Hi all, Can some one explain how the different databases relate to one another, to battlesets and to scenarios? I have read of the Players DB, and I downloaded it. But it warns that it will change some base files. Why would I want to do that? How will it affect using other databases? Will it prevent me from using the HUD? Thanks, Disregard, Backed up everything necessary and installed PDB. This resolved many issues I was having plying the tutorial missions that were installed with the DBs for HUE. Things were often missing or acted odd so that a tutorial mission could not be completed as described in the manual. Regards,

Hello, I have just downloaded the latest version of the Players Data Base for Harpoon ANW Version 3.9. It seems to run quite well but I do have a couple of questions. 1) How do I change the ratio of longitide to Latitude on the scenarios maps. Some maps , upon intial loading are so distorted as to be un playable. I looked all over for the settings to correct this - but so far have found nothing. Can you help pls? 2) When one downloads the the complete Players Data Base where are all the new scenarios located? I can find all the old ones but not the new ones- I may be looking in the wrong place. Thank you allans

Only excuse is I've got a 250 scenario rebuild project underway as well as maintaining a website and trying to hunt bugs and build new scens if I have time. Please use this thread to express your thoughts and condolences on the passing of a honoured member of our Harpoon community, Darren Buckley of Melbourne, Australia. I don't have much to say, other than it was quite evident to anyone (even if you did not know him beyond the Interwebz) that Darren had a passion for our game that went well beyond the ordinary. His work on the Harpoon Users Database (HUD) was just one example of that. His contributions here will be missed, for sure.

Hello, I'm new to Harpoon 3ANW, I have the players DB and have successfully set up a multiplayer test game in the AoA server. Would anyone be interested in totally destroying this newbie sometime soon? I am in the Pacific Time Zone(USA). Fellow Harpooneers, I just purchased and installed H3 ANW 3.7.0.0, and am going through the tutorials now. I have had and played the original Harpoon, Harpoon II, Harpoon 97 Classic so I'm reasonably comfortable with H3's interface. I have a couple of questions I'm hoping for help with: 1. How far would you suggest I patch it? I have seen the comments to skip any other 3.7 versions and go to 3.8. (I've downloaded the 3.8 patch already). 2. Which version from 3.7 thru 3.8 will give me the best selection of user-made databases and scenarios? I always liked Harpoon II even with the fatal bugs, so I'm looking forward to my H3 experience. I've found a new problem in H3. It seems the radar horizon is not being enforced in the game. I created a test scenario between the LCF and a Perry in the H3DB...the LCF detected the Perry at 39 miles with radar! THis is a big problem because the radar horizon is only about 28 miles between large ships...these are small ships in the scenario. Thinking that it may be a db issue...I created a similar test scen using the DB2000...2 Perry class frigates....same result. Detection at about 40 miles on radar!! Hi all, So I downloaded the b7 of the HUD 4( The most recent available in the downloads section) and installed it. It doesn't seem to have any scenarios with it, so I then wnet looking for scenarios. I foudn a few that say that they need the HUD 4 official release, and one that said it needs Hud 4 b8. But I don't see either of these available on this site. So I am looking for guidance. I just got an original shrink wrapped box with H2 on optical disk, probably CD. It runs only on DOS, so I drug out an old Compaq biz PC, blew the dust off, said a short prayer and fired it up. It's alive! But, running XP, so I installed Windows ME which has a working Virutal DOS mode, and after a bit of tweaking the game runes, but it needs patches, badly.

This happened several times with different scenarios, despite being the sub quite inside the range for the torpedoe when trying to launch one, it appears the message telling the target is out of range, I have attached a screenshot of "Break the Blockade" where the SSN Saphir is just 0,3 nm from a British ship, but no way to accomplish the attack It is the last version of H3 ANW Ult. Whe I played a scenario of the Falkland battleset similar situation was seen as a British SSN was less than 2 nm from an Argentinian DD and the same outcome. Any idea?

The recent discussion discussion about using the ANW makes me think other people might be having similar difficulties. Maybe it would make sense for both the HC and H3 forums to have FAQ and/or Support sub-forums where problems and solutions can be posted? The existing FAQ sub-forum could be kept where it is for truly general questions but individual threads could be moved (or copied...it does not hurt to have help repeated in more than one place) to the new sub-forums. Hi everyone, my first post here. I was wondering whether it's possible to mod the stylised icon set (i'm running H3 ANW version 3.10.1.0). I know it's been done with HCE. I try not to be bugged by little things, and I know they are just symbols, but the missiles look over-size. When they are coming for me I feel like Indiana Jones and the boulder. Also the carrier icon is smaller than the other warships which also looks odd to me. I guess the answer is "no" or someone would have done it already.

Hello, I am trying the Scenario editor with ANW DB. When trying to edit a new scenario it tells me: ***Error*** Scenario creator: Change in longitude exceeds 180 degrees. WHat does it means? How can I edit a new battleset of GIUK?
