Hi All, I'm a newbie here but just wanted to say that I have the ORIGINAL harpoon for commodore 64 computer on 2.5"diskettes....box , all disks , battlestes etc etc. I have them stored away somewhere. Just noticed a post somewhere about "collecting old versions of Harpoon" cheers Roy C

I'm wondering what battlesets have the newer HCE features that are based 1980-1990 or so. I believe I saw the included HCDA/S/? or whichever those 3 or 4 are have active jamming working but didn't know if they have the full set of new goodies. Am I correct? Also.. which other battlesets do/don't have the new features? I've noticed the DB80to95 but haven't seen much in the way of created scenarios for it. Could someone point me in the right direction? I've not dove into scenario creation yet (I will sometime), but playing your own scenarios takes a bit of the surprise out of it, doesn't it?

Just about one year later and I'm reinstalling HCE. Please point me to the files and DB I should be using. I'm running build 2009.50, I think there is a later build. Sorry for the bother, I just don't know which files to use. running win7 Thanks very much John

There is a distinct change in the behavior or characteristics of AI air groups and AA missiles between HCGold (and early versions of the HCE demo) and the more recent versions of the HCE Demo, and I'm trying to get my head around the reasons or rationale for all of this. The first (and most flustering) difference is that my air patrol groups often can just blow up without warning for no apparent reason, even when at extreme distances from any enemy detection platforms. I don;t know if this is new, or I just never came across it before. When I attempt to launch an aircraft from a base to attack a sub target, I get a message saying "Sir, we currently have no released weapons to conduct an ASW attack". If I launch the aircraft to patrol and then order it to attack the target as soon as it launches, the attack proceeds as usual. I have a screenshot, but I can't figure out how to attach it. Playing the EC2000 Battle for the Norwegian Sea scenario Nordic Light and so far I have shot down 12 Tornado - somehow. Only info I have is that they have been shot down in the Message Log - no other info. What is going on? Assuming they are getting shot down by my assets, shouldn't I at least have some info on it happening? Puzzled, Akmatov

Games seems fine, but Scenario Editor doesn't load. UPDATE: seems like there have been update far beyond Matrix. is there any way to use the Scenario Editor with win7 x64? weird the two companion programs got separated.

Just analised the scenario Block2 and player with the victroy condition. To me it seems the game engine or database has a bug. I someone with the attached file able to get the min. vic. condition? BLOCK2t.zip

i apologize if this has already been asked, did a google search, nothing came up. why do my tankers refuel my fighters instantly? it is extremely frustrating and defeats the purpose of tankers. I'm guessing i might have accidentally turned on auto refueling? i tried hitting alt-r but problem still occurs. thanks

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to reload ship magazines. Do you need a cargo ship to reload magazines? Like refuelling air groups with some tankers pressing alt+r?

Calling MGellis... I finally snooped into what you were seeing with blank lines for ship entries in the SE with recent versions of the HCDB. The deal is that 16-bit list boxes (the scrolling list of units) can show a maximum of 8192 items (we can only have 2048 items so we don't hit that limit) or 65536 characters of information in the entire list box. It is the 65536 character limit we hit, when the SE gets there, the rest of the lines after 65536 characters are blank. Simple math shows that to fit the max possible number of entries from the game (2048), each entry in the list box for the Platform Display must be limited to 32 characters max. I hav…

Pay 40 now for HCE or pay 75ish for ultimate and get ANW too? I suppose it kind of comes down to what is available for this game now and what future development is likely? To me HCE does not strike me as a high priority for the publisher to add too many new things to. So is the current version of the game compatible with many databases and scenarios?
