Requests for the HCDB (Official DB of HCE) and HCDB2

I couldn't see a MiG-29SMT in here. Is there one?

No, and I suppose I should add it in the Yemeni flavour.

Thanks.

  • Enrique, if you would be so kind, can you post a list of the carriers where you think capacity needs to be adjusted, and some authority for the requested change. (And, as you know, HCCW has its own th

I played around with these a little, and have a few thoughts about drones- NO radar- The HCE game engine is irresponsible about activating a radar. Once detected by ESM, the drones are relatively easy to kill. Add ESM- and make them VERY stealthy. This will force the human player to be careful about activating radars and lead to more visual, short range detections. Much faster. I'm thinking at high alt 850/1250/2500 or so. Longer range. A typical (F-15) fighter fleeing on burner will cause a drone to RTB with a 1000 NM range. Some area defence for the mothership.

agree with the radar and esm. Flying vhigh was a challenge, cuts down on effective throwing sticks. Maybe the current range is OK, there has to be some weakness (doesn't there, there always is in the movies!) Should there also be a vlow flying critter to add to the close in defense? Maybe slow cruise but very quick high speeds and same short range heat ray thingee?? I must admit to giving up throwing nukes at the mother ship, I just packed my bags and went home (sorry London).

Have deleted the alien drone's radar, and added ESM instead. Jacked up the speed some, to a max of 1,750 kt. And increased range a little to 1,250 nm.

Cut the mothership's DP in half, to 2500 DP. I don't want to add area defense because that means another Weapons Annex entry as well as a Mounts Annex entry.

And, as donaldseadog points out, there have to be some weaknesses. ;)

Will probably but up a new DB build soon, so get your requests in. :)

- Moroccan FREMM FFG Mohammed VI, 2013, as the French ASW ones but without SCALP naval.

http://www.meretmarine.com/article.cfm?id=111709 (they are other new moroccan OPV, I'll try to find it later this weekend).

- Italian KC-767A, IOC May 2011, four planes (but now I see they are a generic entry for KC-767, I'm sorry!).

- Perhaps some generic business jet with ESM.

- Perhaps that very rare bird from Luxembourg or other generic sea patrol civilian turboprop with FLIR?

- The Spanish FF Descubierta class converted in OPV (Without ASW systems and without Sea Sparrow/Aspide) from 2004. More details later or at request.

How many Sylver VLS? Aster 15 only?

As can be some confussion in this matter, I think a more complete answer is (I see also the basic SYLVER mount is of eight missiles):

Aquitaine (French ASW FREMM, IOC 2012)

16xAster 15 in SYLVER A43 launchers.

16xSCALP Naval in SYLVER A70 launchers.

8xExocet MM.40 Block III in Exocet launchers.

1x76mm Oto Melara Super Rapid.

2x2 324mm TT for 19 MU-90.

2x12.7mm MG (to be replaced by 2x20mm tele-commanded guns).

1xlarge helicopter.

Region 10 (French FREDA/Air Defence FREMM, IOC 2021. Previously to be general-purpose with the designation AVT)

16xAster 15 in SYLVER A43 launchers.

16xAster 30 in SYLVER A50 launchers.

8xExocet MM.40 Block III in Exocet launchers.

1x76mm Oto Melara Super Rapid.

2x2 324mm TT for 19 MU-90.

2x12.7mm MG (to be replaced by 2x20mm tele-commanded guns).

1xlarge helicopter.

F590 Carlo Bergamini (Italian ASW FREMM, IOC 2012):

32xAster 15 in SYLVER A43 launchers.

4xOtomat Mk2 Block IV in Teseo launchers.

4xMilas in Teseo launchers.

2x76mm Oto Melara Super Rapid.

2x3? 324mm TT for 19 MU-90.

2x20mm/80 KBA Oto Melara Oerlikon.

2xlarge helicopter.

F595 (Italian multi-role FREMM, IOC 2017?):

32xAster 15 in SYLVER A43 launchers (perhaps some Aster 30). Empar radar replacing Herakles.

8xOtomat Mk2 Block IV in Teseo launchers.

1x127mm/64 LW Oto Melara.

1x76mm Oto Melara Super Rapid.

2x2 324mm TT for 19 MU-90.

2x20mm/80 KBA Oto Melara Oerlikon.

2xlarge helicopter.

Mohammed VI (Morocco, IOC 2013)(don't confuse she with the Floreal class Mohammed V):

32xAster 15 in SYLVER A43 launchers.

8xExocet MM.40 Block III in Exocet launchers.

1x76mm Oto Melara Super Rapid.

2x2 324mm TT for 19 MU-90.

2x12.7mm MG (to be replaced by 2x20mm tele-commanded guns).

2?xlarge helicopter.

Others considerations:

It's possible the instalation of a triple SYLVER A35 launcher with 24xMICA VL enplaced port of the helicopter hangar.

They are a space reserve forward of the bridge for other 16xSYLVER A70/50/35 missile launchers.

The hangar is capable of a EH101 size helicopter (large helicopter).

The helicopter-carrying capability is listed usually as 2xNH90 (small helicopters) or 1xEH101 Merlin (large helicopter).

The MiG 29K has existed in the database for quite some time (INTL). I believe that in Indian service it can carry a wider range of weapons than shown in HCE, however. While I'm whining about the DB, one request as well-The INS Kolkata class, with the Barak 2 area defence SAM?

I haven't forgotten these. I've added the Kolkata DDG for the next release. The MiG-29K entry I've tweaked a little, but will hold off on new loadouts for a bit as it may merit a new Aircraft Annex entry altogether.

The MiG-29K entry I've tweaked a little, but will hold off on new loadouts for a bit as it may merit a new Aircraft Annex entry altogether.

I think is a good idea, an "old" MiG-29K with limited radar and underwing weapons as project in the last times of the Cold War, and a "modern" MiG-29K, as those entering in service now for India and Russia (to remplace the Su-33).

Working on a new scenario in the EC2003 MEDC battleset, using HCDB-110531, I notice that Decimomannu-RED airbase is rather badly misplaced, being located at 36d 25m N, 8d 52m E (on the north shore of Africa) versus its proper position of 39d 21m N, 8d 58m E (on the island of Sardinia). The BLUE version of the base seems to be fine.

Screwed up the merge job when moving your post here, Warhorse64. In any event, thanks for finding the error and bringing my attention to it. I will fix it for the next release, which will happen any day now.

About British radars, some finding researching about other matters:

- A new British radar, ARTISAN 3D (HF/SS, BAE states the instrumented range as "at least 200 Km", I think some 150 nm if the video range circles are 30 nm wide), will be installed in the CVF Queen Elizabeth class superseding from the start the forecasted SAMPSON.

- ARTISAN 3D also will be installed, replacing the Type 996 from 2011, on:

- HMS Ocean.

- HMS Albion class.

- Type 23/Duke class frigates.

Also is mentionated as forerunner of ARTISAN 3D the AR327/Type 101/Commander (IOC 1997, HF?) and Type 102?/Commander SL (IOC 2006, HF?), S-band ground-based long range tactically-deployable (on C-130) radar used by RAF (from 2006) and Germany (IOC 2012, 6xCommander SL, Project ARED).

Doh! Sorry, it never even occurred to me that I should have put the item in this thread. My apologies!

Good find!

Perhaps this Pakistani drone, Uqab II, it sembles operative, but I've only read this some minutes ago, but now I see is small and irrelevant:

http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htairfo/a...s/20110726.aspx

July 26, 2011: Pakistan Navy has formed its first Uqab II UAV squadron. The Uqab II is a 190 kg (418 pound) aircraft with a 20 kg (44 pounds) payload of sensors. It was designed and built in Pakistan. Endurance is 4-5 hours and top speed is 150 kilometers an hour. Max altitude is 4,900 meters (15,000 feet). The flight control software allows the Uqab II to perform fully robotic missions. The UAV can take off and land automatically, and use GPS to fly to up to a thousand waypoints. Flight patterns can be changed while the aircraft is in the air. Operators can control Uqab IIs up to 150 kilometers away. Normally carried is a full color, stabilized camera that transmits back live video to the operator. The UAV is 4.15 meters (12.9 feet) long and has a 5.76 meter (17.9 foot) wingspan. The Uqab II will be used for coastal patrol.

And without Harpoon, they also lost the Signaal radar and the air search radar IIRC.
