Russian AF to get 10 MiG-31BM in 2012
As confirmed in the article, the definitive MiG-31BM as result of previous MiG-31 conversions has only 4xR-37M, not 6xR-37 as the ill-fated MiG-31M, the projected new-build planes, project deleted near 1997 (also, as other basic difference, the MiG-31M was not equipped with internal gun). It was too expensive or impossible to modify the underfuselage of MiG-31/B to carry 6xR-37, as in the projected MiG-31M. Because that, the MiG-31BM will carry only 4xR-37M. Also explained in the Aerofax/Red Stars book about the MiG-31/MiG-25.

I've very little spare time these weeks, but I'm playing and enjoying it very much. I've played as 18 hours playing time, and by moment: 239 chinese planes shot-down. A lot of Y-8 AEW, Hong-5 ECM/Il-28, Hong-6/Tu-16, J-10 and Flanker-G, and some J-8. 4 chinese submarines sunked, I think 2xKilo II, 1xMing, 1xYuan. 2 by Orion, 1 by P-8 and 1 by Japanese submarine. Two chinese AGI or similar unarmed ships sunked near the Guangzhou coast. 10 AD Mobile and 7 armored (coastal based SSM, I suposse) destroyed in the Chinese base near Paracel islands, the base also destroyed, mainly by the Guam-based B-1B, and later by Clark-based F-16. Next, I want to destroy Guangzhou East, forcing the Chinese to deplete his SAM with decoys, using HARMs, and later obliterating the airport with the JASSM-equipped B-1B... The Chinese have shoot down only seven Western planes, basically F-15J, F-15E and EP-3. I'm afraid of mine presence, but the surface group has MCM helicopters ... Very interesting, balanced and funny scenario, thanks Clemens! SPOILER ALERT: The J-20 are coming near Japan some 15 hours after the game start. This data and a fourth targetable Port and Airport base in the targeting menu, I suppose they are some occult base ... None of his shore based? cruise missiles have reached my bases.

Requests for the HCDB (Official DB of HCE) and HCDB2
I think you caught this one already, earlier in the thread. Thanks! Ohhh, probably I'm too busy these weeks ... Casually some minutes ago I've detected this two ship classes, not present in the DB, at least not as UAE warships ... http://www.meretmarine.com/article.cfm?id=119814

Requests for the HCDB (Official DB of HCE) and HCDB2
Some more minor errors in the DB: Entry 10970 Scan Eagle Block D and entry 11324 Saab 340B SAR-200 now have the same loadout, 55366, now the range of Scan Eagle is 1300 nm! (I think we can keep entry 56687 for the Saab, and 55366 for the Scan Eagle with 54 nm range). The entries 11320 YS-11EB and 11321 YS-11A have not loadout. Entry 11325 C-212A Aviocar has RCS=0.

An oddball, I think it was sometimes in the DB, of easy execution using a generic helicopter patrol loadout: AS.532UL Cougar HORIZON (1998-2008): Helicoptere de Observation Radar et d’Investigation de ZONe. Four helicopters for the ALAT, 1st Regiment d’Helicopteres de Combat, based at Phalsbourg, used for battleground surveillance. Deployed to Macedonia in 1999 for surveilland of the Kosovo conflict. Range=491 nm. Cruise speed=97 knots. Max speed=141 knots. (Sometimes I see in the DB and in the paper rules they are confussion between the helicopter maximum level speed and the helicopters maximum supportable dive speed, higher than maximum speed). Thomson-CSF/Thales X-band MTI radar range=108 nm, with MTI. http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurocopter_Co...Version_Horizon http://www.aviastar.org/helicopters_eng/snias_cougar-aew.php http://www.helicopassion.com/fr/03/puma03.htm And Air International March 2002 issue, page 169 (“The helicopters are fitted with a comprehensive self-defence suite comprising active and passive systems”).

More on the Mirage F1EM VI/MF2000, after reading the Moroccan forum: 4xAASM 250 possible in inner twin pylons. First lot of 50xAASM, GPS/Inertially guided (Precis configuration: 2xMagic 2+2/4xAASM+ventral DT+1xJammer PAJ-FA+1xDecoy pod). Intercept configuration: 2xMagic 2+2xMICA IR/EM+ventral DT+1xJammer PAJ-FA+1xDecoy pod. RDY-3 (Ex- EC 400) radar: 108 nm range, LDSD/SS, PH=60. 8 targets capable. PAJ-FA is a underwing slim jammer Barem derivated. Damocles laser designator pod, INS with GPS/Laser gyroscope. Corail Chaff/Flare dispenser underwing x 252 EM/112 IR cartridges. Phimat Chaff/Flare dispenser in outer pylon x 152? EM/112 IR cartridges. Wide and square new RWR (Cats-150?) in the tail, probably ESM capable. About the delivery of upgraded planes rate (i.e. 12 in 2010, the rest to February 2011, IOC 2011?): Also are mentioned ARMAT (old, improbable) and Exocet as options, but as cited by the upgrade manufacturer (I see the Moroccan F-1EM VI are not wired for Exocet). The ultimate designation is Mirage F1EM VI, the pedestrian explanation is: Originally the Moroccan Mirage F-1 were: Mirage F-1CH (H stands for the late King Hassan II). Mirage F-1EH/-200 (H stands for the late King Hassan II). Mirage F-1EM VI (M VI stands for the current King Mohammed VI) Some sources: http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showt...-Videos)/page54 http://archivomirage.blogspot.com.es/2009/...resenta-el.html http://www.arabianaerospace.aero/mirage-up...hter-force.html http://forum.keypublishing.com/archive/ind...hp?t-71685.html http://www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=gCBPs5Kya5Y&page=1 (mention of the verosimil 200 Km radar range).- Requests for the HCDB (Official DB of HCE) and HCDB2
The last week I penetrate in Moroccan fora looking for data about the Mirage F1EM VI/MF2000, but I don't saw nothing about the Tiger III data. I will see again ... http://far-maroc.forumpro.fr/t396-f-5a-b-e-et-f-des-fra Probably with FIAR Grifo M radar (as in the Pakistani Mirage III/5, but sometimes is mentioned the more probable Grifo F (I keep with it), as in the Brazilian and Singaporean F-5E, and the Grifo F/X Plus), as is mentioned with insistency in the Moroccan fora (see below, but sometimes is mentioned the EL/M-3032), as the Chilean and Thailandese upgraded aircraft. Flight Global states the radar is EL/M-3032: http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/...-upgrade-64402/ Perhaps Israeli missiles also, ever was good relation between Moroccan and Israeli security forces, not now, after the Islamist government in Morocco ... Elettronica ELT/555 ECM pod confirmed in the upgrade. Litening II mentioned sometimes in the upgrade. AGM-65B/G/L Maverick-equipped from origin. AIM-9B/D/J as original AAM, and after the conversion in Tiger III AIM-9M and probably Python 3. IFR from origin. RWR ALR-66(VE) replaced by RWR/ESM ALR-606(V). In the Marrakesh 2012 Air Show, the pannel in the F-5E TIII says she is compatible with Israeli missiles and recce pods (Literally: "" POUR LES RENDRE COMPATIBLE AVEC LES MISSILES ET LES NACELLES RECO PRODUITES DANS L'ETAT HEBREU ..."). And later, a poster in the Moroccan forum says the Israeli missile and pods are in Morocco: Python 3/4 and Lizard LGB. 24 planes upgraded in some sources, first one delivered probably from 2001, the last one probably in 2003, probably all the planes remaining, comprising perhaps 23xF-5E and 4xF-5F. Sometimes designated F-5TIII. The Wiki in Français is more extended than the Spanish version and both than the English language edition, with missile types named (no Israeli missiles present here). The Wiki in Arab is ridiculously short (The French and Spanish are the cult languages in Morocco, the Spanish language is now of more limited usage than French, the Arab language variants are mainly for family and friends use). http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forces_a%C3%A...royales_(Maroc) From the very detailed http://home.eblcom.ch/f5enthusiast/index.html site:- Requests for the HCDB (Official DB of HCE) and HCDB2
Yeah, I was aware of all that. I was wondering which version Mozambique managed to get their mitts on. So 48 MiG-21bis Fishbed N for them? Seems a large order. Didn't include other versions? I don't see references to other MiG-21 version (neither MiG-21U, as remarked in some sources as absent in the Mozambique OOB). And this was a very conjuntural situation because the Civil War. The sad end of the MiG-21bis force was: "After the pull-out of Soviet and Cuban instructors in 1988/89, Mozambique lacked the capability of continuing to support its air force and the surviving examples were subsequently left to rust in hangars at Maputo and different other airfields". http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_197.shtml- World War III scenario...please comment
And very probably you will win- World War III scenario...please comment
The Soviets not were afraid of first use nukes. The Soviet plan habitually included a initial use of tactical nukes against NATO's air defence systems (i.e., a tactical nuke against EACH NATO's SAM site or airbase, a grand total of some 1000 nukes over Europe in the first few hours of WWIII!!!!). Also, a salvo of 1000 strategic missiles as first strike was in the Soviet plan ... About tactical nuclear first strike on NATO airbases: http://www.16va.be/3.8_armes_speciales_eng_part1.html About tactical nuclear first strike on NATO SAM sites: http://www.16va.be/hawk_strike_eng_part2.html Some other sources and hints: http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/nuclear/nuclearwar1.html http://www.airpower.maxwell.af.mil/airchro...r/petersen.html http://www.foia.cia.gov/docs/DOC_000027854..._0000278545.pdf- Requests for the HCDB (Official DB of HCE) and HCDB2
Another easy idea: Soviet submarines with the losed nuclear torpedo carrying capability, as Foxtrot and Whiskey, but not limitated to them.- Requests for the HCDB (Official DB of HCE) and HCDB2
Thanks by the explanations, Brad and Craig. Yes, I was using "Famous Russian Aircraft" too. About the MiG-23S in Cuba, Cuban sources says nothing, but they are not very credible either ...- Requests for the HCDB (Official DB of HCE) and HCDB2
Another very easy idea: C-17 SOLL II Special Operations variant, NOE capable, in service at least from 2001: http://airforce.americanspecialops.com/spe...ions-low-level/ - Sailors of the year
