TonyE
A week and a half ago I happily became a married man. We left on our honeymoon to Hawaii early the next morning. The entire time was spent on Oahu and we had a great time together on the north shore and visiting Pearl Harbor. While sunning on the beach the show was: P-3 Orion Coast Guard C-130 variant Seahawk of some kind Coast Guard Dauphin At Pearl Harbor the show (besides the WWII attractions): F-22s in open air revetments F-22 in the air with USS Missouri in the foreground, F-22 doing what looked like a wicked sliding turn at low level, something you'd only want to do with an excess of power F-15s on the ground 4 x Burkes! (so many in one spot was a surprise) 1 x Tico Back to work today, hopefully some Harpoon time later in the week after all of the excitement! TEPonta
Congrat's Tony! Looks like you did pretty well for yourself there. I shipped out of Pearl from '78 to '80. I'd guess the lineup in the harbor looks a lot different now.

TonyE
Oh, somehow I forgot that a sea based x-band radar was hanging out at Pearl too. I wonder if the collection of platforms was in large part for the SM-3 test http://www.spacenews.com/military/120627-s...oys-target.html . I don't think my CG photo has the penant number but we'll see if I can spot it as Lake Erie.

THAAD and his TDY-2 radar was operationally deployed in Hawaii in 2009 (it's longtime in the DB): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminal_High...de_Area_Defense In June 2009, the United States deployed a THAAD unit to Hawaii, along with a sea-based radar, to defend against a possible North Korean launch targeted at the archipelago. donaldseadog
The entire time was spent on Oahu and we had a great time together on the north shore and visiting Pearl Harbor. You're such a romantic Tony, two weeks in close proximity to one of the world's major naval bases ... Mrs E is so lucky and don't say you didn't choose the location, I won't believe you

pmaidhof
congratulations and welcome back Tony. I'd have to say that in picture #1 the grin on your face is due to blowing off the warning not to turn nobs or toggle switches.
