Rereading Red Storm Rising
I see that Mr. Clancy and Mr. Bond had to make a few changes to US strategy for this book. Of course, no war plan survives first contact with the enemy and few survive first contact with the politicians. While the F-19 is of course fictional, I can see why the US developed the F-117 as it could do a lot of the stuff those aircraft do in the book.
