When I try to import the new date base, I get a Run-time error 3201`: You cannot add or change a record because a related record is required in table tPlatform. Then if I try play the game, I get the following error message: ADDID to list error: expected a dick ID, got 53369 (Oxd079) This message had been logged. The program will now terminate. Additionally, if I try to run the platform editor, Get Disk Annex Error: (-8175 [Exe011])=2 This message has been logged. The program will now terminate. I've been playing 20+ years and have uploaded many a new DB many times. However, I know little about DBs so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I was hoping that Harpoon Ultimate would have changed JDAMS from missiles to bombs since its not really a missile. Is their a reason for this?

Here depicted use of JDAM against ships (perhaps only stationary????) currently this capability is not implemented into the DB: https://www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2022/09/royal-navy-and-us-navy-conduct-sinkex/

I didn't see harpoon missiles as a possible loadout for the JSF. I would expect that they will be able to carry them?

Japanese site (in simulated/automatic translator English!) with details of the Kawasaki P-1 (radar, sonobuoy processor, illustrated with 8xASM-1E, etc ... Is the only site where I've finded the approximative wing area), and some notes of humour with the P-1 speculative variants painted in RAF or Japanese 1942 styles: http://www.heinkel.jp/yspack/ysf_p1_eng.html The text says the HPS-106 is very similar to the modelled APY-10. Other Japanese projects: http://www.heinkel.jp/yspack/yspack_eng.html Including details about rare Japanese weapons, as modern deep charges: http://www.heinkel.jp/yspack/ysf_weapons_eng.html

The Kfir C.7 is perhaps the most powerful IAF a/c asset of the HDS3 and later MEDC scenarios. In HCE the Kfir is rated at 1516 kts top speed which enables it to choose the fights it wants to fight disengage from the rest and reach any critical spot around Israel quickly. It also easily outruns the Damascus Gammon SAMs (1434kts), which would otherwise be a major headache for blue for the MEDC scenarios. Is this top speed for real or is this a typo? The Wikipedia article actually lists the Kfir C.7 with Maximum speed: 2,440 km/h (2 Mach, 1,317 knots, 1,516 mph) above 11,000 m (36,000 ft) In the original MEDC the Kfir had 1317 kts top speed from HDS3 on it has 1516kts. …

I recently read (from a link in harpgamer) the article "Mig Alley" re the korean war. It sounds like a great basis for some harpoon scenarios. I've looked at databases and don't see one that seems to fit the era, is that correct? If I use the new weapons/sensors database (good one) any tips on good places to get suitable info on platforms, particularly planes, from the era. Early jet fighters like the Mig 15s and sabres would be a start.

In scrolling through the DB, and after reading the Yugoslav AAR, my interest has piked again over HCCE's employment of ground units. I believe that I have seen indiviual tanks through brigades and divisions. Since the maps are road and other specific terrain-less, do they simply move as "land-ships" that are prohibited from moving into the sea? How about how they "fight" other ground units. Do they have an extremely short effective range, or must they be "in contact" with the opposing force? How were the unit's damage points determined? I'm sure that I'll have more questions and will post them later. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Can some one confirm or otherwise my assumption that an aircraft radar with LDSD flag, but no other air search flag, has a blind spot through the tail? TIA Don

As I tried to wrap my head around the idea of expanding the database limits, I keep coming back to the idea that we'll need a new database editor. MS Access is getting long in the tooth so a wholesale re-write might be nice. Well, the database storage mechanism will be a whole lot different so how do existing battlesets and scenarios get treated? Maybe their databases could be migrated to the new format. That train of thought led me to digging in old source code (from HC2002 actually) to see what Tools Bret had to dig information out of the legacy battlesets. It turns out he had a tool that exports any legacy battleset to the .csv files we are familiar with when usin…

I was experimenting in the Scenario Editor. Trying to set up airbases and assets to resemble the current situation with Libya and the no-fly zone. Could not find any Canadian F-18 to load. Is this missing from the current standard HCDB? And as an alternative, which version of an F-18 would most resemble the CF-18 ?

Here is a little xls sheet (office 97/2003) created to help loadout designers by converting real life datas into multipliers directly applicable to loadouts. All instructions incorporated. the file is free of know viruses. http://ibelgique.ifrance.com/jansfiles/har...liers_table.zip (3,758 Ko)

Hi wich loadout numbers have dedicated functions? Tony posted that 15,16,27,30,31,32,33 are intercept loadouts regardless how they are named. what about the rest? i´ve added the list taken from the HCDB... This is in reply to Rene's thread: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=3259 HC has fourteen native loadout types. Each of those types may have unique uses and behaviors. Loadout type may influence what altitude the planes fly at by default. It may also dictate whether the AI turns on the active sensors upon launch. The loadout type also defines more core characteristics, whether it is an intercept loadout for air to air battles for instance. There is at this time no comprehensive list of the impact of each mission type but the name should give a good indication of the purpose. The loadout/mission types are: FERRY - For transit between landi…

AFAIK, at this time, loadouts designed for HC are issued from H4 forms or designed by DB... designer. AFAIK again, there aren't fixed rules about designing, at least, about range and DATA determination. If AFAIDK, there are rulles, the following wouldn't be usefull at all, but, please, let me thrust that the time i took to design it isn't wasted for nothing. What i suggest it to determine fixed multipliers that will influence DATA and range based on real life values and H4 rules. So i took the "Performance effects for Turbofans and Turbojets at cruise" issued in the rules book and adapted it. Here is what it gives: % of Max Payload Carried | Range/DATA…

I have been playing with some extended range naval guns and found in the HCDB2 DB three versions of Vulcano extended range 5" munition. see https://electronics.leonardo.com/documents/16277707/0/Vulcano+127.pdf?t=1671440934942 In HC terms two are Guns, one is a missile (speed about 2200 kts). When I used the missile I thought 'wow, so slow', but then when I started to think about it the speed was quite correct and more realistic than the instant gun hit (or miss), so I started to wonder for long range artillery should we use 'missile' and not 'gun' weapons? I'm interested in the new Kingfisher concept for ASW including the delivery of small depth charge and …

I'm looking for technical info (for HCE database) on the Argentine supply ship/freighter ARA Isla de los Estados, which was sunk by HMS Alacrity during the 1982 Falklands war. Anyone know of a source, please let me know. Thanks.

But it is possible to rename the field in the PE with out hurting the game... So let us find a smarter name for it!

I've been looking at the HCDB and specificly at the magazine/turret relationship of the Iowa BBs. On the turrets I notice that they each hold enough rounds that when combined with the magazines which hold 255 rounds, you have the total needed for each turret. Here's where I have a problem with that. If I remember correctly the magazines supply ALL the mounts of the same type. In other words, even if the front two turrets are blown up, the ship will continue to use the ammo supplied by all three magazines. That being said, I find it hard to believe you're going to be running 2700lb shells from one end of the boat to the other. Wouldn't it make more sense to place…
