Hi All, I'm wondering how I should go about prosecuting contacts detected via ESM. I've seen this happen quite a bit from, say, patrolling ASW aircraft, but can never seem to get a more solid fix. Usually when I send a ship out to close with them, it gets into attack range and my missiles don't find anything. Is this a matter of turning on radar and maneuvering? If I have a bearing to a contact, I assume that's the bearing from the platform which detected them, and not necessarily that of the group as a whole. Often I end up surprised by sudden damage, without a prior contact. I wonder if I'm just getting unlucky. I've noticed this most in "Gauntlet," but it seems t…

hi! i have been looking for an interesting Harpoon scenario set in the black sea region between Russia and Nato and the Porter scenario in the Harpoon Classic section caught my eye. I am though not sure what i need to do to play it. I have the Matrix edition Harpoon Ultimate edition that has HUCE, ANW, 3.6.3 AND 394 and i think i have it all updated to the most recent versions as per the patches on the matrix site. i am assuming i need to use HUCE for the Porter scenario but where do i put the files for it thank you regards

I bought the game and it came with multiple versions of Harpoon. The Commander Edition I load up there is no scenarios that I can find on my computer that came with it. What am I missing here? Thank you.

Hello, I mean ... it is the same since several years. While the game engine, thanks to a great group of Harpoon lovers, was REALLY IMPROVED over the years, the scenario editor remained the same. I like to see some new useful things added to it ... for example: 1) the possibility to save a group of ships and to load it in a new scenario ... think to a carrier group ... now you need to add all the ships, the Air Wings, the helos, to define the formation of the group, etc ... every time you build a scenario you have to start all the process again! 2) when a base is added, because many of them are know as home of an Air group, the base should have all the aircraft…

I just discovered a whole new way to lose aircraft in the game. I've been playtesting a scenario I wrote, set in the North Atlantic. I had just finished wiping out a SAG with carrier air when I got a Keyhole hit on an SSK near the Azores, and sent a pack of SV-22s to kill it. The SSK turned out to be a wolfpack, and halfway through the hunt my Ospreys started blowing up! So I sent an EA-18 out to look for the troublemaker, and much to my surprise, it found a wayward DDG from the SAG, run aground on one of the islands. Hello Everyone, I'm an old GDW Harpoon miniatures gamer who made the jump to HCE. I have cleanly upgraded to the .044 version and it's working with all default scenarios. My problem is that I've downloaded a couple of Westpac scenarios here (like Sprat in the Spratleys) but I can't get them to load properly. What I did is I created a subdirectory inside the \Matrix Games\HCE\ folder and unzipped all the files there. I immediately noticed that Load User Scenario is looking for files that match a .sc? filter. Overriding the filter and forcing the file load results in a GE crash. Hello, played some Harpoon Classic (1.58E) and noticed that the rings look like ellipses with the y axis being longer than the x axis. Is this intended or a bug? H3 suffers from the same effect and I wonder why. I'm playing with 4:3 screen. Can I fix this somehow? Greetings, Cabal

Hi all - been quite a while since playing Harpoon - was surprised at the amount of activity here (though in some forums some posts seem very dated - thought the game died awhile back (or almost did?)) Happy to find it's still alive in some capacity.
