Here is a photo of the first pontoon boat my grandpa made. He always said the pontoons were missile canisters from Ft. Snelling here in MN and given the looks of the pontoons...

I enjoy trying to identify militaria, but can't say this one is obvious.

 

And since Fort Snelling was an Army Reserve base, there isn't much that would immediately leap to mind.

 

Most missile transport canisters are squared off, so I am thinking something other than a weapon, but still unsure.

 

In any event, Tony's grandpa looks to have done a fine job welding. :)
