Hi guys, not sure if this is the right section to post my wish: I would love to place a base on Snake Island (Black sea). Is that possible?

I'm having a problem with a new Mk41 VSL mount. I'll add the missiles I want add the mount to the ship the export the DB to the game but when I look at the ship it will say I have 17x 40mm Bofor cannon on that mount. I go back and check the DB and it is as I built it. I imported an older DB looked at my mounts and Is is it has changed to the 40mm Bofors load out. Someing happens when I export the DM. I've tried changing things around but always ended up with the same result. I don't think I broke any rule as I modeled my mount after other Mk41 VLSs I've seen in the DB. Anyone have a idea how to fix this?

Snake Island is located 35 km from the coast, east of the mouth of the Danube River. The island's coordinates are 45°15′N 30°12′E. The island is X-shaped, 690 meters from S-W to N-E by 682 meters from N-W to S-E, covering an area of 0.205 km2 (0.079 sq mi). The highest area is 41 metres (135 ft) above sea level. The island does not have a prominently featured mountain, but rather a low-slope hill. Snake Island is the Island that the Ukrainians defending the is sent the Russian commander who asked them to surrender and got a very well known message in return. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_Island_during_the_2022_Russian_invasion_of_Ukraine View full re…

I noticed the following submarines listed as being capable of "very deep" (below 600 meters) operations: Class: Depth per Combat Fleets of the World 15th Edition 1. SSBN Le Triomphant: 500 meters 2. SSN Barracuda: 400 meters 3. SSGN Oscar II/I: 500 meters 4. Akula 1: 520 meters (also probably Akula II); normal operating 400-450 meters Compares to "deep": 5. Virginia: 488 meters test depth 6. Seawolf: 594 meters test depth 7. Los Angeles: 450 meters May need to change the above subs in the database. Steven

  5. Ok. If I understand this correctly - essentially the commondb.res is the database for weapons/sensors/platforms (ships/subs/airplanes) and bases. AS I recall somewhere there is an application that will convert the file (commondb.res) into either Microsoft Excel or Access Database format - a little easier for viewing and analysis. What is the application that I am thinking about? Should it already be on my computer with Install of harpoon - or where is it located within the HARPGAMER site. thanks in advance

I'm tinkering with the platform editor at the moment and have a few questions about the way fuel consumption works. As I understand it you set the range for particular loadouts. So what is the significance of the range figure in the aircraft description form. Is that just for reference? Also what is the significance of the fuel entry? Surely the fuel consumption etc. is modelled simply as range? Thanks Paragon

As discussed in the other thread, I am toying with the idea of a new, revamped HCDB that would look to fully exploit the new increased entry limits in the DB annexes. This new version of HCDB would depart from the stock scenarios supplied with the sim and from all scenarios created with the DB up to the point of departure. The old version of HCDB (1980-2015) would be maintained in place to preserve compatibility with those older scenarios. Goals for the new HCDB would include: * a focus on the post Cold War period (post 1991) * getting rid of the large amount of duplication in the Installations annex (no longer necessary now that we can rename units an…

Is there a way to obtain Access 97, or another version of MS Access, as freeware? I do not have it and would like to be able to use the PE but do not feel like buying Access from Microsoft.

Buddha, I haven't seen a comprehensive listing of the locations but you certainly have a workable approach by trying each location. We would love to see a largish graphic with each location noted so that we can post it on the HG website.

Someone remember if the Sonars Modifiers named Active and Passive in the Platform editor are disabled? If not, what is the effect of the modifiers? The values it sembles can be something as (it's not a exhaustive list, but I think those are the presente values): Passive, low noise: 246, 241 (Seawolf, Ohio, CAPTOR), 251 (Oscar II, Delta IV, Lafayette, Providence, Akula II, Improved Akula, Sierra II), Passive, high noise: 15, 226 (Noisemaker) Active, low noise/reflective size: 246, 251 (Seawolf, CAPTOR, Akula II, Improved Akula, Sierra II) Active, high noise/reflective size: 226 (Noisemaker),

Greetings, I have been working on a few scenarios in the Caribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa region and have seen there is a lack of any airfields in the HUCE DB for these areas. While I was driving into work this morning and idea hit me - INTL Arfld Lg and INTL - Arfld Sm. Like any other unit in the new group, they can be placed anywhere. Basic numbers could be assigned for their air defense and any additional SAMs can be separately placed around the units. Large airfields could handle all large fixed wind aircraft, while the small version would only be capable of suppporting VSTOL and helicopters. I believe this would be a very beneficial addition in the next H…

  20. Regrettably a Microsoft update has broken scripting functionality that the PE uses to import and export databases. DoCmd.TransferText acImportDelim/acExportDelim Is the command in question when using named Import and Export specifiers. This is not unique to the PE but it is a rarely used feature of Microsoft Access. It is unclear if or when Microsoft will remedy the issue via an update. There are alternatives but I won't be able to crank one out all that quickly as this functionality was an efficient way to remap field names for the .csv files you find in the commondb\res\ folder. To work around the problem, that mapping all has to be recreated in so…
