  1. excellent stuff Enrique, the single rotor convertiplane makes one marvel!
  2. Well there is some good news, if only they can stay enemies.
  3. Here is a photo of the first pontoon boat my grandpa made. He always said the pontoons were missile canisters from Ft. Snelling here in MN and given the looks of the pontoons...

Unfortunately there is not enough interest in arranging a gathering at this event. Most likely I will still attend but won't be organizing any special events nor trying to convince celebrities in the community to attend. I will be attending Friday night (8 or 9pm start) through a bit on Sunday. Anyone else planning on attending?
  5. Hi Enrique, I'm not having any difficulties with your files, exporting, importing, exporting then importing... I'm using Windows 8, 64-bit and Access 2010. Please provide more detail if possible.
  6. Please create an issue report, zip up your PE and pfData file and attach them to the report as well as a link to a specific database you are trying to import. As a potential work-around, what happens when you use a pristine PE and pfData file (copied from PE.bak directory to your game directory)? In the issue report, please list the version of Access you are using. Thanks!

The folks that run NAVCON have announced their 2014 dates, October 3, 4, 5! Here is their web site: http://www.navcongames.com Here is the previous HG post: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/topic/22045-navcon-2013/ I would love to make this a gathering of us naval war gamers. Digital and Paper Harpooning to be had for sure. Who is interested? What would make you interested if you aren't already? If there is a fair bit of interest we'll start brainstorming how to make this possible and what extra activities to arrange. Maybe a trip to my homeland of Minnesota or an excursion down to Chicago? Thank you for your consideration.
  8. Haven't done it here but I think this would be a situation where you would use reference points anchored to the surface ship. Search for "Making Reference Points Relative" in the game manual.
  9. Unfortunately this is not going to happen by year end. The programming environment is all set up but there has not been time to start implementing features. I cannot give an ETA at this time.
  10. Merry Christmas (belated)!
  11. Apparently Germany has the landships bug/feature too
  12. Hi Piotr, Yes, the sale will go through and when it does I'll get you the serial number within 24 hours (most likely within 12 hours). No promises on the enhancements but a definite possibility.
  13. Not necessarily in order... Expand to handle multiple sides. Expand to handle multiple perspectives (i.e. Player A controls side NATO) Allow per map-window perspectives (i.e. Window 1 may be god mode, Window 2 NATO, Window 3 WP)
  14. That is about the easiest approach to implement. When would you need this functionality? There is a 40% or so chance we could have this working before year-end.
  15. Unfortunately there is not an inherent way to track multiple sides. If such a capability were to be implemented, how would you handle showing players detections? Would you show the true position of the detected unit or some other variation? How would you want to manage that as an umpire? Thanks!
  16. Another step, multiple colors.
  17. I'm getting a start on this. What are you looking for in terms of capabilities? I'm looking at dumping the commondb.res file (the platform database part of it anyway) either to an xml file or a SQLite database but your input is welcome and may well push me to an entirely different solution.

Yes, they are still the ones I'm familiar with. We've heard from Bond & Carlson a little more about what they are seeking in the next computer Harpoon. Unless their desires change I don't think we're the developers for them (which doesn't rule out our goal, to keep working the HC codebase). I'll be back to contacting Don Gilman again next to understand any potential licensing of the code for our uses.
  19. Echos of Larry Bond's Lashup in the Stephen Coonts book Combat. Those guns were a lot larger than these RL super guns though, built with a mountain as the supporting structure and taken out by some of Brains' rods from God. http://www.larry-bond.com/books.htm
  20. Very very early demo of our first new map interface attempt. The attachment and screenshot are the 64-bit Windows version but it looks and acts the same on Win32, Win64, OS X, iOS 6+, and a good selection of Android devices. It doesn't do much of anything, just zooms in and out (mouse wheel or +/- keys) and lets you pan with the mouse. CICMapFMXDesktop_v.0.1.0.0.zip
  21. How does one handle cooperative multiplayer in the WEGO situation? About the only thing I can figure is that the coop players would each have to control a different "side" or block of units. They just happen to have friendly relations with other side(s) with players.

Are they disinterested or play for a higher bid or ? Do you have a feel? (I know I can ask them, but I'm coming from afar.) The lines of communication have been poor enough that I have absolutely no idea. For a number of years I suspect they were going for a big budget licensing deal and a new game from the ground up. That is probably still the dream but some reality might be setting in.

Sure can! Organize thine selves . Brad and I will support you but won't lead or organize you.
