  1. My first Tomcat sweep to the East and Close to the Black Sea works. Three pairs of F-14s down six more Backfires approaching and a few more Foxbats. That´s the only way to win this one: kill the Archers, not the Arrows. The CVBGs Vikings sunk a hostile Sub and now Harpoon armed Vikings are underway in S&D missions, sinking hostile ships. A lot of work for one carrier Group, though.
  2. After a longer break I have resumed playing it. My forces continue to destroy Libyan facilities but I still have major Problems defending the Greek airfields. Have to divert my forces and stretch my lines of defense to the utmost. Could not prevent several facilities from destruction but bagged some Backfires and recon birds. Very tense game - well crafted, Mark!
  3. A few hours playing time later...the Phoenixes take their toll. Sanitized the area South of my CVBG from Libyan Floggers, and missile boats as well with Harpoons. Soon I´ll able to switch some F-14s with tanker support East in order to defend the Greek bases. Really nice scenario so far.
  4. Just playing it. was curious how Mark, a master of small scenarios, handles the large ones. This one is a very interesting Cold War scenario playing in the Med. You have a CVBG and several Nato air bases. The bad guys have a lots of assets, too. So far the result is rather even. I lost a Tomcat and an invaluable Hawkeye and killed around a dozen Soviet and Libyan air craft. It is interesting to watch how the Soviets and Libyans destroy one neutral vessel after the other. This gives me time to organize my forces. Currently I have rearmed my Tomcats with Phoenix missiles which will make life much easier. I´m a little worried about my small carrier group: only three ships - the carrier guided by two cruisers. This means no ASW vessel. Not good. IMO not realistic, either. Curious how this works out if there are hostile diesel subs around which is rather certain I guess.
  5. Very interesting stuff, Mark!
  6. Mark, don´t underestimate your scenario design skills. Even those first H3 ANW efforts are REALLY worth playing. You are a (maybe the) master of small, complex scenarios and those clearly demonstrate that. It was my pleasure bundling them. As I´m slowly on my way back, I´ll redo the Mark Gellis Battleset, including all your scens up to the most current one. Thanks for all your brilliant work, Mark! Ralf
  7. Hi Gunny, great job! thx for all your work.
  8. Respect. Mark! Looks like I owe you a few...

Mark, I´ll restart testing, and maybe even writing, scenarios in a month or so I think.

Mark, he has posted this list on many sites; well known. We all know it. Really no need to discuss it here IMO.

Yes, old files as of November 24th 2012, again. Same problem here.

Just rebuilt (HUE 3.11 and latest HUD 4 V 1.11) and bundled all scenarios he has written so far for H3 ANW/HUE. Created a battleset directory file, too. Here it is: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/files/file/790-marks-h3-anw-scenarios-for-the-hud/ Think it´s agood way to honour his achievements.

Congratulations, Mark! Well deserved. You´ve written many fine scenarios in the short time since you switched from HC to H3 ANW. And you are the main HUD 4 tester nowadays.

Gunny, my fault - misinterpreted your latest post which sounded to me like there is a long time ahead until it comes up. 1 or 2 months is very good, of course. You´re doing a great job. In my current scenario under construction I don´t have ASROC armed ships, no problem.
  20. JSF replied to Mgellis's topic in Requests/Issues
Gunny, is it really a good idea to wait with an update so long when such a major flaw was detected? I´m no db guy thus I can´t say how much time this costs. But no-functioning weapons, be them Mavericks or ASROCs are a real show stopper. IMO those should be corrected with an own small release. The logical number for that would be 1.12; the next large update 1.20. These are the usual conventions when it comes to versions IIRC. Just my 2c but why should anybody write an ASW scenario with ASROC armed US destroyers knowing they don´t work?
  21. JSF replied to Mgellis's topic in Requests/Issues
Built a small test scenario, ASROC armed US DD Spruance vs. a Soviet Tango SSK. ASROCs don´t fire. Using the latest db version, which should be of Dec. 23rd, but looks like Nov. 24th. Definitely an db issue I think.

Same here, Gunny. Looks like you´ve uploaded the old version, not the new one. btw Happy New Year !

oops, sorry, Tony. Ok, now did it correctly.
