The truth about assault weapons
Interesting point, but I would rather not have a guy in a spree shooting be able to fire twenty rounds before having to reload.

NNSotD (Naval News Summary of the Day)
Re CdG going into Toulon; it might get deployed off West Africa if the Mali op goes on.

NNSotD (Naval News Summary of the Day)
1. That needs two boards? 2. Ultimately, Iran loses heavily in any military confrontion with the West - any damage it caused would be at the loss of pretty much its entire air force and navy. The game isn't frankly worth the candle for them.

South Atlantic War - British records released
Had a skim through the stuff. Most of its political, but there is a discussion on attacking 25 de Mayo in there. A lot of the military stuff has probably been retained; as there are still T42s and Harriers in service in the UK or allied nations.

South Atlantic War - British records released
The War Cabinet discussions of the 1982 conflict have been released: http://nationalarchives.gov.uk/news/cab-highlights-1982.htm

Bomb Sight
Worth noting that 'London' was a lot smaller back in then (in terms of administrative area), although this covers some of the surrounding districts. My area, including RAF Hornchurch falls just outside this survey.

UK to sell Typhoons, Hawks to Oman
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-20808517 (rmks: Sky News gives this a lot greater prominence. I believe this is a partial make-up for the UK lowering its order)

NNSotD (Naval News Summary of the Day)
I think you're right! One thing is for sure, the Russkies have a lot of submarine salvage experience to draw upon!. FWFS, Greg I wasn't talking about them sinking - I was talking about poorly shielded reactors on those classes...

NNSotD (Naval News Summary of the Day)
I thought K-19 (a "Hotel") was the "Widowmaker" - not to say that the HENs weren't dangerous subs to serve on.

Russia to abandon Gabala BMD Radar, replace with Armavir
Thanks for the link. RIA always puts that ABM Treaty comment in those stories, I believe.

NNSotD (Naval News Summary of the Day)
Regarding piracy, I think it's monsoon season. Also attacks are way down on last year.

Splash One Mudhen
I'm down to only three players here and need at least one more to make this game viable. If I don't get one by year's end, I'll end it.

Improved LA Class verse Delta II and Krivak
Excellent stuff! The noise of the Deltas is why they were kept close to the USSR for better protection from submarines.

NNSotD (Naval News Summary of the Day)
Worth remembering that Little Boy didn't 'destroy' Hiroshima - about a quarter of the city's buildings survived.

Information Dissemination - First flight of J-15 off Liaoning
Impressive achievement for any nation.

Improved LA Class verse Delta II and Krivak
Indeed, great stuff!

Op Pillar of Defense
It's just a general comment - Hamas is now saying over 100 dead on their side.

Op Pillar of Defense
One of course should be wary of any casualty figures delivered by an official spokesperson on either side - casualty figure over-reporting (and indeed under-reporting) goes back to at least Dresden, where Goering added an extra zero to the death toll in the official report.
