Total victory conditions
If this is the case, it is an issue and should probably be written up in the issue tracker. This does seem like one that is simple enough to fix, just add in a minimum victory condition that is the same as the total conditions already there. At which point you get both conditions triggered on completion.

Total victory conditions
I assume then that since I always add in minimum victory conditions first for both sides, followed by total victory for both sides is the reason I've never stumbled on this issue?

Creative fictional mission!
Here's an idea for you. China has finally had it with Taiwan and has decided to settle the matter once and for all. Battleset: WestPac Unitset: Official DB Blue Forces: Taiwan, B-52s out of Diego Garcia, Carrier stationed at Japan Red: China Objectives: Blue: Taiwan forces survive for 72 hours (US reinforcements arrive) Red: Eliminate 75% of Taiwanese forces and have the amphibious group on station for 12 hours. Remember, if you make a scenario to be played for both sides, you will have to balance it. If you make it red or blue only then you can make the AI a lot stronger than the player.

Total victory conditions
While it might not be normal, it is possible. Some scenerios can be considered 'All or Nothing' and may not have minimum or total victory conditions. In this case, it seems the only objective might be the sinking of the three amphibious ships, so the scenario really only has a total victory condition. I personally think the terminology can be a bit misleading. I like to think of it this way: Minimum Victory is a tactical victory. Total Victory is a strategic victory.

The sinking of the Cheonan
I guess one other option to explain it (not saying its likely only possible) due to the damage done would be an accident in an ammo magazine. Most (if not all) ships would be destroyed by such an event.

2010.005 Release Notes
Tony, as you know I've been unavailable for a bit, do I need to install all of the updates in order, or can I just install the latest version without problems?

2010.002 Release Notes
Judging from the looks of this...were ships running their magazines dry on point defense? And is it now only allowing 30 shots, or rather 15 seconds of ammo? If what I am reading is correct, it fired 30 shots in the first attack, then 30 in the second. Was it actually firing more than that before?

Point Defense Gunnery
Being the 'glass half empty' type guy I am, I often wonder what animals have already tried to munch on the low hanging fruit already.

Point Defense Gunnery
Good work on testing all this. @Tony: How hard would it be to code in the arcs for the naval guns? And is it worth the effort?

Has no one checked this yet? If not, I should be able to get to it over the next couple of days.

Harpoon v Silent Hunter
My take: 1. Harpoon can be about large or small scale battles, it really just depends on the scenario. You don't run an individual ship, but you do have the ability to micromanage your fleets if you want to. Harpoon is more suited to task force level play, though you do have control over the individual units if you so desire. 2. That depends on you. I think its great, but am somewhat biased. 3. I don't really think you can compare them. They really aren't the same genre. Silent Hunter is about submarine warfare, Harpoon is about tactical naval warfare including air ops. 4. I can definitely comment on Harpoon: Strengths: Harpoon allows tactical naval warfare on a regional scale with the player being in control in a manner similar to a theatre commander. It is an older, but well established game that has a rich 20+ year history on PC. The level of detail allows you to micro-manage if you desire, and the AI assist is good enough that you can simply manage on a theatre command level instead of a unit command level. Real time combat. Weaknesses: As of right now, no multiplayer. Graphics are not up to date (though some, like myself, don't consider this a weakness). That's my opinion on the matter anyway. As far as which I would play...both to be honest, but if I had to choose only 1, I'd choose Harpoon.

Ghost of a Battleship
Just judging from the fact that the area around the ship is much lighter than the rest of the picture, I'm going to say its photo-shopped. Still neat to see a picture of an old battlewagon though.

A lock/remember feature for the windows.
While I personally never use cascade (its cumbersome and annoying to me) there might be people that do. I'd say leave the ability, but make it an 'opt in' thing where you have to purposely set it to cascade the windows. That is remove the menu option so it can't be accidentally activated, but still have the ability available to those that want it.

Airborn ASW Search Plan
I suppose it would make sense to either tackle the side closest to you (i.e. in order to establish the barrier rapidly) or, alternatively, the one furthest away (i.e. so that you know the sub is at least somewhere you and the distant barrier). That may not be such a great idea, I've often seen uncertainty zones that would be the equivalent of several thousands of miles. The inside edge can also be very very far from where the ship/sub actually is. Basically we need to make a maximum uncertainty box size on it to prevent the AI from doing something foolish. Sort of like this If possible range is >=X then do not intercept If Possible Range is <=X then intercept or some such.

Formation Window
Definately going to need some more information (and a savegame or screenshot) to be able to tell what is actually happening. Version Number, is it repeatable? (and the screenshot would tell me a lot).

Computer Hardware Opinions
For me, the Video card is going to be a major componant since I play so many graphics intensive games. While I like cheap (hey who doesn't?), I'd rather get something that can stand up to the workload and pay more for it if I have to.

Computer Hardware Opinions
I have no plans to overclock, so I won't need anything that is designed for overclocking. I'd rather keep everything within the tested specs so that is should last longer (after all, It'll be another 3-4 years before I replace this one). If you can find a better video card that is cheaper that is always a plus. I'm not sure about ATI, I've always used NVidia so I'm definately familiar with that brand. What ASUS MB would you suggest? I've used both ASUS and ASRock (currently using and very happy with an ASRock board) and had good luck with both brands, so I'm open on that topic, and price does matter. I'm not going to skimp on the CPU this go around like I've done every previous time, but I don't think the $900+ one is going to be a bit out of my price range. Somwehere in the $300 range is more my budget.

Computer Hardware Opinions
I'm looking at buying the parts for a system rebuild over the next 3-4 months, and just want to see if anyone has any opinions on what I am looking at for right now. Also if anyone can answer some questions in a way that I can understand. The mainboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813157163 http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Mode...0Extreme&s= The CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115202 http://processorfinder.intel.com/Details.aspx?sSpec=SLBCH Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820227365 http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memo..._triple_channel Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130339 So, firstly does this look like a good upgrade to everyone? I do realize I'll have to get a better power supply, so I'll pick up one before I put it together. Also, on CPUs does the ghz rating mean as much as the number of cores anymore? I a bit behind on what makes a good CPU anymore. Please, comments welcome. If its good that's great, if its not, pls save me from my own stupidity.

Have you tried changing the jumpers on the second drive? If it's set as a slave, your system might not see it unless there's a working master ahead of it in the chain? I swapped it to a master before I even plugged it in solo. The second one that is not being identified is the older of the two drives (about 10 years old) so I'm not surprised it failed, it was a drive about 2 years old that had mechanical failure though.

Sorry to hear that Akula, lost one myself not long ago but luckily had run a complete backup just that morning and bigger surprise that the backup was valid! Hope your machine has a speedy recovery. Well, I had run a back up just the day before, so nothing important was lost. Was able to get a small HD going, but don't have anything loaded so I'm limited to surfing and email. new HDD is ordered and will probably be here middle of next week. What was weird about this was the fact that it nailed both of the HDDs in my computer, one with mechanical failure, then the other one can no longer be recognized by the computer. I'm just wondering if the mechanical failure ruined the drive daisy chained into it.

I've suffered a catastrophic hard drive failure on my home computer, and with it being the holidays it will be several days before I can even get a new one in to fix it. I will be able to get an old one up and running, but it will basically be limited to internet and the like. I'll update you when I am back to full running capacity.
