March 31, 200620 yr I always wondered about that. If the GE and the MDB file aren't linked directly, that would solve my problem. One more DB question. I noticed that AC Elevators and Cat's on a CV are listed in the PE with location numbers. Is there a source someplace as to what these numbers equate to as far as actual location on the flight deck? The Cat's aren't too bad, since there are only 4 of them, but there are 12 location numbers for the Elevators, ranging from 7 to 24. The only way I've found so far is to place an Elevator, export the DB, run the GE with the new platform and look to see where the Elevator shows up. Thanx: Buddha Buddha, I haven't seen a comprehensive listing of the locations but you certainly have a workable approach by trying each location. We would love to see a largish graphic with each location noted so that we can post it on the HG website.
April 1, 200620 yr As per your suggestion, I've prepared a graphic with the CV Elevator locations, as well as locations for the Cat's. It's an an annotated outline of a CV flight deck in JPG format. Now all I need is for someone to tell me how to upload it. It seems the only way to attach an image here is with a URL. All I have is a file. Buddha
April 2, 200620 yr I sent a copy of the JPG File containing the graphic I prepared to your sysop EMail. I wanted to post it here for all hands, but I can't figure out how to upload a graphic here. When I try, it keeps asking me for a URL. Buddha
April 2, 200620 yr Author Buddha put together a graphic explaining the location numbers of catapults and elevators as used by most aircraft carriers in HC. The data entry spot for locations is found by going into the PE, finding a carrier, looking at the mounts, double-clicking a mount or otherwise bringing up the full data for the mount at which point a location drop down is shown. The graphic equates these location numbers with the location shown in the platform display of the GE and SE. Thanks Buddha!
April 7, 200620 yr Nice Grafik, but i discoverd that the location place are different for each shipform! Regard René
June 16, 200620 yr I wasn't attempting to provide an all inclusive listing of location numbers for every mount on every platform, only Angle Deck CV Cat's and Elevators. An exhaustive list using the place, find, record method i used would no doubt take years. If all hands provide a small listing whenever they encounter a problem, we'll probably have them all eventually. Buddha
