Background: This forum encapsulates perhaps the most thorough documentation of sub-optimal performance of HC. Most of the reports demonstrate excellent form and presentation to make addressing defects as easy as possible, use them as a template. The term Defect is used since not everything is a bug; some items are bugs, some are design limitations, some voice a dissenting viewpoint, defect is the term chosen to cover all of the ground.

Hints: A test scenario is better than a saved game. A tiny test scenario targeted at the problem helps track down the issue. The fewer the units in the scenario, the easier to debug as well.

  1. It appears that the air patrol crashing is back. I have had 2 ASW patrols crash, and I am unable to delete air patrols in my TG's Attached is a save game with the air patrols that were not able to be deleted in TG AEC Air Patrols Crashing.zip

  2. A user from the Great White North, recently returned to the game is experiencing memory corruption in the original USNI BattleSet, Scenario 5.0. He has experienced this both in 2020.009 and 2020.017. Some saved games are attached. I have tested extensively using AutoTest and have not replicated either issue (game exiting with heap corruption error [USNI5.zip] nor game exiting without any warning [NoErrorCrash.zip]). Right after the USNI5.zip saves a Slava is sunk but does not trigger a crash for me. The user has mentioned doing a lot of air group splitting and joining while playing. I view that as a valuable hint as very few players exercise that function…

  4. Observed building the latest scenarios. At start I did think the Red side don't launch antiship missiles from its submarines. This afternoon developed this little test scenario (Mediterranean 2003 theatre) to very this, but the results are at least "strange". 1).- Playing Blue, near the Lebanese coast.   5. I found in my current game that somewhere during the game my air patrols for Guam lost their identity and went out of their patrol zones. They lost the number of aircraft that were in the patrol in the Formation Editor. I found the file where the patrols lost place in the formation and started playing from there. I played for awhile saving the game every second. I checked the Formation for Guam and all planes were where they were supposed to be. I turned the Formation Grid off in the Staff options and the patrols lost the number of planes and their patrol area.   6. Opened up the NACV Mission #15 - Retreat. The unit CHVG Baku has got an SA-N-9 Launcher, but the actual weapons that get fired from these mounts are SS-N-9 Siren missiles. So instead of having 96 anti-air missiles it has 96 Siren ship to ship missiles.

  7. During landing of Air Group, AC get locked up and all planes will not land. Group FiA landing at captured base Fuzhou, China (CHa) only will land 4 planes. ! plane will never land in game. The same thing has happened on Carrier Group AEC. Air Groups F1A, IvA, G0A, HXA, AaA, and EtA. This situation occurs if you exceed the # of runways the base or carrier is rated for.   8. I was playing Pac.6 with data base 170909. After getting a couple of hours in to game time I experience game crash to desktop during a save, both manually and autosave, with the save game becoming corrupt and unable to reload. The popup at times would give me GetMemAnnexA Error: !IS_DISK)65535 [oxffff]) = 65536. I began to repeat the process with a game save about a minute before the crashes would occurred repeatedly and attempted save game would not reload as I believed it was corrupted.   9. I get a couple of different errors when trying to load user scenarios in HCE. GetMemAnnexA Error: !!S_Disk. The message has been logged. The Program will now terminate. or The requested scenario file requires a newer version of the game. This scenario is version 5. This games supports through version 3. Exiting. (game says no updates are available) Any help getting these scenarios to load would be appreciated.

  11. Hey TonyE Was playing the Block 2 Mediterranean Scenario and came upon a BOA crash event. Version 2022.006 Scenario Block 2 Battleset Med 2003 DB 15928 Upon launching a group or Growlers with decoy I launched them at a base with the expected results. I also did the same with a group of F18E with slammers with the expected results I then tried to use BOA attacks of which both ordinance I believe are capable of. In both case the believe attached png was the result and upon clicking any button shut down the game. I have attached a test scenario for testing.   13. After the air to air guidance issue was fixed I decided to test other guided munitions such as torps and stand off missile. Test scenario and two saves attached. AGM such as the Taurus, Scalp egg and Storm shadow displayed repeatedly to lose direction when launch at multiple targets from one attacking group. It would guide to one of the designated targets then turn either to 0 degree heading or 180 degree heading prior to impact on any of the targets. I then repeated the test attacking each target separately and achieved correct results with hits on all targets attacked separately.   14. Hello, when I create a new group or airfield, I can only assign 1 group of aircraft or 1 ship. I have to close out and edit the group/base to assign more units. Also I can't ready a group of planes for a specific assignment. For example, I cannot change F-18 hornets from intercept to Prec. I've looked on the forums and I can't seem to find anyone who ran into this problem or find a solution. Please let me know if I am missing something. Thanks!

  15. Greetings All, I am noticing possible errors in how the game engine designates an icon for unknown contacts and/or allows attacking unknown contacts. Apologies if these are known issues. I still have a bunch of reading to do in the forum. Also, once I figure out what test scenario files to upload, will do. Examples: Small RED surface contact - BLUE platform: Bunker Hill class (Monterey (CM)) radiating air and surface radars.   16. While running scenario, the GE crashed without warning multiple times. Attached are saved game files, GE and Message Log. Tried running without AI ToolBox. If more saved Game files are needed they are available. Same thing happened yesterday, but while trying to recreate the issue it stopped occurring.   17. When attacking a ship with guns the number of rounds the GE selects to destroy a target is much larger than what is really required to sink target. Attached is a test scenario based on my fictional db. Hi, I've been playing most of the default Battleset scenarios, specifically WestPac, and have come across an issue where Blue Tanker units are run aground at scenario start of WestPac2 (Pirate War). No issue in official 2015.027. Maybe a beta issue or just me?   19. In the GE when you change zoom levels with the formation editor open, the units often don't draw in the correct locations, something is amiss with the scaling. They can also be drawn in the wrong location when first entering the Formation Editor
