Background: This forum encapsulates perhaps the most thorough documentation of sub-optimal performance of HC. Most of the reports demonstrate excellent form and presentation to make addressing defects as easy as possible, use them as a template. The term Defect is used since not everything is a bug; some items are bugs, some are design limitations, some voice a dissenting viewpoint, defect is the term chosen to cover all of the ground.

Replace "Username" with your forum username and 2017.011 with the version of the game in which you see the issue.
Hints: A test scenario is better than a saved game. A tiny test scenario targeted at the problem helps track down the issue. The fewer the units in the scenario, the easier to debug as well.

use GE 2022.014, database HCDB2-170909, westpac BS In the zip is the scenario used to produce the saved game, (Important) start the scenario with auto formation patrols enabled, this produced the first MCM Sea Dragon patrol unit AA-001 which is patrolling correctly at low alt to the north east. At game start a second Sea Dragon is set via formation editor F3 to patrol to the south west and is unit AA-002, it is patrolling at medium alt and not dropping any markers. (alts can be seen in the toolbox window) In the formation editor box 001 unit is shown as an ASW Patrol, 002 unit as an AEW Patrol. I would expect both instances to patrol at low altitude and in …

I've not been able to reproduce from saved games but runtime error for type-aa is occasionally occuring. see screen shot I'll continue to try for a reproducable saved game, it seems more likely to occur in larger rather than smaller scenarios.

During aircraft operations TonyD and I are receiving this message. If you ignore the message the GE doesn't crash. TonyD found that it occurs with multiple db's. At this point neither TonyD or I have found it affects game play.

recently while works was done with future data base It was notice on the base selection popup almost all bases only highlighted Blue for Named bases and Red for almost all ZZdonotuse base. It did not matter which color was selected for base creation. The create a base popup determined the color of the base created regardless of the country base popup's color. In short if you selected create red base in pop up screen and chose the only available blue base listed that you wanted it would still be a red base upon selection. This happened with ZZdonotuse red labeled bases if create blue base was selected. The base would be a blue base. It seems only to happen to DB 17909. Att…

While playing my scenario receive message that all Victory Conditions met at same time. Looking at the Victory Conditions in the SE it appears none of them have been met. I have included 2 saved games to make sure I got the right one. Unit ID Test 1-79.0009.hpq Unit ID Test 1-79.0010.hpq

After capturing bases some of the text on base is jumbled up and unreadable. It looks like the text is on top of each other in the Unit Window. In my game I have turned over4 bases. The text on 2 of them is OK. The other 2 are jumbled up. I am not sure if the GE is causing the issue or Turncoat. I will try a smaller scenario and see if the same thing happens. Hey TonyE Was playing the Block 2 Mediterranean Scenario and came upon a BOA crash event. Version 2022.006 Scenario Block 2 Battleset Med 2003 DB 15928 Upon launching a group or Growlers with decoy I launched them at a base with the expected results. I also did the same with a group of F18E with slammers with the expected results I then tried to use BOA attacks of which both ordinance I believe are capable of. In both case the believe attached png was the result and upon clicking any button shut down the game. I have attached a test scenario for testing. The attached (zipped) example uses westpac battleset, HCDB 150929 database and GE 2022.0.0.4 open test scenario BadPatrolSector.scq, select blue base, open formation editor (F4) set an air patrol but when clicking the mouse to set the sector have it over the edge of the extreme perimeter of the formation pattern. You can get a selection that is a complete pie section including the inner circle (which is wrong). See the BadPatrolSector.jpg graphic for the effect you're after. Hello, I am running HUCE 2015.72. I am editing the database and I have change the Loadout DATA of a few aircrafts. It seems that game engine always uses the aircraft DATA instead of the loadout DATA. So DATA is the same with a heavy loadout and with a light loadout. Is there anyway to use the loadout DATA instead of the aircraft DATA?

Hello, when I create a new group or airfield, I can only assign 1 group of aircraft or 1 ship. I have to close out and edit the group/base to assign more units. Also I can't ready a group of planes for a specific assignment. For example, I cannot change F-18 hornets from intercept to Prec. I've looked on the forums and I can't seem to find anyone who ran into this problem or find a solution. Please let me know if I am missing something. Thanks!

(ZUa)When attempting to change destroyed air base (ZUa) to blue using Turncoat, receive "Side change failed, no group id available" message. Created a test scenario and was unable to duplicate the issue. Earlier in the game I converted a red base to blue base (DSa) using Turncoat. There was an update to Turncoat after base was converted to DSa due to a previous GE crash caused by Turncoat. It appears that the side in the Turncoat base resets it self back to the Red instead of the Blue side. I have restarted the GE several times and the issue persists. Hey Tony While helping Eric on a issue I became aware of an issue. We find out that a 0kts problem Eric was having occur in version 2021.014 but was not occurring with his test scenario with my computer which was only at 2021.012. He down his version and it fixed the problem for him. I decided to update to 2021.014 but got the attach popups. I tried to do this with the latest 2022 version with same effect. I then tried to go back to 2018 version to start reloading up to the latest version but the same popups occurred. It seems to indicate my winharp.exe is now out dated. I changed nothing an use the process of updates to the latest version of 2021.…

After launching and setting AC to patrol at high altitude, when aircraft reaches patrol location speed goes to 0kts. Attached is a saved game just before the AC reaches it patrol location as well as the scenario created for the test. GE log has been included. During game play shortly after missiles hitting AD units close to blue base Yelizovo, Russia GE crashed. Blue side destroyed Red base Yelizovo, Russia. Used Turncoat dll to turn base blue. Just after 25 seconds of play the GE crashed. This crash has occurred multiple times at the same time. I have included the last 3 seconds of play game time, GE Log and the latest edition of my db. GE 2021.009 I tried HCDB and HCDB2, three separate scenarios within westpac battleset, two custom and one battleset scenario (#1), all consistent crash. Air units either in a patrol around a base or as '0' unit in an air group, select in unit window and select "speed" button and game crash every time. (rather disappointing as I got very excited when I saw it )

Icons do not move unless you click on one in the unit or group map. Result is you dont see accurate position of planes and missiles causing you to react slowly and often with disatrous results.

When Saving a Scenario that I was editing, the message below came up several times. Scenario seems to save Ok. When reopening it appears that all changes were saved. Selecting Retry seems to save the Scenario. The zip file consists of the latest edition of my db, the SE Log file and a copy of the scenario. If you need any additional info please let me know. Saved scenario with 2021.006 and save did not produce any messages and SE did not crash. Spartly Island 4 Part 1 Update 12.zip

In the GE when you change zoom levels with the formation editor open, the units often don't draw in the correct locations, something is amiss with the scaling. They can also be drawn in the wrong location when first entering the Formation Editor
