In all the scenarios for the EC2000 series of Battlesets, the Strategic window shows the IOPG area no matter what area the scenario is actually played in. The Group and Unit windows aren't affected and display correctly. Buddha

HCE - 2008.048 ============== - Chg:0000 SE When loading a scenario that had a % chance of inclusion for planes, that % chance of inclusion was lost. That means only scenarios using % chance of inclusion other than 100% for planes that were only saved once acctually honor the denoted % chance of inclusion. (thanks TonyE) Brad, I think you are the only one other than me capable of testing this conclusively, but the rest of you can use some common sense testing (i.e. use low % of inclusion and see how that works in the GE after messing with the scen in the SE a few times, changing loadouts of thos…

  3. Component: SE Version: 2008.045 (and earlier) When adding air units the scenario designer is allowed to specify a % chance of inclusion for that air unit. However, if the loadout is changed in the SE, even if all planes in the unit are changed at the same time, the % chance of inclusion is reset to 100%. Correct behavior: 1. If you change the loadout for the entire unit (which may be 1 plane or 8 planes, whatever increment they were added in the first place), the unit should keep the % chance of inclusion originally denoted. 2. If you change the loadout for part of the unit I think the % chance of inclusion should stay as originally denoted as well. …

I just noticed that Map Grid lies Lines are set to off in .047 and can't be changed. Not sure if this came up before.

  7. Bug in SE 2008.44 : Is this a known bug ? When unit window is at x1 zoom, distances are double what they are in group window. Seems to happen at other "ratios" between unit window zoom and group window zoom, eg. certain combinations of zooms seem to trigger that bug in other situations than the 1x unit window. Haven't been able to 100% reproduce a list of such zoom settings, but could give it a try, if it's needed.

  8. Defect Name: PD crashes program in custom BS Build: 2008.044 Repeatable: Yes Operating System: All DB used: Any with platform images Scenario used: Any Battleset: EC2003+ Long Description: The most recent battleset builders use a battleset.rsr file (i.e. hdsu.rsr) that is non-zero in size in hopes of future expansion where the Staff Assistant, sunk ship, victory, etc. images are embedded in the battleset. This conflicts with some code that chooses whether to read platform images out of the hdsu.rsr file or the commondb.rsr file (if size of hdsu.rsr > 0 the GE/SE look in hdsu.rsr for the photo even when it is really in commondb.rsr). Now would be a really good time for everyone to go to work on the Pipe Dreams forum. Terminal maneuvers is low hanging fruit (smaller topic than most), for those aching for a beating work on logistics. Either way there are plenty of topics there and an extreme dearth of ideas, discussion, and commentary about what everyone wants.

Okay, with all of the change verification going on we're very close to sending our next patch off to Matrix. While we haven't included a lot of things I'd like to have in this patch, we have done quite a lot and what feedback we've had says to release the patch and move on to the next big set of changes. Today I put together the installer for the patch and it is working well. We do still have a few things to do, some of them you can help with: Anyone - Finish up verifying releasenotes items 2008.044 - http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=2998 TonyE - Add the new battleset descriptions for the four new battlesets. Brad wrote them, I have to add…

Thanks to TEPonta and noxious for pointing me distinctly in the right direction to take care of this. You two especially please try 2008.044 BS Builder. Since upgrading to .042, I have been unable to run the BS Builder. On the rare occasions that I can get past "Not Responding", I get the attached error message. Also, a shortcut named "DelRes" suddenly appeared in the Harpoon menu group. I'm not sure what that does. Any suggestions, anyone? Buddha

  15. This scenario, 'Worst Case Scenario', is for play by BLUE in the Westpac Battleset. This is a "monster scenario", depicting a war between Russia/China/DPRK vs USA/Japan/ROK/Vietnam across multiple fronts in the Western Pacific. It has over 1,700 aircraft, nearly 50 bases and nearly 100 ships in play. It is PC memory intensive, and labour intensive. It will be a challenge to keep control of all of your units, let alone successfully employ them. But thats half the fun, right? You will need the latest version of the HCDB. Please take this scenario for a spin and let me know if you have problems, issues, thoughts, opinions, whatever. The scenario is NOT read…

So in addition to testing the things in 2008.026 release notes, note if images are missing from dialogs (victory, staff assistant, etc.) in various battlesets. If you are a bit more advanced, try replacing some of the graphics and see what happens. If you are really advanced, look for memory leaks as there are two parts of the changed code that may be leaking memory with each load of one of the graphics.
