I don't normally post these kinds of things....but I gotta ask.... ...what is wrong with Universal Health Care? I watch CNN and CBC....all I see is a big racket about how the US President is trying to bring big government into people's lives....and death panels if you like Fox News..... I went to Newport News to speak at a conference a few years back and the cabbie I got when I was on my way to the Nauticus museum to look at USS Wisconsin called me a socialist. He still didn't let up even after I pointed out how screwed he'd be if he got into an accident right now. So can someone from below the 49th parallel please tell me why Universal Health Care is such…

Today I checked the TF2 trailer on Youtube. It would seem that the SAM firing routines of the US Navy are bugged http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb2fUOW1ne4&feature=fvst (look at 0:27 - 0:50) Best portrayal ever of a CVN hit by Russian missiles anyway (even if here they are evil Transformers).

Sometime this weekend I'm going to attempt the upgrade of our forum software. The site/forum may be down for a number of hours (lets hope not days) during the process and we will lose our fantastic pastel blue theming. We will also lose the Issue Tracker until I can cook up an alternative but the existing data will not be lost. The upgrade will give us nothing we need and many things we'd like! The upgrade after that should give us some fantastic tools to help integrate the HC game with the HarpGamer site.

A tool for aspiring warship designers to crank out some reasonably accurate numbers on how your ship will perform from a staying afloat and tooling around perspective. I suggest looking at the 3.0 betas rather than version 2 for something that is easier to get running. http://www.springsharp.com/

A little off the wall I admit, but this is the best place I can think of to pose the question since this group has members from all over the world. A retired SMCM buddy of mine asked me about the "Rum Ration" practice in the British Navy as opposed to the strict dry policy in the USN and also the Navy's of the rest of the world. Any of you guys from other nations, please let me know. Thanx, Buddha [Thread moved here from the Harpoon Classic forum. -CV32]

Great work, Tony! Glad to see that you and all the staff here are still working for harpoon and try to make it better! But, personally speaking, I wish the ANW could also be updated, to fix the bugs and add more new features if possible. PS. I saw there are some players who play CMANO request the programmers to modify the game so that it can be connected with STK, just like Harpoon Pro(or Harpoon MilSim). What do you think?

HarpoonPages invites you to vote for the 2006 Pooner and Lifetime Pooner. The big news is that this is the 10th Anniversary of the first Pooner vote (Tom Wenck won back in 1996 for his pfedit program). Thanks to yours truly, Don Gilman, Larry Bond, Chris Carlson, and Brad Leyte (Pooner 2005) the award this year includes adoration & thanks of the Harpoon community and more. The 2006 Pooner will receive a first edition hard cover copy of Red Storm Rising, in Very Good condition (if not fine but I'm no book dealer) signed not only by Tom Clancy, but Larry Bond as well! The 2006 Lifetime Pooner will receive a copy of Dangerous Ground signed by Larry Bond an…

New to Harpoon and Harpgamer. Just wondering what the major difference is betwen Harpoon Commanders Edition and Harpoon 3 ANW? Might be a "Which is better coke or Pepsi" question but.... I don't wanna to buy both or do I ???? Used to play Harpoon Classic years ago and want a new version....so....... Wasn't sure which Forum would be best to place this question in either so here you go.

I don't want to do spoilers or tell-a-tale, but this week I did rewatch this TV series (I saw it probably 1982) and surprisingly the plot is directly Cold War related! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nightmare_Man

Tom Clancy, Larry Bond, Steven Coontz, Dale Brown - I have read most of their stuff. Did not necessary retain the copy. I will give a brief discretion of a passage of action - and can anyone help with name the book or author.I'd guess book was written between 1988 (last year Reagan was President) to 2006 (into Clinton years) Toward the end of the book. A ballistic missile has been launched toward Washington DC. An Aegis Cruiser is positioned in the Anacostia or Potomac River. And they start firing a the missile - with a Sm (standard Missile)- First missile has a proximity fuze and fragmentation warhead. he describe fact closure rate is Too fast - proximity fuse works pe…
