Blackfive - Alas Babylon

Featured Replies

One of the few fiction books on nuclear war I recommend is "Alas Babylon." Well worth a read even today, and an excellent addition to a survival library.

It came to mind when catching up on news today. The war in that book began with an incident involving a military plane at Latakia. Some of the comments from the Turkish government could be quotes from the book...

I read that book years ago, and haven't thought of it in a long time.

Agree, an excellent read.

Very interesting book, I don't know it previously (ironically the action is settled in Florida, but months earlier to Castro taking the power in Cuba!).

My favorite nuclear war book is a non-fiction almost humoristic essay by Martin Caidin

When War Come , probably of 1971(I don't see more references in the Net).
