To anyone who tried my Falklands test scenario -- thank you and I do appreciate input. Thank you to CV32 who has updated the HCDA database to allow planes on the Atlantic Conveyor & its sister ship. I have just figured out how to simulate the Black Buck raids -- the bombing of Port Stanley from Ascension Island -- by using enough tankers and the split/join function to create groups where the tankers get refueled. With this we ought to be able to create a nice battleset of the '82 conflict. More to come.

After Action Report : Big Lizzie and Big George A scenario by Broncepulido for the EC2003 GIUK battleset and the HCDB2-170714 database. Spoilers apply! * * * * * * I played this scenario from the Blue side, commanding the combined QE and Bush carrier groups in the North Sea, together with a handful of shore based aircraft assets. At game start, friendly reconnaissance assets quickly discovered a combined Russian/Chinese surface action group in the North Sea centred around the battlecruiser Peter the Great and a Chinese Type 052D destroyer. Although the sides are immediately hostile from start, I chose to permit Red to make the best overtly hos…

Are other folks seeing weirdness in EC2003 IOPG scenario 5 (HDSK5.0) "Those Traveled Roads"? Specifically, installation place names coming up as not matching their proper names, or otherwise shown as "donotuse" ?

I wonder if someone might do me a favour and set up a test scenario that pits S-300V (SA-12) against the Kh-22 (AS-4). Run it a few times and let me know how often the S-300V is successful in shooting down the Kh-22.

Hi Anyone made a scenario around the Inter German border in the eighties? I'd been thinking about it and understands that is would have to be a quite thin piece of the front to make it manageable. http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=1835 Cheers /John T.

I apologize if this is not the proper place to post it but...... Has anyone done a scenario where the Soviets have overrun Europe much likes the Germans did and the RAF/NATO is faced with having to defend their bases and industry against Soviet bombers? And based in the EC2003 GIUK battleset/database. I was thinking something along the lines of all the Soviet heavy bombers coming out of Norway and then Frogfoots and such out of France supported by Flankers, etc. and then on the English side NATO Tornados, Eurofighters, F-15's, F-16's, E-3's, etc. And maybe some cross channel Special Forces stuff (Pave Low's, MC-130's, SEALS from subs, etc.) Victory condit…

In my naval reading list I have now arrived at the fiction section with Michael DiMercurios books. I've just started Voyage of the Devilfish where a rogue admiral sends 120 SSNs to a position they can attack with cruise missiles. (I have not finished the book, so the idea is just based on the start). This inspired me to try to recreate this scenario with EC2003 Battle for the Atlantic Ocean. The idea was to start out a big blob of SSNs from the Norwegian Sea (Barents seems to be off the map) Have them all transit trough the GIUK gap, north and south of Iceland at high speed to several attack positions off the US east coast and then order them to attack vital targets…

AAR: F-14 Fleet Defender V1.1 Battleset: HCE EC2003 NACV Source: F-14 Fleet Defender V1.1 - Harpgamer Author: Ralf Koelbach Contact: rkoelbach@yahoo.com Date of release: 08-Jan-2008 Date of play: Early-Mid July 2008 Synopsis: Ladies and Gentlemen, After success in V1.0, I set my sights on V1.1, which held the promise of an even greater challenge. I tried several times due to the fact it crashed repeatedly – normally towards the end. At game start time I found my main asset for this scenario - a 2*CV CVBG - about 450NM directly south of Iceland. Again, I had a strong suspicion that there would be Backfires – or at least Badgers – based there, and I sen…

Looking to create some low unit density scenarios for experimenting with possibilities. Wondering if the AI does anything. Examples: CIS base has MiGs with an AA loadout. I fly in and shoot down the 2 plane CAP and no other ac are launched - the interceptors just sit passively on base. CIS base has bombers with a surface loadout, victory conditions are based on the CIS damaging a Blue base and a CIS recon flight flys into radar range of a base. Nothing happens. Back to wondering if the AI does anything. Information and advise would be very welcome.

China's declared exclusion zone and subsequent attacks on ships has caused shipping insurance companies to stop offering insurance to any ship that comes within 500 miles of the conflict area. The consequence of this is that Japan is down to two weeks worth crude oil and natural gas. The only solution the Japanese have been able to come up with is for the government to buy several ULCC's, and LNG carriers and have the JMSDF operate them. …

One month ago, Russia invaded the Ukraine. This had been well prepared and the Ukrainian forces were outgunned and overrun in a month. Russia has taken control over the whole country amazingly fast and installed a Moscow friendly regime. Nato acted helpless and chattered in different tongues. The US look weak and are heavily involved in the Middle East where the IS forces gain territory by the day. Russia has decided to mak…
