Need info om projected f-14 variant
A quick overview of some of the more extreme upgrades is available at http://www.topedge.com/alley/text/other/tomcat21.htm Which particular variant are you interested in? Copying Items from one DB to another: There is currently no easy way to copy an entire platform from one DB to another. The next update to the game does not have a release date as yet. So less than a year and more than two months as a guess.

How Do I Open the PE?
Hi Gorgin, If you do not have Access, you'll first want to download and install the HCE 2008.024 patch if you haven't already, http://www.matrixgames.com/games/downloads.asp?gid=325. Then use Windows Explorer to find your HCE folder, which by default will be C:\Matrix Games\HCE\. In that folder will be a file called hce_art.exe, run that (it is an installer for Microsoft Access 97 Runtime). That will get you enough of Access to run the PE. Once that installation is completed, you can double-click pfBuild2005.mdb in that same folder, that is the PE (there is also a shortcut to it in your Start Menu). You'll want to Import a dabase first off once you are in the PE. Note, if you are running Vista, the PE won't run right without making a special shortcut, holler back if that is the case for you.

Steve's Wish List
LOL, thanks for posting up your list. You can enter pictures in the database, see http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=632 and ask questions as needed. about submarines, you are not wrong on being able to fire too much too fast at too many. I don't know about the straight runners either to be honest. I was looking at the code recently and at some point in the engagement they do a bit of tracking, but that may be at the very conclusion of the engagement where the range to target has to be fudged anyway to ever get a hit.

2008.032 Release Notes
Stalin verified both of these items at: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?s...post&p=7912 Guys, when you verify things are really fixed, please add a post to the requisite release notes thread, this is where I keep track of whether stuff is really working or not. As Stalin did, it is great to post on the other relevant threads as well.

USNI demo
Okay, in the interest of getting the scenarios made, I've re-enabled loading of user scenarios in the GE for debug builds. That means when it comes time to rest release builds, we need to remember to make sure players can't load user scenarios. Including in this build is also a scenario editor to be used for re-creating the USNI scenarios. The database for each battleset is built in to that battleset. The USNI database is not yet complete, all of the units for the first scenario are present, Brad suggested most of the DB is actually done. These scenarios cannot be unit for unit recreations of the originals since the database is very different (the original USNI database was targeted at an earlier time than the scenario background suggests, Brad's re-make of the DB brings the database up to the proper time frame so forces are unbalanced when the scens are 'copied'. I think this will mean creating two variants of each scenario, one for play by NATO, one by the Soviet Union. If you sign up to make one of the scens and feel that isn't needed, run with it. Volunteers Needed: Please state which item you are working on and your ETA, post the results to this thread when ready for testing. If you miss your ETA, someone else may take over the item, time is an issue and testing scens will stretch our manpower, not to mention making them. I would like to see ETAs on each item of two weeks or less. Then we'll have to test and refine who knows how many times. Then the demo will be released in one form or another. Scenario for HCE/EC2003 GIUK: Baltic Fury
Hi Ralf, I'm actually seeing this in your Worst Case save, it looks like the GE is endlessly looping through the queued events (intercepts, attack orders, turn sensor on/off, turn the planes,...) endlessly which means there is a bug in there somewhere as events should not be re-queued for the same game second. I don't think you need spend time at this point re-creating a save for Baltic Fury. As for the scenario being too big, at the point of your save it is still running at faster than 1:1 on my machine (Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz), but not as fast as 5:1.

File - Custom - Approach
Okay, I took this scenario for a spin as the UK. The first thing I noticed was my surface groups and subs had nice paths but did not start the scenario moving. If that was intentional, no biggie, otherwise make sure the initial point in the course editor has a speed set. Next my submarines crushed the roving forced of the Argentines without loss. I don't know how you can even up the ASW battle but if there is some way, it might be advisable. On the flip side, the scen might play pretty well from the Red side. I expected my Sea Harriers to have the AEW advantage but ended up struggling to even reach parity in the air battle so something went right there in your design. I was able to tank to get the Nimrod close enough to get shot down. Will look forward to future improvements on this scenario and seeing the orders . Thanks wmarsh, a good start! This was written about the April 13th, 2008 variant of the scenario.
