked me up again, missiles were barely stopped by F/A-18 and F-14. Then a third time they found me, after which the Red base succumbed to SLAM attack. I had some stupid losses, I like to fly in A-6 at VLow but a couple of times there were Yak-38 waiting for me, lost some good pilots that way this time around. hole2_5 plays well imho, I don't think it requires any more change. Potential improvements: Only the scenario opening saw a good Tu-95 + Escorts + Bombers approach to my carrier group, if the AI could be convinced to pull that off two or three times, life could be much more intersting. The other big vulnerability for me would have been a smaller attack soon after the first rush when my poor pilots are trying to re-arm and refuel. Great work Ralf!

I found a crash bug in 2007.024 (and every other version since June) dealing with air to air refueling. Make sure you have a group selected when you answer Yes to split the tanker from the refueled group or the game will crash. It is fixed in 2007.025 (not released yet).

The most recent version of the BS Creator does decent logging about adding scenarios, please post up your log. It should be in he same directory as the BSBuilder.exe and is called BSBuilder.log. Current version of the BSBuilder is 2007.024. As an unrelated request, do you get any error messages when loading saved settings in the BS Builder? Not getting it here, but Rene is and would like more detail on recreating the problem.

Game arrived yesterday after a pleasant e-Bay auction. This game is essentially a lite version of our beloved paper Harpoon game. The rules book is a whole 16 pages. You won't see a distance measurement in any unit other than hexes, no altitude bands, etc, just fighting! The included map covers roughly the GIUK gap. More details to come as I explore more.

Well, the files at AGSI combined with the current files thread here pretty much make up the most recent. Any day now we'll be able to use the final installer for the release version of the game to simplify things a little bit. Some day AGSI will let me make installers using the Matrix tools, then we'll really be closer to 7th heaven (except for the annoying prompt for serial number every time you install).

Hmm, well, that is an outdated PE. You should have 2005.b19 or 2007.000 for HCE. It also looks like you might not have the db_utils? Anyway, get up to the proper PE and then report back again please. It does work on Vista, that's what I use. Having usage guides for each version of Access wouldn't hurt, it is quite a bit more of a pain to get the PE running in Office 2007 than say Office 2000.

Word over at Matrix by Erik Rutkins suggests a HCE release within two weeks. I know it is getting closer but 2 weeks still sounds soon to me.

First off, I'm not a detail person when it comes to models, in fact I tend to buy them to convert to RC operational toys, this one had a strange below waterline but not full hull so I didn't convert it. Anyway, thought there might be minor interest in the bookshelf contents, it kind of scared me the limited subjects it covers (war/war/war sci-fi/electronics, textbooks/big books again mainly war Forgot my rocket, Sizzler! Seeing as I am great at crashing RC airplanes I thought I'd see how much quicker one can crash a helicopter. So far, with simulator time, and two runs thru the battery I've flown and not had any parts break, that will surely change but for now the helo is in tact. E Sky Honey Bee King 2 3D Copter (though I never plan to be a 3D flyer!) Belt driven tail is supposed to be more consistent than a separate tail motor, I should have spent less than half as much money and gone for a fixed pitch/dual motor copter. This one will be good IF I become a capable pilot before I ruin the thing.

My friend and I came to these small helicopters thru different means, he saw them on sale while browsing the Internet deals sites, I saw one a week before when my young nephew was given a small RC helo. Well, my friend mentioned the little zingers and I retorted that I saw some where you try to shoot each other down! That bore the idea, his birthday is in November, mine in January, we could get a pair of these fighting copters (otherwise known as Super Battle Planes) for each other for our 30th birthdays. The question quickly arose of it we had to wait until his birthday to open them, the vote was unanimous, we'd rip into them when they arrived (13 day transit from Hong Kong). I can say it was a purchase well worth it, the stupid things are a ball of fun, extremely vulnerable to air currents in the house but if you can play in a large room with furnace off and windows closed things will be a ball. Cats and dogs love them too and so far both copters are still operational (this is a few weeks after we got them). No doubt they are as cheaply built as can be, but irresponsible adults can manage. I had some extra minutes and had been sick so what better way to pass the time than by wrapping each helo. Yep, they are small, about 6" from stem to stern.
