Kawasaki P-1

Featured Replies

Japanese site (in simulated/automatic translator English!) with details of the Kawasaki P-1 (radar, sonobuoy processor, illustrated with 8xASM-1E, etc ... Is the only site where I've finded the approximative wing area), and some notes of humour with the P-1 speculative variants painted in RAF or Japanese 1942 styles:

Avionics

Combat Direction System:HYQ-3

Sound System:HQA-7(NEC)/HAS-107/HRQ-1(JRC)/HQH-106

Radar System:HPS-106(Toshiba)

MAD:HSQ-102(MitsubishiElectric)

FLIR:HAQ-2(Fujitsu)

Datalink system:HSA-108(KHI)

ESM:HLR-109B(MitsubishiElectric)

APU:131-9J(Honeywell)

The text says the HPS-106 is very similar to the modelled APY-10.

Other Japanese projects:

Including details about rare Japanese weapons, as modern deep charges:

The text says the HPS-106 is very similar to the modelled APY-10.

The reference to how the HPS-106 and the AN/APY-10 works is in regards to the modes of search (Track While Scan, Synthetic Aperature, Moving Target Mode, etc.) The HPS-106 is not in the same category as the AN/APS-137(V)10 AKA the AN/APY-10 radar.

Other than that little bit I find this Microsoft Flight Simulator site to be chock full of good information on Japanese aircraft. I have bookmarked it and thanks for sharing it!
