That sounds like a plan to me. It is tough to know when you've seen the right activity (hence the log) since what we're doing is preventing red from committing fratricide in some situations.
  2. Brad, the Zumwalt appears quite a bit too stealthy in the HCDB-090128 with a RCS of 75. Thanks for taking a look!

You were close except we needed missile logging not ECM logging (I should have used missile in my example if I would have been thinking). Please try again (ge.log in your zip was the right file) Change the -l ecm to -l missile in your command line. Getting there
  4. There is no way to enable fast saves with the mouse (i.e. no menu toggle to turn it on and off), it is via hotkey or command line.

archiving this for now but I have high hopes of release of these mods at some point.

Getting closer folks, some time consuming ones left to check (and still some drop dead easy ones).
  7. Akula, care to put your stamp of approval on this one? If you approve of the result please change the post icon to a heart to indicate fix accepted by reporter. Thanks!

Hope to see you back in the future RedMike.
  9. archiving this since nobody responded.

Brad, how about confirming the first item?

sending this one to the archive spot for lack of activity and lack of anyone pinning anything down.
  12. the damaged subs do split these days, implemented in 2009.something less than 022.

Really you could test for massive memory leakage after running on autoplay with the staff assistant dialogs enabled. I've done that and not seen the same memory increases are before this (I have little doubt there are memory leaks but not nearly as big as this one). marking testing complete until someone makes a case to the contrary.

hmm, I think we can call the testing on this build complete. I'm not sure you have any way to know whether reload events are being layered or not but I know reloads still happen (and assume you do too).
  15. Maybe we can ask the Brits for some help, isn't their specialty new carrier tricks after all In all seriousness though I'm rooting for EMALs, it must save a lot of trouble over the life of the ship and probably extend the life of the launched aircraft as well with the ease of manipulating the acceleration at each part of the launch.
  16. So what do we think, after just finishing reading http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=3753 I almost believe that what he is saying is possible. Still I don't neccessarily see how you break up the monster contractors (LockMart and such), or maybe more specifically how you re-invigorate competitiveness in the industry.
  17. I haven't gone at the issue with a scientific approach yet (i.e. windiff) but you should be good to go installing 3.7.0.0, then 3.9.2.0b ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/Harpoon3ANW...e-v392bComp.zip, then 3.9.4
  18. I'm okay with losing M but I know there are parties who will cry foul at any available command being left out so be prepared.

I have to like the avatar Rattler, welcome.
  20. Mini AAR [minor SPOILER ALERT] So this was an awesome scenario. I had all the forces I needed to enact a clear victory yet due to a poor command decision Red achieved minimum victory, I achieved no victory. This scenario played well in about 2 hours of real life time while chatting on IRC. My first daring move was to take 30 minutes to re-arm my P-3 with the ASuW loadout instead of ASW. I feared that lost 30 minutes would doom me. In the end it didn't. Finding F-16s with nifty C5 variant AMRAAMs was a pleasant surprise, at least until I saw they have the somewhat short ranged APG-66 radar. Still I didn't lose an F-16. Red struct first sinking one of my outlying ships. The attackers were not found. Soon afterwards a pair of F-16s downed a pair of Su-30 using 4 AMRAAM. My surface search sweep with the P-3 was going well, it found a Red ship, I sent two Precis loadout F-16s to prosecute the contact. The F-16s had to dip into their bingo fuel reserves but sank the enemy ship and made it back to base. The my better sense left me and I let the P-3 wander farther from friendly air cover. Somehow it got a sniff of pursuing fighters (ESM?) so I turned tail and ran as fast as possible. By chance the P-3 found another Red ship and being in dire straights anyway fired off two Harpoons, sinking the Red ship. Amazingly the first pair of Sidewinders missed the P-3 by which time friendly F-16s were within range of the P-3 but no enemy was yet detected. Then came the P-3's kiss of death, another pair of AIM-9P, this time one hit home and my major surface search asset was destroyed. I could have used some ASW helos as search platforms but given the search the P-3 undertook I didn't expect any more enemy ships within range. At this point my strategy turned to preserving my force rather than destroying the enemies. The F-16s continued to down enemy planes, nothing got thru to attack group ABS. Then with 7 minutes to go one of my lesser ships stumbled onto a two ship enemy group, well within 57mm gun range. The 57mm let loose and Gabriels flew, the enemy lost their more capable ship but the less capable one was only damaged to 19%. I hit the Flank button and closed to 40mm range, that got us to 27% damage on the remaining enemy ship. Time ran out before the mounts could reload. That was an awesome scenario Mark and it fit within my limited play time this Sunday evening, thanks again!
  21. I guess I'm not that young anymore (31) but I started with the DOS version playing at the neighbor's house. Seems the first version I owned was winharp 1.5.

yes, enough for today, I think I'd actually like to play the game a little!

If you need lots of pictures we could result to that, until then. Make yourself a shortcut to Winharp32.exe.. 1. Right-click winharp32.exe and click Copy 2. Right-click a blank spot in that same window and click Paste Shortcut 3. Now right-click that new shortcut and click Properties 4. Look at the target line, it either ends in Winharp32.exe or Winharp32.exe", either way add a space at the end then get on with your logging items. 5. My target line for ECM Logging is: D:\Games\HCCE\Winharp32.exe -l ecm -f d:\games\hcce\ecmlog.txt 6. That line says I have HCE installed in D:\Games\HCCE, you probably don't so keep your own path, the -l ecm says to log ECM information, -f d:\games\hcce\ecmlog.txt says where to put the logged information. 7. A more simple example is to add the following to the right of your winharp32.exe -l ecm c:\ecmlog.txt 8. That will dump the logging information to a file you can open with notepad at the root of your C:\ drive. Hopefully that will get you started.
  24. That'd be great! Don Gilman is going to send me some of the early prototypes to get running in DOSBox or some mechanism that will work on most current computers so that would be a great companion piece.
  25. TonyE replied to TonyE's topic in General
agreed, but thankfully that finishes the testing on this build I've marked issue 46 as Confirmed, downgraded from Fix Coded.
