Kfir C.7 the ultimate IAF interceptor?

Featured Replies

The Kfir C.7 is perhaps the most powerful IAF a/c asset of the HDS3 and later MEDC scenarios.

In HCE the Kfir is rated at 1516 kts top speed which enables it to choose the fights it wants to fight
disengage from the rest and reach any critical spot around Israel quickly.
It also easily outruns the Damascus Gammon SAMs (1434kts), which would otherwise be a major
headache for blue for the MEDC scenarios.

Is this top speed for real or is this a typo?

The Wikipedia article actually lists the Kfir C.7 with

Maximum speed: 2,440 km/h (2 Mach, 1,317 knots, 1,516 mph) above 11,000 m (36,000 ft)

In the original MEDC the Kfir had 1317 kts top speed
from HDS3 on it has 1516kts.

Typo?

Very probably a typo, not at home and without computer neither my tables today, I will see it tomorrow, very late in the day ...

From my working tables about aircraft performances, not cited sources, but all the data obtained in serious aviation books or magazines:

Kfir C.1: máximum speed Low 702, High 1317, climb rate 238.

Kfir C.2: Low 750/756, High 1233/1258, climb rate 176.

Kfir C.7/C.10/C.12: Low 750, High 1319, climb rate 233.
