  1. Wellcome on board!
  2. Great video, ideed. Worth of mention from 4.54, the double launch of probably two SS-N-16a Stallion (86R)(1984) RPK-6.
  3. The Admiral Togo Japanese flagship battleship Mikasa, previously preserved by the Japanese, was saved and restored of the war damages by McArthur to keep high the Japanese proud and to catch them as new allies ...
  4. Oops, did I do that?
  5. And also employed in many scenarios , as in: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?a...mp;showfile=691 http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?a...mp;showfile=627
  6. I'm from the start very doubtious about the Meteor program, as in the F-35 case. This article says almost nothing, words, words, words and triumphalist words, and very difuse integration schedules, I fear the worst possible case. As examples: Also, is clearly a long delayed program, from Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MBDA_Meteor Will be his performances so superior when it enters in service with at least that delay? I think the Wiki entry explaining his tortuous development is worth of reading.
  7. As stated in the comments on the Commander Salamander site, the answer to the silly questions are clearly: - At the launching, in the ship bows, are the Australian and Spanish (Not German ) flags. The ski-jump shadowed the upper-third of the Spanish flag, and someone has confused absurdly the top red bar in the Spanish flag with the top black bar of the German flag - The "anti-hydrodynamic" sponsons entouring the bow bulbe are clearly provisional structures for the launching, as clearly showed in the second 27 of the launching video ...

Is worth remembering this fascinating story of not too far times ...
  9. Very funny and enlightening story ... and also another good point “Fear makes good armor but a poor blade”
  10. This scenario is modified for employ the new planes and ships included now in the Data Base reflecting the composition and modernization of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces. But it's compulsory to do mention of the historical facts: After I wrote this scenario (February 2011) the theorically moderate islamist Justice and Development Party won the November 2011 polls, and his candidate Abdelilah Benkirane was appointed First Minister of Morocco. As consequence, now in Morocco the government is clearly islamist and the facts below narrated as scenario background are only fiction, but not is fiction the current islamist government of Morocco ...
  11. Interesting page full of rare data linked to other Israeli UAVs in the chaotic site Israeli-Weapons (if you accede from the front page, you obtains almost nothing ... ): http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/air...eron/Heron.html
  12. I think the current range calculation is more or less correct for game effects. My only doubt about ranges is the elevation range of anti-aircraft artillery, but I solved it in my personal DB increasing the plane-throwed bomb range to between 2-4 nm if the bomb is dropped from great heights (and reducing the PH to 3, 5, 7 and 12)
  13. Just in this same moment reading about Ground Based Interceptor and THAAD. THAAD and his TDY-2 radar was operationally deployed in Hawaii in 2009 (it's longtime in the DB): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminal_High...de_Area_Defense Source: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=new...id=aOrc17s0Mz7g TDY-2 radar picture here: http://media.defenseindustrydaily.com/imag...HAAD_GBR_lg.jpg
  14. In short, French engineers claimed the Rafale M is fully compatible without modifications with ski-jump ramp equipped aircraft carriers, from Vikramaditya to ex-Varyag, passing by Brazilian projects and the indecise CVF design ... I only hope the British government don't read this article http://www.meretmarine.com/article.cfm?id=120001
  15. Congrats, Tony !!!
  16. I think the article author's has never played Harpoon in none of his variants ...
  17. First images, and a clear attempt of dissinformative information ... http://www.warisboring.com/2012/06/24/a-ne...tealth-fighter/
  18. A simply and useful directory of military helicopters: http://www.groundsystems-index.com/images/...megsi/MHH08.pdf
  19. A curious and detailed web site about the Vickers VC.10 and variants, with in-deep analysis of the military conversions: http://www.vc10.net/
  20. Very interesting book, I don't know it previously (ironically the action is settled in Florida, but months earlier to Castro taking the power in Cuba!). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alas,_Babylon My favorite nuclear war book is a non-fiction almost humoristic essay by Martin Caidin When War Come , probably of 1971(I don't see more references in the Net). http://www.amazon.com/When-War-Comes-Marti...n/dp/0688001114
  21. Looking for the rare Scarab UAV recently introduced by Brad in the DB, I've finded this beautiful web site. I remember how I was shocked from almost 40 years ago when I saw the progressive evolution of the Rutan designs in the Popular Mechanics pages, begining with Varieze and Quickie, and now, he's at the same space edge . Not strictly military history, but I'm sure it's worth of mention ... http://stargazer2006.online.fr/
  22. As per Air International March 2002 issue, the IOC should be Octobre 2003.
  23. I think it will be only a very minor issue in the Syrian crisis ...
