    Now that HCE has been released, I have several under-construction-scenarios on the backburners that are being dusted off and polished up for release. This one, 'Oubliette', is for play by BLUE in the Westpac Battleset. This one sends an Ohio SSBN into the Sea of Okhotsk to take up a deterrent patrol during a time of war. Please take it for a spin and let me know if you have problems, issues, thoughts, opinions, whatever. The scenario is NOT ready for release, so please do not distribute it. oubliette.zip

As with French Titan, I would over the moon if someone\some people could give this a test run and provide me with some feedback, I would be very grateful for any information that will go towards making this a quality scenario!     It would be very helpful if as many folks as possible could take for a spin some (or all) of the newly revised EC2003 battleset scenarios. HG member PAK has graciously donated his time and effort to revise a number of these scenarios to resolve certain outstanding issues, typically problems with Victory Conditions. Please take one or more for a spin with the latest HCDB and check fit and functionality with the changes reported by PAK. Thanks!

    On a quick try to check this issue i found 3 Problems with the guns. 1. Guns sometimes are firing more than 1 round at once even if the 2. Ammo is out of range. Only happens when the longer ranges Ammo is listed below the shorter ranges weapon 2. Guns with dual purpose Ammo sometimes can´t be used at the ground range against ground targets, you need to close in until you´re in the AA Range to engage a ground target. 3. no damage on installations by Dualpurpose Ammo, no flash/hit animation! (needs confirmation!) Test Scen attached, simply attack the Base with guns and observe what happens. Regards René GUNTEST.zip

    By playing the HDSL 1.0 (WestPac) with 2008.023 I discovered the following behavior: for tanks, 5 DP ; for mobile SAM units (ZU-23), 100 DP. So for a tank it is easier to kill an other tank than a SAM unit. I do not know exactly were to address. On one hand this shall be corrected in the DB. On the other hand this shall also be corrected with low priority in the modeling, so that it is similar than in Steel Panther Game. What are your points of views?

    I've suffered a catastrophic hard drive failure on my home computer, and with it being the holidays it will be several days before I can even get a new one in to fix it. I will be able to get an old one up and running, but it will basically be limited to internet and the like. I'll update you when I am back to full running capacity.

  13. Component: SE Version: 2008.045 (and earlier) When adding air units the scenario designer is allowed to specify a % chance of inclusion for that air unit. However, if the loadout is changed in the SE, even if all planes in the unit are changed at the same time, the % chance of inclusion is reset to 100%. Correct behavior: 1. If you change the loadout for the entire unit (which may be 1 plane or 8 planes, whatever increment they were added in the first place), the unit should keep the % chance of inclusion originally denoted. 2.     Hello, was a little busy in RL in the last weeks, but now it looks better. My first installation of HCE2008.021 (in a separate folder) corrupted the current installation of 2007.000 release - nothing worked any longer. One error message was about problems with serail number (think it was error code 300). Then I deinstalled the release version, reinstalled 2008.021 and copied the latest exes in this folder. Two issues so far: 1. no sound ! Remark: It´s on my brandnew, fast Vista PC. 2. Starting the game instantly shoots me in a scen, not the battleset selection window. I´ll go on testing this weekend.     2007.016 Sees more AI Ship to Ship torp launch work as well as work on the battleset builder and the introduction of hdsm battleset (so you don't have to overwrite an existing battleset). Please Test: 1. Make sure AI will fire torps against player ships (it will only do this when it cannot fire missiles or guns) 2. Keep testing the battleset builder. It needs work but the acceptable parameters have yet to be found (on how large/small/wide/tall/etc. at battleset can be before the GE and SE go really strange).
