Hi Everyone,

We had a really good run of testing a little while back and I'm hoping you can all gear up and make a push to verify open release notes items so that we can wrap things up and toss out a patch. There are still some bugs I want to fix but I think we're pretty close feature-wise. Thank you.

Can you provide a list of the really, really gotta be done things?

For a patch:

• All of the unconfirmed release notes items should be confirmed
  
• I want to take a stab at the formation placekeeping problems, no promise on fixing them for the patch but they merit another attempt
  
• I want to look at the recent reports of the SE formation editing issues, aircraft of wrong ships, etc.
  
• I also want to look at command line switches in the GE and SE that would aid the HC launcher. It would be nice to put them in even though the launcher isn't ready.

I hope everyone noted the side effect that I got enthused and did more coding. I have no idea why it works but history has shown that it does (even moreso when we get a good exchange going on IRC).

 

Anyway, keep it up and we'll soon have a patch. Then we can whip out something for the 20th anniversary edition of the game, then get on to finally the bigger projects to really expand the game.

I had some free time today, and might be able to work on the others tomorrow. Also nice to see that the SE bug I found was confirmed and not just me being special again.

Brad tested 2008.057, so until the next build it looks like the testing is up to date (well, Miller7219's item remains unconfirmed).

Good job guys, here comes the scary part. If you think anything else must be changed for the patch, you have until sometime Saturday to convince me, otherwise we'll freeze features and pump out a release build for testing.
